Stuntwoman Zoë Bell kicks ass as "The Angel of Death"

Zoë Bell fans, rejoice! Bell's new web series, Angel of Death, premiered this week on Crackle.com, and it's a wild and bloody ride.

In it, the former Xena stunt woman/actress Bell plays Eve, an assassin who takes on her targets with lethal precision. That is, until now. In the premiere episode, "Edge," we follow Eve on a mission gone awry.

How awry?

Yep, that's an x-ray of Eve's head.

Here's the official description of the series:

Nobody looks for the Beretta, when all they see is a slinky chick in a cocktail dress. Noir comic book legend Ed Brubaker cuts deep with the story of Eve, a hot woman with a heart of ice. Zoe Bell steps in as an assassin haunted by visions after a bloody encounter with a very big knife. In this, the most ambitious web series ever created, Zoe makes bare knuckle boxing a thing of beauty, and a head wound as sexy as sin. Lucy Lawless, Doug Jones, and Ted Raimi all show up for the ride, but few come out alive. If the sight of blood bothers you, just keep your eyes on her other assets, and remember she can grab your heart with her looks or her hand, your choice.

They already had me (and probably many of you) at Zoë Bell, especially after watching her outrageous stunts in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof (and watching her beat the crap out of a murderous Kurt Russell), but adding Lucy Lawless to the mix? It's lesbian marketing genius!

Lucy Lawless isn't in the premiere episode, but she'll appear soon as, Vera, "Eve’s curious next-door neighbor, who learns too much, and gets tangled in Eve’s web." (And, no, I don't think " Eve's web" is a euphemism for something naughty.)

You can watch the first episode, "Edge," below, but, be warned, it's pretty violent. A new episode will air every weekday through March 13.

I watched the first episode and my only gripe was Bell's awful wig in the hit scene. You'd think with the money they obviously spent on the production, somebody could have set aside an extra $50 for a decent wig!

But the bad (fake) hair wasn't a deal-breaker for me. I thought it was a compelling first episode and I will definitely be tuning in again to see how the ER personnel will be extracting that blade.

    I saw the trailer for this a while ago but had no idea it'd started.  I absolutely adore Zoe Bell, she was amazing in Death Proof.  And the promise of Lucy Lawless and Ted Raimi as well?  What's not to love?

    Just watched the second episode. This looks fantastic. Zoe Bell is amazing. Loved her in Death Proof. I can't wait to see her and Lucy acting together.  

    My only complaint is that the episodes are too short. But at least we don't have to wait a whole week between ep's like some other web series'.

    Ok, so I'm pretty much a dude and I love anything with loads of action, gore and a good plot. But I have to say that I screamed like a little girl when I saw that knife stuck in her head. I mean a high-pitched squeal. I have never ever screamed like that. So I am embarrassed but will definitely continue to watch.

    I just saw the premiere of the first ep on Saturday at Wonder Con. Zoe was there and was her usual adorable, profanity ladden self! I love this woman and will keep following Angel of Death and wish her all good things in her career!

    Zoe was also kind enough to sign a few autographs and pose for pics with fans. I had her sign a pic of her and I from a Xena con a few years ago and also her Wonder Con name placard - she apologized since she said she'd torn a piece out of it to put her gum in - so funny!

    Can't wait for the rest of Angel of Death and some Lucy Lawless on top (ahem!) to boot - bring it on!

    I just love anything with woman fighting. So I don't even need to say what I think about this show. Zoe Bell is amazing on it and I can't wait for Lucy Lawless to appear.

    zoe is so fierce in these webisodes. i read an interview with lucy lawless where she expressed interest in doing more on this series and returning to her "old hooker" character, as she called it. wherever it goes, i will be watching.

    oh yeah, i spent weeks on the edge of my couch waiting to see her on lost, one episode, 2 min (tops!) and gone, this makes my day!!!!!

    It was actually pretty good compared to other web series (is it both singular and plural like deer? oh well IDK) It looked like quality filming instead of crappy handheld filming........I think I would watch it anyways if it was bad just to hear her accent........it's a new zealand accent like lucy lawless but it doesn't sound weird when she talks........ When lucy lawless talks with her normal accent it's kinda weird to listen to since I'm used to how she talked when playing Xena.

    I havent watched the epi yet coz im at work and that just wouldnt be right ;-).

    BUT did anybody else notice Lucy's hand in that photograph? It looks really aged? I mean i think i know what her hand usually looks like(many many Xena reruns;-), but it kinda looks like my grandma's hand and shes 91 years old. Im hoping its make up for the scene, coz i would feel very sorry for that beautiful lady ;-).

    Yesterday I hadn't problems, obviously something's goes wrong, I hope they'll can fix it pretty soon because I really want to watch the third episode.

    If I wrote something wrong please let me know, I'm still in level "padawan" of writing.
