    Sega Superstars Tennis

That game reminds me of Mario Tennis, which is the only reason I stay awake in Marketing class (I have the game on my laptop)

As for running and jumping on a shopping cart, there's this hardware-ish store called Canadian Tire, and they have a lights section, and in one aisle there are motion sensor lights, so my younger sister and I try to sneak past them without them turning on. We push the cart down the aisle and then once the lights go off we sprint after it. Hours of fun. I'm turning 20 tomorrow and she is turning 18 in June and we still do it.

    SCRAAAAPLAAAND!!

Eeep I'm having a conniption here!! Not only do you answer my question, provide me with entertainment, but now I get swag too!! Life is just tooo good. Oh and Angela, I feel we know each other well enough now, tha I can tell you I'm totally in love with your girlfriend. Its the accent, I'm addicted to Scottish girls, and when one does an adorable mimed dislike of Halo 2 and gives me an exclusive D-tritus statuette, well what was I supposed to do. I suspect since you're the one getting the daybed with her you can probably sympathize. But believe me, you can BOTH visit whenever you like:)

You girls are just the lovliest thing on this big ol' planet. Thank you so much. So, 360 here I come. And yay for being able to play scrapland on it, though I suspect it might be a bit difficult to find the game, but I will die trying. So, should I PM you my address or what? Not that I'm eager to get it or anything(pssst.. that was sarcasm, just so you know;)

WHOOOPEE! See what I mean about the conniption thing, I've just turned into a blethering idiot now. I'm going to go.... Thank you again! *squeeee

    YAY!

Thank you so much for the recommendations. I "bribed" one of my friends into going out and buying Heavenly Sword while I was in class, and as an added bonus I don't have to figure out how to plug the game system in.

I haven't been able to peel my eyes away from the game long enough to get this typed... I've literally been trying to type this message for 2 hours. This may sound wierd but, it's just sooooo pretty, I saw the graphics and decided if, for nothing else than that, I was in love. Thanks again for the helpful hints.

On a side note, I went ahead and got FIFA 08, being a soccer player, it was a must have as soon as I heard you mention it.

    Yar!!!

I love it. Part 1 of my plot to take over the world is complete: People say "Yar!!!" before and/or after addressing me. Angela, I could have used a little more enthusiasm from you. :p

GOD OF WAR!!!!!! ON MY PS!!!!!!!! WOOHOO!

I really can't describe to you why I love this game series so much. Perhaps my love of Greek Mythology. Perhaps my need for passive-agressive violence at the end of a hard day. If only Creon were a woman. If Creon were a woman, I would never get anything accomplished.

But you're right - there isn't anything new. It's not revolutionary (except the over-the-top violence ... which reminds me of when Mortal Kombat first came out - oh-so-long ago). It also is semi-RPG withouth being *too* RPG. And that GOW box is SOOO COOL! Although I would recommend that you start with God of War I on your PS2, before you give a final verdict.

Helena sails in as a Deus ex machina and destroys Dawn Denbo and her lover Cindy!!!! So awesome. Jenny Schecter - I say Karmic payback is a bitch.

For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
It's always our self we find in the sea

    Bit of an “Old-skool” Question

I’ve never been into consoles and much prefer pc games (is that weird?). Anyway, I don’t know if my question is a bit outside the scope of the vlog (if yes please feel free to ignore it) but here it is:

Think back to the early 1990’s and to third-person, point-and-click adventure games… yes, yes, I know that they are pretty much dead but I absolutely adore them! Like: the King’s Quest series, Monkey Island, Indiana Jones, Quest for Glory, Sherlock Holmes, the Gabriel Knight series and the Broken Sword series. I’ve been dying to find something similar for aaaaages but just can’t find anything. Well, other than The Longest Journey which I haven’t actually played yet but plan to buy. Do you have any recommendations or should I just give up? *sigh* It’s so sad this fantastic genre has died out…

Thanks for the very informative vlog anyways! And who knows? Maybe one day I’ll buy myself a Wii (the only console I ever liked!). I think I might need a TV first though – d’oh!

    High 5 for old-skool!

I hear ya!  I'm an adventurer at heart (and dang proud of it)!!  I've played all of the games you have mentioned (though not necessarily all the series).  Although there aren't as many adventure games now, I have spotted some.  They're cheaper too!  I liked Grim Fandango.  That's a bit old too.  Space Quest series or Leisure Suit Larry series (the earlier ones were better).  Long live adventure games!!!!

    Oh yeah, Wii is AWESOME!!!!

Ok, I'll let Tracy and Angela handle the rest :)

Thanks Angela and Tracy for the shout-out!  You girls rock...like Guitar Hero style!!

    I have to disagree

I think gaming does lead to violence, lol....... In my case anyhow, ha. I get so angry when things don't go the way i want to when playing games. I don't know how my playstation or wii contollers have survived countless bashings up against the wall even my poor DS went for a hop the other week. One time my ma accidently pulled out the plug when I had been playing columns (the same level) for 2 hours and talk about having kittens I was having rhinos, lol

Thanks you for answering my question. I think I'll buy her animals crossing and let you know how she gets on. (the mock up Jane Fonda picture was great)

Also do you think with the realease of the new X-files film there might be a new game?

I hope there will be cause I missed out on the first game

    ~Thanks~

    Question:

You girls ever play old school SNK arcade games, like King of Fighters?  Or The Last Blade?  They came out on console too, but I play the KOF games on emulators now.  Also there ia a KOF out for PS2... if you ever heard of it, please discuss, b/c I am a firm believer that the female fighter named "King" is a lesbian, and I need back up.

    Some Random Thoughts

I grew up in a house full of brothers and have, on more the a couple occations, watched them play numerous games, but a couple of the ones that caught my eyes were. Kingdom Hearts I &II, along with KOTOR I & II and there all time favorites, the Fire Emblem games, I was just wondering what ya'll thought of those. After all, it's going to be summer soon, and somethings got to keep me busy. Thanks.

Thanks for the UBI art link

Ladies, thank you for the ubiart link for rabbid stuff.  Alas, no stuffed bunny, but there are some cool t-shirts that will one day be mine, bwahahahaha!  Thanks for the kind shout out as well.  I really enjoy your vlogs on gaming and other random subjects (i.e. I kind of feel bad for Jenny, because Shane was her one loyal friend throughout the series so far, but I think they are setting up for some Shenny dramarama in season 6).  And I have just one more thing to gush on about. I absolutely love that print behind you guys. It is simply marvelous.  Oh, and nice April Fools day prank at lesbiangamers.com.  I almost bit, then remembered the date today. ; )

Thanks for answering my question, guys! Really made my day. Unfortunately I havent had access to Stranger's Wrath yet, but i'll definately check it out when i have the chance.

And i'm right there with you on the Helena Peabody/ Dawn Denbo smackdown. That was awesome.

    Very Foolish Indeed :)

Hi Tracy and Angela -- I have to agree with spotticus, nice April Fool's article.  :)  I love to see what everyone does for April Fool's each year, and a couple of my favorites yesterday were World of Warcraft and GameSpot.

WoW introduced a new bard class with a Guitar Hero style interface ("...proving once and for all that while just about anyone can pick up a sword or cast a spell, only a true hero can vanquish evil with the power of ROCK!"), as well as a new game called "Molten Core" with artwork that reminded me of that old Atari game "Adventure".  Nice!  This is still available at the WoW web site if anyone is interested.

My favorite fake articles at GameSpot were the announcements of "Zork HD" and Rock Band for the PSP.  Hee!  (If you don't remember Zork, it is a text adventure game from the early 80's.)  The graphic for the Rock Band thing was funny... it had 4 people crowded around a PSP and asked, "Could a wave of eyestrain lawsuits be far behind?"

This week I am still playing Puzzle Quest, along with Chains of Olympus.  I agree with you that it's not groundbreaking, but I am having fun with it.  Mostly, it is nice to have another really enjoyable game for the PSP.  I wanted to love the PSP but, sadly, have found it lacking.  I use my DS far more often.  So, it has been nice recently to discover a couple of really good games like Patapon and CoO.  Is there anything you have particularly liked for the PSP and would recommend?

    GTA IV

is anyone as excited for this game as i am? i over here counting the days til that game steals my life again. When San Andreas came out I played for hours on end. If this game is on that same level my social life is in trouble.
    lexx23's picture

    GTA!!!

Bloody can't wait for that! San Andreas and Vice City kept me busy for...years? lol. I bought them both together shorty after San Andreas first came out and I only recently finished all the story and side missions in both games. Liberty City Stories was a bit of a disappointment for me, but I freakin loved San Andreas and the trailers released on the PSN for GTA IV look SOO SOO GOOD! I wonder if they're gonna intensify the multiplayer and have something innovative with online play? It would be cool to make use of the blue tooth and webcams and stuff...like have a GTA community within the game, build underground crime rings, gangs etc etc. That would be wicked.

    wicked vlog!

I love listening to you girls and getting my weekly dose of girl gaming news. I'm starting to build up a pretty long list of potential 360 games that I need to pick up. I did get an elite system and first picked up Mass Effect which I absolutely love. And I picked up Knights of the Old Republic because I'm a Star Wars geek and have wanted to play Knights of the Old Republic since it first came out. I really badly want to get Bioshock and Oddworld was it? for 360 because they look really really amazing.

I also loved that whole God of War package that you guys showed, that was really cool! I'm a huge GOW fan and I have both games for PS2. When I first played GOW for PSP I was a bit disappointed at the controls since they seemed so odd to me, but it is cool to have something like GOW on a portable system.  It's a bit like having Metal Gear Portable Ops, have you guys played that one? It's one of my favs for the PSP.

I still have yet to buy GOW for PSP and I'm really anxious to get my hands on Crisis Core, it looks very impressive.

    Bionic Commando

I just heard Bionic Commando Rearmed (I guess a side scrolling updated version of the old arcade game) is coming out sometime this spring, and the full 3D version this autumn.

After seeing this totally awesome trailer , I was wondering what you guys thought about the games and if you'd recommend them.
