Tig Notaro vs. Sarah Silverman: Who will win?

Humor website ComedySmack.com is pitting BFFs against one another in a poll to determine which comedian's stand-up act is better. In one corner, is out lesbian Tig Notaro, known as Sarah Silverman's lesbian friend on The Sarah Silverman Program and in real life. Notaro's competitor, in the other corner, is Silverman herself. Uh-oh.

There are also a couple guys in the running, too, but thats not the point here.

Tig's three-minute video, "No Moleste," features her discussing hanging Do Not Disturb signs on her hotel doors upon check in. "Or, for the Spanish-speaking, No Moleste," she says. She goes on to tell of an encounter with a Spanish speaking man who tried to explain to her what it meant, assuming she actually thought sexual predators were roaming the halls of her resort.

Silverman's clip, "Night of Too Many Stars," involves her usual sarcastic, cocky wit, while she talks about having to be really selective about which chartity events she does, since she's "such a huge star" and is asked to do so many. She also says she doesn't give money because she's afraid people will spend it on drugs, but that she gives in other ways, like sending a bunch of DVDs to a village in Africa. "Really fun, get your mind off of s--- stuff ... like the Rush Hour trilogy and Newsies, The Last Mimzy."

Typically, my vote would almost automatically go to Sarah Silverman, no questions asked. But there's something refreshing and new about Tig's routine.

The fact that she plays for our team (and we can only hope, pray and beg that Sarah would, already), doesn't hurt, either. Which one gets your vote?
