Top models wear T-shirts from Wal-Mart

You too can dress like a Top Model! All you have to do is shop at Wal-Mart.

I suppose it was only a matter of time before America's Next Top Model attempted to capitalize on their brand and instant name recognition. I mean, with young women literally stampeding over each other to become Top Models, I guess it’s not too much of a stretch to think that these girls would fork over 10 bucks for an ANTM “Catwalk Tigers!” baseball T.

Actually, I would fork over a lot more than $10 to watch an America’s Top Model Catwalk Tigers Softball game. Do you hear me CW? I smell a spinoff!

The complete line is now available in stores. Items range from hoodies to shirts and cosmetic bags, and prices range from $3 to $15. I’m just waiting for the tagline: “A fierce look at a fierce price!”

brought to you by exploited labor...

Now if only all those girls could see where these shirts are actually made. You know, the human cost of low prices.

Too bad it's not Target.

I rarely shop at Wal-Mart. Sweatshops + the "Traditional Values" mantra is kind of off-putting.

Their clothing designs are all dragons/skulls, and Abercrombie and Fitch circa 2001, anyhow. These shirts kind of fall into that category -- which is pretty tragic, considering how ANTM is all about innovation and whatnot.

If they were going to go all capital gains on us, couldn't they have at least let Mizrahi play around with the design first? "Fierce look", my behind.

why the griping?

true the shirts are ugly, but i'd rather people clamor to shell out $12 for a shirt rather than paying $40 for a t-shirt made in a sweatshop down the street from that $10 one.  Just because a shirt says 'American Eagle' on it doesn't mean it doesn't use sweatshop labor. I worked in the stockroom; i saw ALL those boxes from Vietnam and Cambodia.

But I do agree with , for a fashion show, you'd think they coulda come up with better designs.

I like

I like that the clothes are simple and they're not all over the top like some of the clothes my friends wear

I only say

the designs aren't that great because the whole 'varsity/sports team' theme is rather dated; they're right to put '03' on a shirt because that's about the last time it was 'hip and with it' to wear sports numbers on a shirt.

Who knows? These shirts

Who knows? These shirts might just be worth a lot in the future. In my opinion, Tyra has got "iconic" written all over her. That's just what the Tee Shirt Printing business needs to get more customers and be relevant.
