I hated that scene in the pilot as well. It bothered me on so many levels that I still cringed upon re-watching. However, I loved the pilot when it aired and couldn't wait to see more. Every week was like Christmas that year..every year after that (excluding the last season) was like Halloween; fun but a little scary.

Anyway, loved the nipple clamps! Great idea...I've never been able to decide whether the Bette "spasm" was hot or awkward..the debate continues...

Loved the re-enactment of Jenny crawling into bed with Tim. "Musky" *snort*

Even got a kick out of Jill's Howard Dean scream at the end :)

i just started watching the L Word 2 years ago.  it was over winter break and season 4 was about to start and they were showing reruns of season 3. i went back and watched Seasons 1-3 on the internet and completely fell in love with it. i feel like i've been watching it since it first started lol!

I so agree that the scene where Bette and Tina invited some random guy home to make Tina preggers was so over the top.  I’ve always hated that scene.  Who would do that?  Well, maybe because Tina was bi she would agree, but would a lesbian (Bette) really agree to have a threesome with a guy?  None that I know would.

However, I think you have it all wrong for your reasons for Jenny crying.  She cried because she’s a freak.  No excuse for it other than she’s creepy.

The sock puppet interpretation was hysterical!!!  My grade for the pilot:  B.  Only because it was after all the first show about lesbians by lesbians.  But not an A because well, see the first paragraph, and the second, above.

I really need to pull out my DVDs.

While I do agree that scene with the threesome was way over the top, I just think they wanted to show the intensity or rather Bette and Tina's impatience in trying to have a baby.  Stupid idea, but i get what they were going for.  FYI Carmen is introduced midway through the second season, I believe.

I've been waiting for this for so long! It's really only been a week, but it seemed like forever. I would have LOVED to see everyone's version of Tina talking on the phone. Any impersonation of Tina is always fun...Please feel free to make fun of Tina as much as you want!  I love the 3 of you.. You kick so much ass.

I agree, the groping in the bathroom was a bit much, but not half as bad as the Bette and Tina threesome.

I agree about the whole boob grope a little too much in the bathroom scene when i first kissed a girl i didnt go straight for the boob and i don't think people do, but we are talking about a show that has shane with all the bridemaids, mother and nearly the bride who chase her down the street so honestly you expect the not so subtle touches, besides i think in a way they tried to make up for the shoved down our throats hetro sex we had to sit through!

You're right they changed Shane because people complained that they were all too femme. And I thought Tina and Bette's looking for donors story was a bit poor on consistency too. I never liked the scne were they just trawled the party and asked random guys - or that student...ick.

I loved the scene when Alice and Dana promise to never have sex. I was like...heh yeh right. Episode 2 and the "soup chef" (hehehe) next!!
