Jane Krakowski takes a bite out of "Gone With the Wind"

I've always liked Jane Krakowski, ever since I saw her in Vacation (1983), in which she played the cute but backwards Cousin Vicki, who stirred a pitcher of Kool Aid with her arm.

Yes, her arm.

Of course, she nearly stole the show in Ally McBeal as busybody Elaine Vassal, but my favorite of all of her roles is easily Jenna Maroney, the narcissistic actress in 30 Rock.

A lot of people love Krakowski in that role, and that's probably why Breyers has her shilling for their Smooth & Dreamy ice cream, but in an interesting, inventive and interactive sort of way.

Via their official website, Breyers is digitally dropping Krakowski into memorable scenes from classic films, and allowing her to converse with the likes of Clark Gable and, next, King Kong.

In the first webisode of the series, Krakowski is edited into Gone With the Wind as a modern Scarlett O'Hara (complete with camera phone) who matches wits with debonair Rhett Butler. The webisodes were directed by Gail Mancuso, who has directed 30 Rock and other comedy series.

I'll admit, the beginning of the video got off to enough of a slow start that I almost lost interest, but once Krakowski entered the Gone With the Wind world, things started to get funny. But don't take my word for it, check it out yourself.

(A word of warning: If you're looking for any sort of hard-hitting, self-aware, sociopolitical analysis of Gone With the Wind, you won't find it here in the Breyers video. Krakowski's shtick is pure boy-girl/cat-mouse stuff.)

If you liked what you saw, you can take it a step further by going to the Breyers website and uploading your own photo into a player that then superimposes your face on either that of Rhett Butler or Scarlett O'Hara in a famous scene from the film. Your "personalized" webisodes can then be emailed to friends or posted on social network pages.

If you're willing to break a few rules, you can also upload someone else's face into the player. I thought Rachel Maddow would make a dandy Rhett, but the version that Breyers came up with was a little scary. She looked more like an extra from the new Terminator movie than a dashing Southern gentlewoman.

Frankly, my dears, I blame technology.

Did you upload a photo? If so, did your version come out better than mine?

YES!

That was hysterical! I think I watched the part when she said "What?!" at least 7 times. Thank you Karmen.

I tried using my pic as Jane

I tried using my pic as Jane seeing as my pic as Rett was awful. The bit where she runs down the stairs was hilarious, looked like a blow up doll!

I love Jane, she is

I love Jane, she is hysterical. One of the best on 30 Rock, (quite frankly I don't think there are any bad). My favorite part of that commercial is when she says, "I don't know what the frock this is..." I rewound and watched that like 10 times. Thanks for the heads up on this new advertisement!

I've loved her since I saw

I've loved her since I saw her and Camryn Mannheim at the Tori Amos/Alannis Morrissette tour - they gave their backstage party passes to a teenage girl who was clearly a huge huge Alannis fan and just made her night. No attitude, no fanfare, just nice nice people.
