We're Getting Nowhere: "The L Word" Season 1, "Lies, Lies, Lies"Just when you thought it was safe to back into The Planet, Marina and Jenny are up to their old tricks, with chemistry so palpable they could set the place on fire (I hope Marina is properly insured). Their little tryst in the unisex bathroom is just one of several highlights we cover from this week's episode of The L Word. Others include Tina and Bette getting some Big News (i.e. Tina's pregnant), the introduction of Lisa, the "lesbian-identified man" (huh?), and Peggy Peabody kicking some CAC ass on behalf of Ms. Porter. Come to think of it, I hope the CAC has fire insurance too, because Peggy Peabody is on fire!.
We also throw in a couple of reenactments, including the sock puppet reunion of Dana and Lara after Dana's embarrassing bedroom "incident." Luckily, socks are washable.

The reenactments this week were hilarious, especially the Marina voicover: "Jen, I'm using my sexual mind control." ROFL
It's funny, I thought Marina was the hottest woman ever when The L Word first aired, but now I'm not finding her the least bit appealing. I guess my taste has changed.

I've been waiting for this all day (well I've really been waiting a whole week, but you know) refreshing like a maniac! Loved the whole Jenny/Tim thing, it was fan-bloody-tastic! And as another one said, the filthy Dana, Lara and Alice thing, LOVED IT!

Yeah I miss my funny Alice moments.....they have been few and far in between since she got with Tasha:-(
I really thought they were gonna write them differently than they did I thought that the cool thing about the Ice-T relationship was gonna be how serious Tasha is and how hilarious Alice is and really explore what it would be like to have the comic relief on the show in a relationship with someone who is so serious and so reserved......but actually all they've done is stress Alice the hell out...and now shes almost as serious as Tasha

edit: although I never cared for the Lisa lesbian identified man plotline I get why he was supposed to be different from just a man who wanted to be equal. 'Cus in a later episode i think where he sleeps with Alice its shown how he wouldn't want to have 'straight' sex using his uhm.. manhood, or you know anything which would make him feel like he was a straight guy.. and when Alice convinces him to do so he gets pretty narked..'just sayin' =)

and teacher crushes.. one thing to miss about school, 'cus none of the teachers in sixth form or uni have been attractive but i can think of at least 3 super attractive teachers from school.. i actually think that one of them in particular is the biggest crush i have ever had.. like even now years after i'd say i'd pick her over anyone i know/celebrity. ..now she's had kids with the teacher who taught next door to her.. *sigh*

the first season of this show was so my favorite and it's so great to watch you all giving your collective take on it. it seems like you guys were having more fun with this one than you have been with the past couple,which makes watching even better. BTW,Jill if you were anymore perfect of a woman it would be painful to watch,you're awesome.all of you are.

Loved the reenactments, especially the one with Marina/Jenny and Tim. I can safely say that I never cared about Marina during the show, but I LOVE this version of her. lol. The voice of Karman makes it perfect!

I had issues too, but in high school...i had a huge crush on my AP Biology teacher..but unlike most sane people I actually told her about it!
She thought it was funny but kinda cool and we had a cool semi-inappropriate relationship til I graduated...I'm trying to actually accomplish something in life just so I can come back and impress her...maybe try again, hey I'm not her student anymore. So what she's married, 20 years older than me, and straight....I see those as fun little obstacles!

they have to edit out
bare breasts/nudity (or pixilate) and the 7 words you can't say on television here in the U.S. As an example, on WGN's recap for the first episode, if I recall correctly, mentioned how Bette, after trying to give oral pleasure to Tina in the Ob/Gyn's office to help the insemination process, wiped her mouth when she came up out of the sheets. Logo edited that out. We saw Bette come out from the sheets, but no mouth wipe. Showtime can show nudity and such, as they are a premium pay cable channel. Logo is not a premium channel like showtime or HBO, and thus has to adhere to FCC guidelines, if I understand that correctly. Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
