I've only heard that Asian people don't like dating people from other Asian countries while their own country, Americans, and Europeans are all fine.  I'm white but my school is 40% Asian and those students associate primarily with those from their own Asian country, then Americans, but never other Asians.  I guess given Asia's history there is a lot of animosity between the Asian countries.  Anyway, that's all pretty interesting and great vlog as always.

The whole dating other asian people thing for me is not to do with race i just don't know any or the ones i do know are family/friends which is really just family. Luckily I'm not of an age when they think I should marry so no one sets me up, though I did get offered to be set up by an auntie once hopefully she was joking.

Ms.Lo, I believe you're right about Asian dating, might be internalized phobia.  The only Asian couples I've met were International students during my undergrad years. Lot of them were my friends. I only known one couple  who dated outside their own Asian background a Thai  man and a Chinese womyn.

I loved everything about your vlog this week. I especially loved the pictures of the top lesbian careers and Madame Hooch was my favorite. The candidate that would be endorsed by the Lesbian Union sounds hot!

As for the "I don't go for Chinese" comment, that really bugged me. I think it was definitely internalized racism, and it reminded me too much of an asshole who told my friend that he wouldn't date her because she's black. By the way, he's biracial- his mom is white and his dad is black. He also said that he's only attracted to white girls. So I didn't see the comment the brain surgeon made as honest but as pigheaded and racist.

Whew, Sarah - I've only been using public trans for a month, and I haven't seen that. I'm going to be all paranoid about this now - ewww!

I loved the part about lesbian jobs. Made me happy because according to you, my job is one of the top lesbian jobs (social work) sad thing is, there are not man lesbians in my classes. Actually I’m one of the only ones. Oh well.

About the whole toe nail thing, it is bad on public transit yes, but there was a girl in one of my classes who would start doing her nails during the lecture. That included clipping them and filing them. Again something that should not happen!

I would love to hear more about interracial dating. My ex is Asian and told me many times she just did not find other Asian women attractive, I found this to be true with many of her friends as well.

This vlog definitely counts as misunderstood but culturally significant art. Hell, every vlog this whole site counts. Unfortunately, I don't think people in the mainstream media are quite ready for dolls making out, in satire or otherwise. It's too edgy. And needs more cowbell. :)

I so want a vagina couch. I would annoy the hell out of my friends, and I would never tire of it. I'd keep saying things like. "Hey, have you seen my vagina?!" I'm a law student who'll probably practice law for awhile and then get my PhD in either Sociology or Psychology. If I choose the latter I'll likely practice clinical psychology afterwards. So I guess I cover a number of those popular queer woman occupations!

I also thought the Asian Doctor was cute and I like seeing young hot Asian couples on TV.

I am very much for the discussion of interracial dating. As a multiracial person, I am always interracially dating and I would love to hear both of your perspectives on it.

Also, I am very pleased with the new bedtime stories segment. Very pleased. :-)

Eye contact: Yes, look at each other...in bars, or anywhere else for that matter. I'm always amazed at how many people immediately look away when my eyes cross theirs. What are you all so afraid off?

Interracial dating: I have in the past. To be honest, it's something I never really gave much thought, and it's also never been much of an issue.  

Bedtime stories: That reminded me of my own lesbian pulp novel collection* that should be in a box in the basement somewhere...

First off, I want to say how much I've always enjoying viewing this vlog...and I have to say that the new format is Awsome!  I'm always anxious to see what's in the Crockpot!

 In the AfterEllen recap as well as this vlog it was discussed that Caitlin and Alicia haven't had sex yet.  And I was thinking, 'I could've sworn I heard a reference to it in 104' so being the geek that I am, I went back and checked (I put on the closed captions).  In the first group scene I think everyone thought Caitlin said "I actually like making out with her" but she really said, "I actually like waking up with her".  It's no big deal, I just thought you'd like to know.

After deciding it was more pressing than 2 days of make up work, I listened several times to this clip and it sounds like waking up to me as well.

Of course, these aren't real lesbians. They're TVLand lesbians. Which is to say, maybe they fell asleep brushing eachothers hair?

Okay, eye contact, yes... good... I agree... non-stalker like eye flirtatious eye contact.

This brings me to the next issue, and I think a possible crock poc idea.

How can you tell the difference between someone who is just being nice, or actually flirting?

Take the eye contact thing for example, if I were to walk into some coffee shop and say a girl made (what I thought to be) meaningful eye contact. How could you tell if she was a) checking you out or b) just checking your outfit out because she thinks that skirt is cute and wants to find the store you got it from.

I love your fake headlines!  This was such an interesting vlog,  You both always keep us talking all week about issues that effect us.  Like what job to enter into if you want to find a hot chick, or even, why men are writtting lesbian story lines at all.  I only wish you both would do the whole segment in bed!

I agree with the point on internalized racism too. I don't know, it seems we've been taught to idolize western features. The massive amounts of asian women undergoing double eyelid surgery is proof.... i doubt it's because they want to see just a little better.

And asian women are seen as more desired than Asian men, sad.
