Yes, folks, the time has come: Welcome to the last episode of The Lo-Down (before we go on indefinite hiatus). Sarah Pecora and I have really enjoyed sitting on the couch and talking to you all for the past year. We thought about going out with a star-studded musical episode, but unfortunately due to budget constraints you'll have to settle for our reminiscing over a bottle of champagne.
We also take a trip to San Francisco's women-owned and operated Black and Blue Tattoo, where Sarah is in the process of having her latest tattoo done by the fabulous Anne Williams. So sit back, relax and enjoy our vlog! And if you miss us in the future, you can always watch previous episodes of The Lo-Down or drop by my website and say hi. We will miss you, and thanks for being the Best. Vlog. Viewers. Ever! The Lo-Down: The Final Episode Submitted by on August 26, 2008 - 3:00pm. |

Final episode
I'm actually afraid to watch this episode, as long as I don't there will still be one more lo-down. I will of course watch it, I couldn't resist it.
I'm really gonna miss you guys and will rewatch the old vlogs!
Good luck with whatever you two will do after this.
So sad...but looking toward the future

*clears throat* Its ok I'm fine...
Thank you two so much for the counts less hours of planning and mindless entertainment you have given us. The Tila reenactments will always hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you for talking about the stuff others are afraid to even mention.
Thank you for being yourselves and allowing us glimpes into your lives. Natasha sounds like a hella of lot better name than Froley.
Thank you for coming to meet and greet. And for signing some random girl's plastic fire fighter hat.
Thank you for being out and proud.
I, for one, appreciate every little thing you two did and will do so... Thank you and farewell.

www.myspace.com/lunakiss7
You two are wonderful for doing the vblog in the first place. You entertained us well. I enjoyed your rambling, reenactments, your creative news stories (my favorite), Lesbian Woman reading, views on ASWTT, womyn of color, other television shows, etc. I will miss your smiling faces. Much luck Malinda on your writing career, and Sarah P on your family and life.
XOXO
Miss K

Hey, i don't usually post but I had to thank you guys for your wonderful vblog. I have been watching it since the very beginning. You guys rock! I wish you all the best in all your future projects! Take care! You will be missed!
'An extreme version of
'An extreme version of downward dog.' - hilarious.
You’ll both be missed.
Goodbye crockpot!
Melinda and Sarah. I enjoyed the Crockpot's topics . I just wish we had more time with you. Good luck with every thing you decide to do. Thank you for sharing your life stories with us. Thank You!! And Goodbye!!
Toasting you with pineapple juice
I'm raising a glass to you in toast ...
Thanks for sharing with us this past year .. you've made me think & laugh & consider buying a crock pot (I've decided to stick with my rice cooker).
Malinda Lo, I look forward to reading whatever you send out into the world, & here's to a successful life!
And, Sarah Pecora, all the happiness in the world for you & Claudia & your soon-to-arrive little one. (Oh, and good luck with your tattoo, too!)
All the best to you both .... Saradove
I enjoyed watching the
"All good things must come to an end"
I just wish it wasn't true. I have enjoyed all of your Vlogs. Your commradery and openness was refreshing and very entertaining. Malinda, I look forward to reading your books and bragging to my friends that I was reading your insightful articles long before you ever published your first book. Sarah, I wish you the best. If you ever have a chance to work with after ellen in the future, I think I speak for many when I say...go for it. Your charisma will be sadly missed. The best to you both.
Very sad, and happy for you
I'm so sorry that this is going off production! I get so excited every time I saw there was a new Lo-Down - y'all did a great job. You are both so incredibly hilarious - you made me laugh like crazy.
I'm happy for you, though - I can't imagine that doing this so often while trying to get a book ready for publication and write a new one at the same time would be easy, and I figured you'd probably end up at least slowing down anyway once Sarah's baby is born. Newborns tend to eliminate most extracurricular activities from their parents' lives for quite awhile, or so I understand.
Sarah, my hearing bites, but did your tattoo artist say that that was your wedding day??? If so, congratulations! And I agree, Natasha is a much nicer name than Froley. :) Please, please come show her off on a special return episode of this vlog when she's born!
Malinda, I'll miss your articles even more than this vlog - I hope you do have time to do an occasional one, even if you don't want to do the editing anymore. I'm really excited about your book - I get every fairy tale based novel with a strong female protagonist that I can find anyway, and I love all of your listed favorite writers - it bodes well!
Anyway, thank you for this vlog - and don't apologize for not having any fancy guest stars. Nobody who watches this vlog needs any kind of frenetic razzle-dazzle - we all watched it for the two of you (and sometimes your dolls). I was totally happy to have a dog guest star, especially one that was so nicely behaved. :)
you will be missed!
This was the first vlog
Thank you, and good luck!
There'll be many crying lesbians out in cyberspace tonight, drinking away their sorrows with cheap champagne and good orange juice. But the words "indefinite hiatus" give us a vague sense of hope!
Again, thanks for this vlog over the past year - the best vlog on the site! And here's wishing you success in everything that you do.
one last time
another great, hilarious and thought-provoking Lowdown. I will seriously miss you guys, you are such good vloggers always coming up with new ideas and crazy as well as serious thinking. And what do you mean with not flashy and exciting? Foam parties, pole dancing, tattoo parlor visits, Sara`s contagious laughter, ... that certainly had me watching. So thanks for all that and have a great time in whatever you do!
Great last show
Thank you
Thank you both so much for the last year. I'm so glad you said indefinate hiatus... at least that gives us some hope!
Good luck for whatever comes next for you both, and Malinda WE WILL MISS YOU! Good luck with your writing, and don't forget, if you ever get the urge to write a little article on some lesbianish topic, we will be here...!
With mixed emotions
With mixed emotions, I say goodbye. I will miss the vlog and having Malinda as such a critical part of AE. However, I'm happy for you and this opportunity. Sarah, stay in touch with AE. Maybe you need another vlog buddy and can continue on? Best wishes to you both and thanks.

Bye
Del Martin
Melinda
Del Martin the women who wrote Lesbian/Women died yesterday, She was 87 and moved in to the Castro the year I was born (I think they lived in the East Bay later and I remember reading thier house burned down and they lost a lot of historical lesbian stuff, I hoping that's not something I made up).
She had been with her partner 55 years. My partner and I are proud of our 26 years but that makes us look like babes.
I think AfterEllen should give her a proper write-up for the young'uns.
Little Humor and Truth
You both have a great combination of humor and seriousness. You brought up great topics a couple stand out for me: multi racial people, and being multi racial having enough strikes against yourself.
I am still trying to development a life outside of work
just a bit of humor

I've really enjoyed watching you guys for the last year or so.
Thanks for the laughs...as well as the more serious and thought provoking stuff.

Hopefully, we'll all be thriving, 12 years after President Obama's two terms in office have ended.
Best of luck to both of you. I hope that you will pop up on After Ellen from time to time to let us know how you are doing.
Thanks for being such an amazing part of this community. You will be missed.
