Michelle Rodriguez returns from the afterlife

Entertainment Weekly reported last week that Michelle Rodriguez will be reprising her role of disgraced LAPD cop Ana Lucia Cortez this season on Lost.

What's that you say — she's dead? Well, speculation on the Internet suggests she'll return as a zombie (doubtful), as a hallucination (totally possible given the island’s maddening history) or as (drum roll please) a flashback.

Maybe the flashback is to occur in the second episode with Hurley as the main focus of the storyline. Chances are the big guy’s going to be kicking it with the ghosts of his Lost past. Perhaps Ana Lucia doesn’t even appear as a ghost — maybe Officer Cortez has some sort of scuffle with Hurley’s shady father, played by Cheech Marin.

On Lost, anything is possible. How do you think Ana Lucia will show up? Better yet, how should she show up?

    I definately agree with you on that one but i think we got a fight on our hands over who gets her out of us lot.

    Im glad she's coming back. She's the reason I started watching Lost in the first place. I dont care what she comes back as. As long as she's there.

    Dude, I'm really pleased, since Ana was one of my favourite characters, but... I've been trying to remain spoiler-free for season 5! I've kept away from all Lost websites and mailing lists, including sites for the cast and crew. I didn't expect to be spoiled by logging onto AfterEllen.com (especially considering the woeful lack of gay ladies on that show. If there's one thing Lost needs, it's Kate and Juliet to stop fighting over Jack and hook up with each other already lesbians).

    Lost is one of those shows where spoilers are incredibly tempting, but eventually take away from experiencing the surprises for yourself. Now, I know you reported on it because Ana-Lucia was a bitchin' character, and Michelle Rodriquez has a big lesbian following whether she likes it or not. I'm not one of those scary fans who is going to scream and cry and accuse you of doing it on purpose because you hate me, but I am annoyed. If Lost spoilers are something I'm going to have to worry about, I probably won't visit AE in the lead-up to the season premiere.

    Speaking on behalf of the members of Michelle's official fan forum...We are all jumping for joy at the prospect of Michelle's return to "Lost"; and anxiously await the way of how she will return to the series; since it's already been announced that flashbacks are no longer a part of that series' storytelling(We suspect a dream sequence; and completely ignore the zombie rumour...); and, yes...We agree with Diana on how she should return...But, we'll settle for a bikini! ;)

    As for lovecat's comment...Michelle is proud and caring to all her fans:  straight, gay or transgender.  She loves us all!

    And, as for jordan; you're entitled to your opinion...Even if it's completely foolish...

    Sorry for that quip about Michelle and her lesbian following. I was mainly making reference to the time that she indicated she was not psyched that everyone assumed she must be gay because she has a strong personality, as if anyone who's attracted to men isn't also allowed to be confident and assertive. I phrased it wrongly, and it came off sounding bitchy.

    This is great news! I remember being so pissed when they killed her off. But I have to admit, there has been so much else going on in the series since she died that I quickly forgot about her. But I did love her role in the series and am happy for her return. Even if it is short and sweet.

     Lost is the best effin show ever.

    Not only should she show up naked but she should show up naked & on my front porch! Put that in your pipe & smoke it.

    Or if course if that's not possible, I'd settle for in my dreams. Or on Lost again. Yay Lost! Just when I thought I couldn't love that show any more:)
