Dara & Karman's Hit List: "Online Dating Etiquette" (Episode 40)This week, Dara and I discuss the importance of observing online dating etiquette. There are many pitfalls to avoid, including the use of misleading photos (or those that feature your friends more prominently than yourself), oversharing, undersharing, and plagiarizing clever quotes from people who are smarter than you. There are also issues of privacy to consider. Unless your friends need to see some evidence in order to answer the questions, "Do you know her?" or "Do these look real?" it's probably not a good idea to pass around the photos sent to you by your new online "friend." I've actually seen some profiles where the whole thing was filled out in txt speek. Maybe they filled it out using their phone. I can barely read past the first few sentences before I have to call it quits.

Oh man! yes I have seen that sometimes on social networking profiles and stuff, and it drives me NUTS I can almost feel my brain melting just reading it. Writting on the internet doesn't cost you anything, and chances are, your not in a rush (if you are, you are WAY too addicted to the internet and you need help) so there is no need 2spk lke this.....and no one else knows quite what your saying either!
So at the end of this rant, for which I could have written about two (not 2) words...I agree......wholeheartedly!

Ha, brilliant episode and ladies with profiles take note! I admit im guilty of the numbers after the name thing, for shame! They are so right though, I wish people would stop with the posing and up your own arse stuff they come out with along the lines of "Im beautiful and popular..." etc, stopit, it's not appealing! And about the lying thing, once I met up with a girl who promised to introduce me to her mates in the LGBT soc as I was only a baby gay at the time and didnt know any gays, sure when I turned up I wa sthe only one there, less of that like, it's scary!! :-)

speaking of online dating, when did AE become one? I was just over on the single's corner thread lol fun read, but seriously? I'm all about living life without regrets, taking risk, and that sorta thing. (Though to be honest "viva la vida" was playing on my ipod when I signed up lol so I guess I'm guilty of not being creative.) But, online dating, that is a risk I do not want to take. Kinda like till you're faced with a "times for desperate measures?" type of situation. Or, is it "desperate measures calls for despearate.........something". lol Thanks for a great enlightening show ladies:)

I followed the two of you almost ever but I must say:The more Dara's hair grows and the shorter Karman's get, the show is kind of getting down the drain.

I'm not on an online dating site, so I evaluated my profile here. And well... I haven't lied, I haven't bragged and my picture is pretty recent. I don't mention that I'm a jobless bum (I'm a student, I'm allowed to be lazy okay!) and I don't talk about any of my weird obsessions. So I guess I'm good :)
Guitar and drumming skills seem to get more impressive every week I must say. You're both only a few weeks away from eternal fame as the world's best virtual rockstars in my opinion.
