We're Getting Nowhere: The AfterEllen.com NYC Meet-UpLast week, Jill Bennett, Dara Nai and I violated our collective parole and descended upon New York City. Our objective? To Along the way, we also sprung AE vlogger Bridget McManus (Brunch with Bridget, You Can't Take Them Anywhere), Dara's partner Brooke, AE vlogger Dee (Come With Me If You Want to Live), the 3Way gals (Maeve Quinlan, Nancylee Myatt, Paige Bernhardt), Oscar-winning make-up artist Tami Lane, actor/comedian Gloria Bigelow, and Big Gay Sketch Show star Kate McKinnon.
We were shocked and thrilled by the sheer number of AE readers willing to brave the rain and allow us to make the pleasure of their acquaintance. Thank you to everyone for coming out to say hello! Since not all of you who wanted to be there could make it, we shot some video footage of our journey to the meet-up (including a heated discussion about power tools) and our time at Cowgirl. Look closely and you may even catch a glimpse of yourself at the restaurant! (Hopefully, you weren't playing hookey from work that day like I was. Doesn't it seem like the boss is always watching?)

The Meet-Up Rocked!
Even though it was raining, i had such a good day!

The meet up was totally worth the flight there and back :D
And meeting the rest of the AE gang made up for the fact you could barely move inside that place, it was so packed!

It was such an enjoyable time at Cowgirl. The ladies are even more beautiful in person than on the vlog and could not have been more friendly and genuine. It was nice to meet the 'stars' as well as other AE readers.
I highly recommend an AE Meet to anyone who can get to go.

I agree with you Cass Sydney to NY is a bit far for a weekend, it did look like a fun meet and greet from the pictures that i have seen and from this vlog.
I think and i hope that the AE and 3Way crew come down under What's not to love about Australia? they could go swimming at Sydney's Bondi Beach, by the way why is it so famous, is it because Paris Hilton went swimming there?,.
if they did come to Aus i would be so excited, i would miss a day off of school just to meet them (that's if i was still at school if they ever came). Do you think if we beg and beg some more and keep begging and promise to be Sarah's minions (you can never have enough minions) in Australia that they would come.
Sarah Warn is so cool, but im still stumped as to why i have a huge crush on her.

Anyways, counting down the days till the LWord recaps for season 1. I was checking the logoonline schedule, not sure if I was reading it right, but it appears as though season 1 repeats won't be starting till the end of June. I believe its June 26th. Could someone confirm this? Sure is an awfully long time to wait for WGN. But filler vlogs have been fun :D, something to tide us over.

power drills
I wish there were dykes w/ a passion for power drills around in NYC when I locked myself out of my apt this weekend and had to pay waaaay too much money (more than Bridget pays for her multiple spaztic injuries/incidents :( ) for a locksmith to drill me into my apt.

Wow, nice to see all the vloggers in one vlog. Wish I could have been there!!! Cool to hear that the AE ladies were ready to defend Jill with all they're worth. I think all the lesbians around the world are ready to step up and defend the AE ladies, if needed.
Is it sure that some of the AE Ladies are coming to the Netherlands? If so when? (august 1-3 would be logical because of th Gay Pride but I'm sure don't hope so because I'm on vacation then). I should come out of the closet then if I want to come.

I was in on that conversation about Power Drills and be able to put in my two cents worth!
Found myself in couple of the pics, way cool! Loved the bar story that Jill told...reminded me of few clueless clowns that had hit on me and another girl I was with that was also my softball teammate. Ronnie had clocked the one guy that gave us the most trouble, the cops came and hauled him away...later after he made bail I guess...he comes back to the bar and I saw him coming in, he was making a beeline for Ronnie, she didn't see him, and before he reached her -I clocked him! The bouncer even got a few kicks in because the clown made the bar look bad! Ya don't mess with two redheads! Hee...I am still flying high from the meet n greet! I am sooooo glad I was able to go and meet all of you lovely ladies. Bridget and Jill and Karman....WOW! I had so much fun snuggling with Bridget for the camera.(Take close look at avatar pic ;P) Yummy!
Thank you Sarah for making it all happen! I hope you will do it again next year at a bigger venue...although Cowgirl had slammin food! LOVED their french fries...the service was really great too. Mucho Gracias for accepting my suggestion for the group shout of ALL the AE ladies in attendance. (The idea was really Shannon's, I was just the mouth piece)
Best part of my gettting there early, besides enjoying really great food, was the opportunity of meeting Shannon (IMTHEY) and I am really happy that a friendship was born. It seemed as if we knew each other for years, we fell into an easy, comfortable conversation during the three hours before the AE girls arrived. KEWL!
