TV alert: It's time to "Work Out" againTonight at 11 p.m. ET, Work Out returns to Bravo for its third season — as you may know if you've read our Season 3 feature on the show. (And if you haven't read it yet, why not? Jackie Warner and Rebecca Cardon both reveal some really interesting tidbits about how they feel they were portrayed last season.)
I must admit I've always liked Work Out, because it's totally escapist melodrama that doesn't sink to the level of Flavor of Love (or even A Shot at Love), and also because Jackie's, well, hot. Apparently Jackie's so hot that she's a magnet for straight women, too, and the New York Times recently wrote about this phenomenon in their Style section. OK, full disclosure: They interviewed me for the article, too. The reporter and I talked about a lot of stuff, including gender, and I explained that I thought that straight women have often been attacted to lesbians who fall more on the butch scale of the gender spectrum. Jackie's not your stereotypical old-school butch, but she has the same swagger and hint of masculinity. (I give her some wiggle room for being an L.A. lesbian who's on TV, where makeup is required, unfortunately.)
The article was brief and focused on straight women, though, so none of that made it into the interview. What did make it in was my identifying Jackie as a player. Ha! I'm not saying I was misquoted or anything — I was quoted entirely accurately — I just think it's amusing that what to me (and to many lesbians, probably) is an old and familiar experience doesn't really fit into a straight perspective on the matter at all. For straight people, it seems that Jackie's a new phenomenon — the lesbian who attracts housewives — when I think she's just the latest in a long line of seductive butches (or "futches," if you're a Dani Campbell fan). At any rate, my DVR has been set for this season of Work Out. To whet your appetite for more, here's a 10-minute sneak preview from Bravo: So, will you be watching? Does Jackie do it for you? err..i don't regard jackie as butch; she's femmey to me. just because she's athletic, driven, has self-confidence, and doesn't walk around wearing sundresses doesn't make her a "butch."

I LOVE this show.
And, I'm really shocked that someone said they see Jackie as 'femmey'! I definitely see her as more masculine--and it has little to do with her looks.

Doesn't Jackie look more egotistical then ever this season? I don't know why I find her new relationship so nauseating. As normal as she is trying to make it out as, it doesn't seem that normal to me - move in together the first day you meet, making out at dinner in front of your employees and your ex...I don't get it. I thought the therapy session was weird, too - calling Rebecca an energy vampire? Her shrink doesn't know Jackie well enough to know that every conversation, every interaction is all about Jackie....how about when she unloaded all of her drama on Rebecca and then wouldn't even listen to what was going on with Rebecca's life? Jackie = energy vampire.
I could do without the new people--I only really care about Jackie, Rebecca, and Jesse - the rest don't light my world on fire.

Jackie was too over the top last night. She used to be pushy and aggressive in a good way and an attractive way. But now? What a turn off-
Last night was nauseating. When Peeler looks less egotistical, you have a problem. And the new guy seems like a real *sshole. I'm bi so I thought his body was hot, but as soon as he opened his mouth? Blech!
I agree - I like Jackie, Jesse, and Rebecca.
I thought Jackie was very fake last night, as well as being mean, conceited, and pushy. Like Jesse said, everything is all about her all the time. Showing up to dinner an hour late with an uninvited guest? And then the new asshole shows up, late, with an uninvited guest, AND wears his hat while sitting at the table eating? WTF? Get the fuck over yourselves!
Oh, and the new Greek girl is H-O-T!

Jackie more than does it for me!! her body, her attitude, her everything . Rwar!. I wish I had enough money to afford her trainings I would sooooooo go for HER, and have HER train me *swoons* I dont live far away from her gym so, just to drive by makes me drool! LOL.
Yeah, Im a jackie addict, the first episode of season 3 was THE bomb. I missed that show and I wont miss one single freaking episode!. The new people kinda dull out the show though, it felt a bit weird with that hercules coming in..one thing I gotta admit tho, that agostina chick is HAWT! more eyecandy! yum! :D
