This week, Sarah P. and I tackle the subject of online dating. We run through our tips for how to write your profile, choose a picture, and how to screen for potential dates. In editing the video, I realized we made it sound kind of like a business. But hopefully you will not be discouraged! It is exciting and fun! Just like the Love Boat, only, um, on the internet. OK, that's the end of my trying to make bad jokes. Go forth and watch: Watch previous episodes of The Lo-Down, visit Malinda Lo at www.malindalo.com, and follow them on Twitter at twitter.com/malindalo and twitter.com/specsperspec. Yay. Waiting for a week is always worth it :)
Your kind and funny advices inspire me to try and actually do something! :)
can I just say that both of
can I just say that both of you looked gorgeous in this episode? (not that you wouldn't look gorgeous anyways...but I kinda missed sarah's tie, that was hot)
I wouldn't be with my girlfriend now if it hadn't been for the benefits of a lesbian social networking site (a german one, that is). we met through friends, hooked up once and afterwards I told her the meaning of my nickname on that page and that it was a swedish one. And she had the courage to google that word and look me up, plus write a mail. (I have to admit, I hadn't been very encouraging...and yet she still wanted to get to know me. Because I was interesting, she told me...)
Oh, and for dating etiquette, I think we did wrong everything we possibly could have done wrong. Not the looking good part though, but we were rather drunk the first time around...
This Couldn't Come At A More Perfect Time
A friend on here just email a couple days ago me asking bout some websites on online Lesbian dating. I gave her some leadway and tips. I now, however, will email here and lead her to you beautiful womyn's online Lesbian Dating episode.
Thanks a bunch.
I agree with all what you said.
Hi, that is me.
a word in your ear dear sir......
Just thought i'd say that it's great to have you back on afterellen, the repport between you two feels like an old worn in shoe and it's great to watch.
Don't think i dare put Star Trek on the profile just yet though. Although i think that sometimes there's too much emphasis on having to have things in common from the off with on line dating, people can make an effort to take an interest in someone else's hobbies, they might try and give up but at least they'd know what an eagle is. Maybe it's more of a personality match, you get on you can talk about your day and empathise with each other, and enjoy the same holidays.
Having said that with on line dating common interests are a good starting point, maybe they'll be bossy maybe they'll be a swinger, or maybe they're 78 and that's a photo of their grand-daughter.........
