This week on the second episode of A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila (appropriately titled "Fight for Love"), all sorts of disturbing stuff happened: cowboy elementary school teacher Ashley rekindled his love/hate relationship with hyena laughing guy Marcus (maybe he's related to those hyenas/bullies in the Buffy episode "The Pack"?); the men put on drag queen-sized high heels to prance down the runway for Tila's amusement; the lesbians had to deal with those annoying "are you really gay or just 'experimenting'?" questions from ignorant straight men. But all of that paled in comparison to the show's challenge of the night: a foam party. (If you missed it, watch the whole thing on MTV.com.)
Yes, the nearly nude cast got down and sudsy in a big plastic life-sized washtub full of foam. Sarah Pecora and I couldn't resist. In our vlog this week, we re-created some of that foamy goodness. (No, people, we didn't get foamy. You'll just have to watch our vlog to see how we did it!)
In addition to the foam, we discussed five-ish things we liked in this week's episode, as well as five-ish things we disliked, so we wanted to ask you guys what you thought as well: What did you like and dislike about this week's episode? How do you think you would have reacted to the big "I'm a bisexual" reveal? And most perplexing of all: Is Ashley drunk or stupid? But before I set you loose on the ever-evolving Lo-Down, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the stellar butch fashion tips that you shared last week. Opposable thumbs!
I haven't seen the show, but it sounds like you two are very brave for watching this crap. A lesbian dating show would've been trashy too, but this is certainly worse!
I'm also awake enough to know to put down my coffee when you start with the re-enactments. And I don't even think you two were on Tequila for that! Hilarious! I almost lost it when I saw the "men" in the foam. And it's a little scary to think about how much that resembled my Barbie-Doll playing days. (oh I shouldn't admit that!)
As funny as the Tila Tequila snark is, I hope you'll be going to back to talking about other women as well. Women who aren't scary! Although Lala does sound awesome.
Thanks for the fun. Love the shirts and ties!
My abs haven't had that much
My abs haven't had that much of a workout since I was in school! I don't think I've laughed that much over a doll re-enactment.
Anyway as Shasta said, great wardrobe today! really liked it.
You win at life!
I don't watch this show because I really don't want to but I never miss your vblog. I laughed so hard at foam re-enactments, I had tears down my face. Malinda, you're so freakin' hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing.
Lala?! One of the
Lala?!
One of the teletubbies walked out on Tila? lmao
You two with a tie? Hot.
:)
Another good week. I can say for sure that I wouldn't be watching the show if not for the re-caps.
Was it the fighting guy who was voted off that said something like, "They're fucking dykes"? That pissed me off.
Anyway, the foam party was quite funny! And I totally agree about Lala and her decision to leave. I liked her a lot. Looking forward to what you guys have in store for next week -- Not really looking forward to what Tila has in store.
Oh wait. But what the hell is up with the giant bed? Yuck!

You two are awesome!
You two are awesome! You make me laugh so hard, your show is better than tila tequila! Great outfits btw...
Great job
Marcus
was also a jerk on the Janice Dickenson Modeling Agency...

This was the best thing
And by the way, Sarah, you're totally hot :)
Great vlog...
Your re-creation of the foam party was so much better than the actual one on the show.
You two are awesome. Keep it up!
i'm going with ashley is stupid
but the equal or below less confident quote especially... reminds me .... of a certain president..of the united states... ?
and "it's not a fetish, it's a way of life" would be a totally rad shirt.
loved the post foam party confessionals.
omg, inbd
I second that...
"and 'it's not a fetish, it's a way of life' would be a totally rad shirt."
I'd buy it. Hey Lori. <hint. hint.>
Typical straight man....
This show has a similar effect to that of a train wreck/car accident. You know you shouldn't look, but you can't help but stare.
Marcuswas rightfully booted off the show. He proved himself to be a typical straight man, ignorant and disrespectful. Not to mention homophobic or maybe that was just a cover up for his bruised ego. I'm sure I'm not the only one that caught the poorly bleeped out "dyke's" remark. Had I been the girl who's ass he slapped he would have received a permanent nose job!Friends don't let friends vote

Is the mildest adjective I can come up with to describe this show. I subjected myself to watching Ep 1 to get a feel of what it was about and although I was surprised that Tila is not an air-head (no, i'm not a fan of reality TV and such shows and I'm not condemning them - to each his own). Based on the promos I expected her to be and she really isn't and I can certainly give her credit for that. My contention though is with the destructive influences that this will have on each and every individual who gets voted off of that show. Mind you, I'm pretty sure that none of them were bound or held at gun-point to be a part of it, but I'm confident that they certainly did not know what they were getting into. These people (both male and female) are being set-up or should I say setting themselves up for heartache.
These are matters of the heart and they may put on a brave face and all but in the end but one will be left and all others would have in some way become attached to this one person who they won't be with in the end. For all intents and purposes, the one who wins will more than likely not be with her for a long shot. Why anyone would want to subject themselves to this (and even more so for all to watch) is beyond me.
I think I've rambled on enough. I cannot comment on the vlog because I haven't watched it but it's obvious that you guys are doing a great job of it, which is not surprising at all based on the material that AE puts out. Wishing all a very pleasant and enjoyable weekend.
I vote Stupidly Drunk, No Drunkenly Stupid
Okay, no adverbs needed. The man is just plain ole' stupid.
PS. I am so digging the ties.
www.myspace.com/blasianbeatnik02
I second that
I think that when Ashley was a child, he was left far, far behind. I feel for the kids he teaches. And I thought the formal look was a nice touch for a change. The ties are so retro.
Nice Ties.
God, that was funny. Best foam re-enactment ever.
I clapped for Lala as she left. That is probably the smartest thing ever seen someone do on a reality show. Ashley is the biggest tool. I truly think there is just a hamster running on treadmill inside his brain just shouting out random things.
Oh damn did I wanna smack Marcus for touching Sara's ass. That was so disrespectful. His mother obviously taught him nothing.
I think you two should continue to wear the ties. Especially Sarah.
LMAO Episode 2: Fantastic
I was a Lo-Down virgin...
until now and now I'm feeling a little..."below less" 'cause it's over :( lol ...great blog I'll be watching y'all from now on ;)
p.s. Sarah, you kinda look like my aunt's gf but with a great smile, ur laugh is contagious
"i don't suffer from insanity...i enjoy every minute of it"
First of all: You two both
First of all: You two both look great in the shirts and ties, but Sarah? OMFG, so hot!!!
I loved Lala but I was laughing so hard I almost choked when they showed her teetering down the driveway on those ridic heels.
I think Ashley is stupid, or perhaps stupid AND drunk. I loved when he admitted that several of his gfs had become lesbians. Lol. He is a lesbian-making machine! Either that or they just were so desperate to get away from him they said they'd switched teams... I imagine if I was being pursued by Ashley I would be like, "I'm sorry. I'm celibate. I'm a nun. I'm dying in three days. Just... get AWAY!!!"
The foam party re-enactment was hysterical. You guys are so, so funny. Keep up the great work!
Gimme some sugar!
LOL!
This was hysterical! I couldn't stop laughing at the reenactment, it was great!
Loved the shirts too, btw ;)
Best Lo-Down Ep so far, for sure!
At work
How much do I love you two?
How much?
I actually, finally watched the show. For. You two. Tie-wearin, coffee-drinkin, scene-reenactin' lesbians. That's how much...
and I am horrified to admit that, yes, I kinda liked it. lol And you two were right, Tila ain't half bad.
But I was dissappointed that she eliminated my 2 favs: Steffanie (finally, now I know what Shane would look like if she ran out of gel and ate a sandwich every once in while) and Grace (because how awesome would it have been to see TWO sexy Asians outside of a porno. Hey, I'm Filipina so that's not a fetish, it's a way of life!)
Lastly, I love you Sarah. I love you Malinda (may I call you Captain Mal?)
I agree, this show is very
I agree, this show is very exploitative and degrading. In fact, I tried to keep my disgust behind a straight face (and was doing pretty well) until Malinda and Sarah couldn't stop laughing behind the camera during the foam party re-enactment. Then I couldn't help myself. OMG too funny!
Great job you two. Keep it up!
I don't know about this show
I guess this show is as exploitive as any other reality dating show. Why the bikinis and high heels? The guys wore sandals. Hm. Just not into that.
Did you hear Tila talk to Lala about being friends? On a dating show? Whatev- girlfriend did the right thing! I laughed when she stumbled down the drive and finally took those shoes off.
I'm surprised that all the women are focused on Tila only. I wonder if any of them might be attracted to each other? Hmm.
I did make a face at that so called "alone" time (actually, I thought Tila said "one on one" time).
Why did she get rid of Grace and Stephanie? Even though I'm bisexual as well, I would have cut four guys. No problem. I think they all are yucky (except Eric maybe). Maybe the producers won't let Tila ditch all the guys at once.
Loved the re-enactment! rotflmao
Hot women should always do vlogs- especially when they wear ties! (mrrrowrr) love you Malinda! Sarah, call me!!! lol ; )
you're both a hoot!
Or two hoots!!! What a team :)
I don't watch this show, I don't think I want to, but it doesn't matter: LOVE your recaps! I almost fell off my chair in stitches this time, I was laughing so hard. LOVE your dry humour....love your pseudo newscaster stance : shirt, tie, hands clasped on the desk, stack of papers on it...
Ashley-elementary-school teacher....WTF? He's certainly below less!!!
Look forward to the next one.
Not so fond of Tila.
While I do think the show is absolutely absurd, I do find it mildly amusing. I don't really like Tila though. She seems so fake and skanky. She has made out with approximately 6 people in 2 episodes.
You guys do a great job recapping! I loved your Ashley quotes. I actually think he's a decent guy for standing up to Marcus in the first episode after his homophobic comments/trashing the Italian guy. He seems kind of sweet, just ignorant, slow, and chauvinistic. I guess that's paradoxical...
I do think that some of the guys are disrespectful, but it's also annoying how all the girls are like, "Ew! Guys! I hate men!" Perpetuating the man-hating lesbian stereotype just makes us lose face. At least Alex seemed like a good guy.
However, Malinda can rant about anything she wants. Because it's hot.
Below less...
Ashley is simply a moron, but an amusing one.
I think the women are upset about the fact that they are tricked into believing that there would be only lesbian contestants rather than Tila’s bisexuality.
Speaking of Tila’s bisexuality, I have to agree with you guys that Tila’s leaning waaay more towards women than men on the show. She always looks more comfortable and touchy-feely with the women and some of the them emerge as clear favorites. The guys on the other hand look like “a bunch of boneheads” (quoted from a guy).
Things I dislike about the episode:
1/ The men’s ogling at the women (which everyone could see it coming).
2/ Marcus and Ashley’s fight. A little drama to spice things up is fine but it takes too much air time.
3/ The “self-ranked 10” guy annoys me almost as much as the hyena guy. Typical arrogant, narcissistic jerk.
4/ The girls’ cattiness. Brandi’s big fat lie is shocking. See, vileness doesn’t discriminate sexual orientation.
5/ Marcus. Enough said.
On a brighter side, there are still things I like about the episode:
1/ The women’s being understanding and supportive of Tila.
2/ The drag queen fashion show.
3/ Some of the mommy’s boy comments are oddly hilarious.
4/ Eddie’s being so cute and shy. Sadly he’s gone :(
5/ Marcus is kicked off. Hallelujah!
The foam party reenactment is freaking hilarious. I’m a bit disappointed that you didn’t have Rebecca’s post-foam party confession. Anyhow, I can't wait for more wild reenactment in the upcoming episodes :D

""My love life is terrible. The last time I was inside a woman was when I visited the Statue of Liberty."
Tila is harmless
Sarah :-}
oh and by Sarah I mean the
Neither drunk nor stupid
Just a complete twonk.
This is what the official website says about him:
Ashley, a high school guidance counselor, is a loose cannon and cowboy at heart. Girls find his unpredictability and sense of humor charming, so he always has a bevy buzzing around him. But he doesn't usually remember their names. Bet he won't forget Tila Tequila's name anytime soon!
And I think the least said about that the better!
This is Amanda's bio:
Amanda is a tall, busty blonde who embraced being a lesbian after she realized she was bored with men.
There's more but I can't face it.
This v-blog is absolutely
Ashley is clearly both drunk and stupid.
I don't get the Lala love. I thought she came across as really dumb and kind of vapid in the first episode, and I didn't really understand her reasons for leaving. Like someone pointed out, she identified as bisexual, so why would she have such a problem being around men? She signed up to be on a reality show, but she didn't want drama? Really?
Also, I don't understand why everyone sees this show as the most extreme and degrading of all reality shows. To me, it seems like just another version of The Bachelor. Really, the only thing that sets it apart is that it focuses a bit more on partying and a little less on finding a soulmate. That, and the bisexual angle.
Oh, great vlog, though. This is turning out to be one of my favourite afterellen vlogs, if not *the* favourite. I love it!
All I can say is......
give me some suga'!!!
I think Ashley is just,.......... what is the phrase I am looking for?..........Oh yeah,.........BELOW LESS!
Sarah...
I heart Sarahs laugh....
f
OH my Sh*T
Well,, first of All..... Cheers for the POC gurls... since i'm asian..but.. seriously ..come on.. Tila.... that.s just wrong.. i mean the show .. i have no desire to watch that show.. but ur Vbolg.. heh e. Awsome !!.. wat a way to start a SUNDAY morning !!!.U gurls .. ROCK !!
Good question teclo
Sarah......
I have just delurked for the sole purpose of saying how hot Sarah is......which means.....pretty damn hot
I may at some point in the future say something of slightly more value but that was the only thing I had an overwhelming urge to comment on right now...
hilarious recap
can i just say that i just can't take my eyes off of sarah, and in that tie....stop playing with my femme sensibilities!
anyway, this show is like a car accident, you have a compulsion to slow down and look at the wreckage. although i feel like one of my brain cells atrophy (or just commit suicide because they can't take the pain) each minute i watch this show (or i love new york or charm school or oh hell, the real world) i can't tear my eyes away.
i have a couple of issues with the show:
how old is ashli? she looks and acts like a 15 year old. the other ashley is just stupid. i know plenty of drunks capable of lucid, and (somewhat) intelligent conversation, so putting him in that category would just be insulting to them. the worst part is that this fool is teaching children. good lord, somebody help those impressionable babies. why does amanda look and sound like a blow up doll come to life? and as for marcus, i wish he or any other chauvinistic piece of crap guy would try to grab my ass. i would have kicked him so hard where the sun don't shine he would have been begging to leave the show. and that would've been after my first uppercut to his jaw. besides steffanie and dani being way too hot for tila, they seem out of place on the show. i think tila generally has an affinity for the more feminine ladies. i'd be happy to take both of them off her hands.
the bathtub foam party, the deadpan looks, and all snarky commentary had me rolling. you guys have a hilarious dynamic. can't wait for the next vblog
its a reality show. i'm sure
Three words:
Best. Reenactment. EVER!

Obsessive? Me? Never!
yes!
this is the best vlog ever. i can't get enough of the trashiness that is tila tequila, and i definitely can't get enough of the lo-down recaps. the foam party was hilarious!
also, did anyone catch when ashley called his rosary a ROSEMARY?! that guys is drunk AND dumb as hell. i don't want him anywhere near any children!
i'm so sad that tila got ride of stephanie. i guess i could see it coming, but i'm still sad. she was so hot. well, not as hot as sarah and malinda, but close.
i made a mistake watching the show with a huge group of people (all of them straight) and some of them were making some pretty rude comments about the butch girls. i won't make that same mistake again.
So So Funny
OMG!!! You girls are too funny....I loved the foam party btw! Cant wait for next week..do you reallly think that a girl slept wit one of the guys??? What about Rebecca and that other girl making out! I cant wait to hear what you have to say on that!!
Laters, Yan
PS> Love the ties too..SOOOO HOTT!!!
LOVE IT !!
Meh finally found some time to check out your V-Blog..Got caught up on all the shows..U guys are a great team..No Lie allya had meh doing meh ghetto laugh da whole time..Can't wait to see da next one..Meh Gwan..Have a good week..
MEH PLEAD DA FIF CUZ WITHHOLDING ISN'T DA SAME AS LYING
This vlog completes me.
I have to say my discovery of your vlog was the best holiday present for me this year...this show is such a guilty pleasure - and like, really really guilty. The mysogynistic things that are said on the show just zip past you and I keep pausing to throw things at the screen, like "WHOA...what did you just say??? Are you kidding me???" So thank you for restoring my sanity and making me feel like not the only outraged feminist in the room. <3 Also, Sarah is a TOTAL HOTTIE! Butches are so rare these days, and that always saddens me. So thanks to Sarah for keeping the love alive!
Hopefully there aren't too many people watching the show to actually learn what lesbians are really about, but at least MTV is an equal-opportunity scandal machine. Bisexuality is (falsely, duh) portrayed as a state of confusion and half-assed sluttiness, but at least all the hetero men are dumb as rocks, unbearably sexually aggressive and disrespectful, and predictable/boring. It's like every other piece of pop garbage that completely trashes a man's ability to have a real relationship and hurts men more than anyone else. I also want to thank this show for making me soooooooo freaking happy I am gay.
I think anyone watching (at least all my straight girlfriends) would agree that they would rather be dating the womyn on the show and not the men.
I don't understand why Marcus was not arrested and charged for sexual harrassment for what he did right in front of Tila - and ON CAMERA. I'm glad Tila had the sense to finally eliminate him, but how he got those womyn to forgive him is completely ridiculous. That apology?? Seriously?
Why do we let people get away with behavior like that? I do'nt understand.
