As if accosting people on the red carpet, showing off her splits technique during the improv, and singing a vaguely inappropriate "sorority" song to Sarah Warn weren't enough, she also performed at the Logo Comedy Cocktail Hour. I am a server at Red Lobster and it's hysterical listening to people rave about the biscuits. If I don't have biscuits out to a table in 30 seconds, I have people yelling at me to bring the 'cheesy muffins'. I've only worked there for 7 months and I can barely look at them anymore!

Sorry abot the shouting; the people asking for the muffins are probably my relatives. They can be so embarassing sometimes!

However, one needs to keep in mind that adolescents watch whatever is in front of them on the web and that's reason enough to keep the bad language to a minimum. I too find the beeps annoying. It would be better just to cut the sound instead. Or, since the people being filmed know they are doing it for Afterellen, they should just clean up the language. It has nothing to do with Logo, but I'd have said the same thing if I hadn't read Sarah's explanation somewhere else. :)

You know, even though the
You know, even though the base of a lot of the jokes was "old" I love the way she weaved in new material--like the stuff about being bottle fed, the allergies (what does she need to eat now;), and the song "if I was straight". This and her ability to deliver and modify it based on the crowd response is what I think makes her such a great comic.
Its interesting comparing her style and the style of someone like Liz Feldman. Both are hillarious women but with such different approaches. I would love to see them in a "joke off". Perhpas Liz can be the next BWB guest?

I was waiting for this!!!! I love it! I’ve been singing the “I will love you, until the lease runs out” song for days, so I was really excited when she started singing it! But people didn’t seem to react much to that one. That’s just wrong! I didn’t know some of the jokes, so I had even more fun watching this! THE BEST DINAH SHORE VIDEO! This one and the other Bridget stand-up!

Bridget's set was hilarious but I feel that she would have done even better had the crowd cheered more. Come on, people! Same thing with the improv... what, can't lesbians clap?! :D

"what's her name?" - stupid audience member
At the beginning, Suzanne Westenhoefer says the next comedian has her own vlog called Brunch with Bridget and then someone from the audience asks "what's her name?" Pretty dumb.
Also, I want to see the parts that Karman had to edit out. Like after Bridget says "I eat p---y," the video cuts ahead. We all know that Bridget's raunchiness was probably awesome at that point. I guess I'll have to go see it at her Tall, Dark and Random show on May 8th. So excited!

Am I the only one
who finds all the comments about having sex with men (for food no less) and jokes about not liking sperm anymore, to be annoying and crass, but not in the least bit funny? The abosolute worst part was ending with the comment about having sex with her dad. That just gives straight people more ammunition against gays by insisting that we are only gay because our parents messed us up, so we chose to be gay instead.
Bridget, I love your "Brunch with Bridget" series and can tell that you are a funny person, but you need to get some new material, hon. If your act is centered around being a lesbian then tell jokes about being a lesbian, not being a lesbian who would do it with a man for the right price. Your act appears to be geared toward a straight audience, who might appreciate the lame humor about you jumping into a vat of sperm, or whatever, with a man. But, your audience at Dinah were lesbians! All I can think of is Yuck! Think about it, Bridget, if you were hanging out with your lesbian friends and one of them kept talking about men and their penis', would you encourage her to continue, or would you ask her to change the subject? All you need to do is refer back to your own vlog when a straight guest kept talking about men and how she would only do you if she was tired of doing men, and you were not only turned off by it, but found it highly insulting. Know your audience. Don't insult us. We want to be there for you. We want you to be successful. We just don't want to hear about your sexcapades with men.

That's how I feel too. I actually thought the "Dad" joke was hilarious the first time I heard it. Then again, I tend to enjoy an over-the-top, dirty joke every now and then. But to each their own.
Also, Bridget: I hear you on the Red Lobster! Those things ARE good. And the "I love you 'til the lease runs out" song is freaking great. That's totally something anyone could relate to, gay or straight.

Gotta say that I don't
Gotta say that I don't agree. I think that she's not being inappropriate with her jokes. Yeah, they're dirty at times but like another commenter said, its really highlighting the stupid things straight people say in their misunderstandings about Lesbians. If you don't "look" like a lesbian, you get some ignorant things said to you, which Bridget has talked about on her blog. I think Michelle Paradise said it best during her BWB: when you look at Bridget, you don't "expect" gay. So when she makes these jokes she's actually sending home an important message that just because you're pretty and femme dosen't mean you had to have had something traumatic happen to you to "make" you queer.
Plus, that Santa joke about the tip is just funny, i'm sorry. Raunchy, yes, but IMO funny as all hell.
But hey--the beauty of comedy is that not everyone has to agree :)

I have to agree with the posters above me. Bridget is speaking to her audience.
As someone who's had the fortunate of seeing her live, she speaks the truth. I watched a straight male comic who went up after her ask if she's "really a lesbian". How effing retarded. She was annoyed, I was annoyed, as was my friend. Of course, some other jackass in the crowd had to say, "She's too pretty to be a lesbian". Wtf, right? And, she gets that all the effing time. (My friend asked.) So, I think she's drawing from her (and many others) real life experience in dealing with heterosexual society and their ignorance regarding the gay community.
Either way, Bridget, I'm glad I got to hear the new stuff again. My brain was a little less than there and completely distracted by the surrealness of seeing you on stage so, I forgot quite a bit.
In conclusion, Bridget McManus rocks my effing socks.
P.S. Bridget, please sing more. I heart the singing.

Hey, I totally get why she jokes
about those things. I get it all the time myself. I'm so tired of the line, "you're only a lesbian because you haven't had a good man yet, let me show you....and you won't be a lesbian anymore." Yes, it does get tiring. But, my point is this, most of her straight crowd probably walks out of the theatre shaking their heads and wondering how much of her joking around is based on fact. Because people believe that whatever you joke about most probably is based on fact. That's why I feel it sets a bad precedent to joke about how she's a lesbian because she was abused. Those men who said she couldn't be a lesbian were probably saying that because she talked about how much fun sex was with men in college and how she doesn't have sex with men - anymore. They're thinking she just needs a good man to show her what she's missing and she'll change her mind..... Personally, I prefer to educate the ignorant with the truth and not leave them thinking the same ignorant assumptions people have about gays and lesbians must be the truth because she's joking about them. We get it because we know better, they honestly don't have a clue.

i think...
a lot were bridget fans and has already seen/heard her jokes before. with the exception of the new ones, i've heard the other ones about 8 times already...so i was just chuckling all the way through since i've already knew what was coming...
...also, was it me, or did she seem just slightly nervous? like she's performed this stuff so many times already, it's like muscle memory, and it's hard to tell...but it seemed to me she was slightly nervous about something...
