Photos of the 2008 AfterEllen.com France Meet-Ups in Paris and LyonLast week Lori, Sarah, Bridget and I flew to France for an Olivia cruise, and along the way had two opportunities to meet yet more of our fabulous AfterEllen.com readers. Our first stop was in Paris, over what just happened to be gay pride weekend. We were blown away by the big turnout, and so grateful to make some new friends!

Sarah, Lori, Bridget and I signed The Big Gay Bag Our next stop was Lyon, a much smaller but equally beautiful city. As in Paris, our meet-up location was in the cave-like basement of a gay bar. Don't worry, we didn't feel slighted. We had the coolest room in the bar! (Yes, ladies, France was hot that week.)

Sarah, Marilyne and Lori In both meet-ups, we took questions about the site's past and future, and encouraged AE readers to start making their own vlogs and blogs. We need more out lesbians on the interweb! Thanks to Mari, Anais, and everyone else who helped organize the meet-ups, and to everyone who braved the heat to come introduce themselves to us and one another. It was wonderful to meet you all. We took a few pictures of our own, but many of the other photos shown here are from from readers--thanks to everyone who sent them in!). Viva la France!

That weekend in Paris was the best time ever. Thank you again for coming over to meet up with us europeans and for being so awesome, hope you'll be back soon :)

Thanks for giving me the much sought after status of Super Gay. I also go by Wonder Lez in private. Too bad I didn't come with my tight lycra costume that time. But I guess everyone saw enough of me as is.
Also, I just realized I wasn't challenging enough for Bridget to lift me up. Tiny French girl like me... She's the real Wonder Woman. And all 4 of you rule. Keep on doing what you do.

there were a lot of Parisian ladies to organize the meet up, at the beginning it was Lydie, Louise, Vivianne and myself than later Jennyfer, Pouik and Amandine came to join us. And everyone who came for pride with us made the weekend even better.
I would like to thank all these fabulous ladies for the wonderful time we spent together trying all these bars. We've become friends and can easily find an excuse to meet and drink.
thank you again to Lori, Sarah, Bridget and Karman for making some time on their busy schedule to meet us.

Paris was amazing!
I loved that weekend soooooooooooo much!! The way everything was organized and spending time with everybody it was just so wonderful!
The way everybody interacted and was just so familiar with each other, really felt like a family. The Afterellen family :D. Karman you really are a rockstar, i had a wonderful time talking to you about Blacksberg and Roanoke :D. And Bridget you are the best really, just up for anything and so much fun, but also willing to talk to anybody and help them. Also to Lori and Sarah for being their wonderful selves and answering all our questions. I hope one day we can do it again in Amsterdam!

Thank you for showing up and being your awesome selves. Both meet-ups were amazing, I had a great time and it was so much fun hanging out with so many wonderful ladies from all over the world.
When's the next one? I'm sure there are more gay bars with caves around Europe. :D
Oh, and I can attest to the fact that Bridget really is freakishly strong. And that's the best. gay bag. ever, and the official Paris meet-up mascot. Along with the gay whistle. And the big gay flag. ;)

It was an incredible and unforgettable weekend, that marvelous memories height the head.
Thanks to this Meet-Up I was able to meet formidable girls come from the whole world and now I became friendly with all the other organizers of the Meet-Up in Paris, we see each other regularly and it's that of the happiness.
The 3 hours together with Bridget, Karman, Sarah and Lori was awesome, gorgeous and wonderful. A dream became reality.
It's a very beautiful photos and OH MY GOD thank you very much Karman to have put the photo where Bridget signs my big shoe, so cool.
