~Sarah (there are many of us out there)
I love Sarah Warn. What a
I love Sarah Warn. What a legend! I'm so glad she made AfterEllen with her self-taught HTML. She's actually possibly one of my heroes.
Go here for my view on all things lesbian: http://allthingslesbeau.blogspot.com
... Sarah; I Love you :D
yeahhhhhh
Thank You Sarah Warn
I discovered this site at 18, I'm 22 now, and it has changed my life tremedously. Damn near all of my friends visit Afterellen daily. You keep us up to date on all the stuff the regular media could careless about.
You have introduced us to artists, actresses, muscians, arthuors, directors, comediennes, political figures who would've other wise remained unknown if it wasn't for you. You have helped improve the lives of thousands of women who, without this site, would've thought there was nothing out there that represented them.
You, Sarah Warn, are a trailbazer and one of my heroes.
Thank you for being you :o)
Bummer!
Vid is not working for me... keeps stopping at 14 secs :(
Sarah rocks though!
awesome
I did not know she's the one
THANK U!!!!!!!!
I am normal =D hahahahaha, AfterEllen helped me felt like that.
xoxo
SARAHHHH!!!
I owe some much of my life to Sarah Warn for creating Afterellen (um HELLO didn't know she created Afterelton, thought logo just ran with the AE idea)!!!!
I discovered this site when I was in 10th grade and was trying to figure out who I was and she's absolutely right, after becoming a regular visitor on the site I felt normal I realized some people are gay, some are bi, and some are straight and some fall in grey areas but we're all just people.
The music I listen to, the community I've become apart of, the people I talk to online, to now me having my own blog and writing and interviewing people-it all started here. Everything that makes me who I am today can somehow be traced back to me discovering this site.
Thank YOU Sarah Warn:)

A real role model!
I have been a fan of Sarah Warn since I was about 19, and I came to the same realization that Sarah did. I remember staying up late to read afterellen.com in my dorm room, because I didn't want my roommate to see. It feels like afterellen.com has grown and changed with me. I've gone through coming out, making out, breaking up, making up, moving across the country, and finally, moving across the world! And through it all, afterellen.com and Sarah Warn seemed to be right there with me. She has definitely created a really amazing online community.
I also love that afterellen.com has become its own content provider. It doesn't just find and review other lesbian content, it produces a lot of its own! This site is on the cutting edge of future media and technologies. It's an exciting place to be. You never know what new thing you will discover while scrolling through these pages. At the risk of sounding too dramatic, it's kind of magical.
Great work Sarah, and good luck in the future!
Sarah, thank you soooo much

True story.
This site normalized what homosexuality was for me. The best possible thing for a teenager without any resources in the gay community. I joined the site when I was 17. Read and watched all the media covered throughout the site. Engaged with others going through similar situations. And eventually came to terms with myself. It's been 2 years now, and I have to say I wouldn't be who I am today without this place.
Sarah Warn created something beautiful. Cheers to her!
Dear Sarah Warn,
I miss Sarah Warn!
I'm also another one of many readers of this site who thankfully came across this site when I was only in 9th grade and starting to question my sexuality. This site saved me from a lot of inner turmoil as it showed me that homosexuality is normal. I had nothing to be afraid or ashamed about in admitting that I was attracted to girls.
Now, 4 years down the line, I am still visiting this site every single day and discovering more about myself and this community.
Thank you Sarah for creating this site all those years ago, and thank the friend who said you should put together a website :)
The Puppy Love episode was
The Puppy Love episode was indeed a turning point for lesbian visibility.
The founding of afterellen.com was even bigger.
Sarah Warn, you deserve great appreciation
every1 said it
but i feel like repeating so: THANK YOU SARAH!
WE LOVE YOU!

Thank you Sarah!
I'm just one of the many here who've been around for a while. Not quite from the beginning, but for at least 7 years or so.
This site is my number one read every day.
Thanks Sarah! Have to admit though: Have been missing you since you left!
Dear Sarah
Thank you for all your hard work on AfterEllen.com over the years. It has and will remain an inspirational site for me as I came out nearly five years ago and my sexuality became normal to me as a result of being on this website and I love all of the content and blogs that appear on here! Good luck Sarah with your new job and cheers.

she's right - it is hard to
Yup!
There are really not enough thank yous in the world
...so i'm adding mine. Yes, thanks AE and thanks Sarah. I have made friends through this site, it's keeping me entertained and a little less isolated from queer issues.
an inspiring person
Thank You Sarah Warn!
I came across this site on accident almost 5 years ago, and haven't stopped checking it at least once a day. It's been awesome to see the change in Lesbian visibility worldwide throughout these past years. It's also been cool to meet other lesbians and bi-women from around the world.
Can't thank you enough, Sarah! You are definitely a pioneer and legend in my book.
Sarah Warn inspired tellofilms.com
Because of Sarah and the focus she put on the lack of lesbian content Nicole Valentine and I decided to start tellofilms.com to give lesbians a one stop site to upload, watch and enjoy great content.
Sarah has also been so great about availing herself to the community. She sat down with us for a half an hour once to chat about tello and how we can make it better.
We are both huge fans of Afterellen and appreciate how it helps bring the community together on lesbian media issues. Thanks Sarah- this is so very well deserved.
Check out and upload great lesbian videos on www.tellofilms.com
Yes, thank you Sarah
Thank you again. I read the site and sometimes I feel that it is not the same without Sarah Warn around. But I can imagine how great and satisfied Sarah must feel knowing that the site can run without her...and of course, thanks to Karman and the rest of the staff. Great job :)
Sarah Rocks!
Nice to see Sarah again. I sure miss her and Lori's videos. They were a great part of the beginnings of AE.
Thanks for all the hard work and bringing us wonderful content and introducing great people to all of us!
Aww I LOVE Sarah!
I really miss having Sarah be an everyday part of Afterellen. I also miss the vlog "she made me watch this" It was always funny and informative lol. Sigh Oh Sarah i heart you!
You are responsible for your own happily ever after !
thank you
Sarah, you have changed SO many lives with this site. And yes, by spending so much time here, it does feel like the whole word is gay - how fantastic! You are wonderful, thank you for your time and energy.

Congrats to Sarah
Congrats to Sarah, for her much deserved notice by the Legacy Campaign. We have probably all thought, "Gee, there should be a site that...." the difference is that Sarah DID IT.

lauren...
I couldn't agree with you more except she definitely is one of my personal heroes..
Lauren - I am one of your many followers on your blog..gr8 by the way..anyway this site [AfterEllen] has indeed allowed me to think and feel normal about who I am and to have a great sense of pride and knowledge about myself and like-minded folks around the world.
Now I boast that I have the largest collection of lesbian movies and music of any gay person in my country..although that isn't saying much its a small island..lol.
Thanks AfterEllen and thanks Sarah...
Sarah Warn
Thanks everyone!
Wow, thanks for all the nice comments! Really touching to read about some of your experiences with the site.
As for the video itself — I swear I did actually take a few breaths during the interview, they just edited those out. ;)
I really do enjoy reading the content on AfterEllen.com even more now that I don't have to be in charge of it. It's been a great way to keep up on all the interesting queer entertainment going on — because seeing a lesbian on an American TV show that isn't Grey's Anatomy still feels like spotting a unicorn. ;)
Keep up the good work!
Thank You! What an inspiring story and I would like to add here my personal experience with the site.. It's very important for me to be able to read these stories and news (ON DAILY BASIS) that would go unnoticed in the mass media/mainstream media but one of the greatest things is the fact that AE is not only about American news/context - it's also international and I believe because of AE, we, outside the us, enjoy our own "AE"s today.. so thank you for paving the road!

*--You Can't Pray Away The Gay--*
Thanks Sarah!
Sometimes this site definitely makes me feel like "the whole world is gay and everyone is fine with it" and that's so awesome; especially for those coming out who live in places where people are really not fine with it.
I think...
