Julianna Margulies will be a "Good Wife"EW.com is reporting that Emmy award-winning ER vet Julianna Margulies is back for another dose of television drama. Margulies recently played an attorney on the short-lived Fox series Canterbury's Law, and she'll soon be back in practice again as the title character of the CBS pilot The Good Wife. In it, she plays a politician's wife who decides to return to her original career as a defense attorney. No word yet on when the pilot will air, or who will co-star, but it will be directed by Charles McDougall, who also directed the Desperate Housewives pilot. Julianna Margulies Personally, I would be far more inclined to watch the show if it had a less retro-sounding title. For example, The Powerful, Accomplished Attorney Who Also Just Happens To Be Married To A Dude is probably available, right? Margulies fans can also look forward to seeing her return to ER next week (the show will conclude its 15 season run on April 2). On March 12, she'll reprise her role as Nurse Carol Hathaway in an episode that will include Susan Sarandon playing a patient's mother and that is also rumored to include the return of former ER star George Clooney, who played Hathaway's paramour, Dr. Doug Ross. In present day ER-time, the couple has twin girls who are now in the fourth grade. Back in November 2008, Margulies was quoted as saying that she would not return for a final cameo on the show that made her famous. She said, “I feel like I left Carol Hathaway in the best scenario possible. I can’t imagine making it any better than that.” George Clooney and Julianna Margulies in ER But she later admitted to TV Guide, "I said from the beginning I would come back if George came back. But I was pretty sure George wasn't going to come back. I said, 'If you do it, I'll do it,' and he said, 'Well, if you do it, I'll do it!'" I guess County General made them an offer they couldn't refuse. All ER reminiscing aside, will you tune in for The Good Wife? Submitted by on March 6, 2009 - 3:00pm. |

Ah, the Beltway
I was just reading a story about how networks were trying to capitalize on the new Obama-fueled interest in Washington, DC, by launching a slew of political dramas--a genre that's been virtually ignored since West Wing's cancellation.
I'm looking forward to seeing The Good Wife, which I'll give a shot, at least, but I'm more excited about House Rules, The Body Politic and especially See Cate Run (now that Amy Smart's signed on to play the lead role).

Too bad the Good Wife
Too bad the Good wife she is going to be isn't MY good wife,.
I will watch or hell just listen to that sultry knee bending toe curling voice of hers
?
is this a lesbian story? why am i reading this?
Agree; horrible title
The Good Wife...
... reinforces the notion of down-trodden women who obey their husbands and the patriarchy's suffocating rules. Will we ever be rid of these subliminal messages as whipped up by network tv execs?
I hope it's a misnomer because I dig Margulies and will probably tune in.
I'll watch...
JM Is In Another Attorneyish Show

I hope they give really good actresses like JM some good roles with good tv programs. Maybe JM should expand her horizons even more like in Mist of The Avalon. I just hate seeing actresses playing the same character role in different tv shows. I agree with Alex-Blaine-Layder about the show's title.
At least JM's working. Nice n lovely oogling first picture of her by the way,Karman.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME A PM ABOUT MEETING WOMYN ON ANOTHER SITE. I'M NOT INTO THE DATING SITE ADVERTISMENT. GREATLY APPRECIATED!
