Maya Rudolph's "Hollywood mom" girl crush is not Angelina Jolie

Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph, best known for her outrageous impersonations of Donatella Versace and Oprah, talks gay marriage and girl crushes in the new issue of The Advocate.

Amongst talking about her role in Sam Mendes's new dramedy Away We Go, which is now playing in select theaters, Maya reminisces with the magazine about her involvement with FunnyorDie.com's Prop. 8: The Musical:

Filming that was an amazing experience because we got to put our anger into something fun and have this really beautiful day. I grew up in California, and I’m a proud Californian, but I was really offended and surprised at how many people feel differently [about marriage equality] than I do just in California alone. I was ashamed of my state.

The infamous Star Spangled Banner botcher tells the magazine that she's not surprised she has such a large gay fan base, because she feels like she's part of it, feeling like an outsider growing up without a mom and being mixed race:

I went to a super-duper hippie college, University of California, Santa Cruz, and most of my friends there were either gay or mixed. We were all "others" together. I feel most at home with people who need each other as a family and understand what it’s like to be different.

A large part of the interview focuses on Maya's role on NBC's Kath and Kim, where she played the spiritual life coach Athena, who she said "doesn't see any boundaries when it comes to sexuality." The role had her reunited with fellow SNL alum Molly Shannon, and the two shared a fascination with Hollywood moms. ("You know those actresses who look like a million bucks carrying around their babies, and you’re like, 'Really?'")

Asked if she had any girl crushes on any of the perfect-looking Hollywood moms, Maya fesses up:

Michelle Williams immediately comes to mind. She’s so beautiful, and there’s something very special about her. I’ve never met her, but I’m always like, "She’s a really f-----g good actress."

Finally — a girl crush on a celeb mom other than Angelina Jolie. Thanks for being original, Maya Rudolph!

Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams is a really good actress.  About ten years ago, during her DAWSON'S CREEK heyday, I saw her in a play opposite Lori Petty called "Killer Joe" off-Broadway.  In this play all the cast members, at some point in time, were completely naked.  So yeah, I've been in the same room with a fully naked Michelle Williams.  BTW, she was GREAT in the role.  Not that her nakedness had anything to do with my opinion.  See my first sentence about how I really feel.

She is the Late Minnie Ripperton's...

daughter. I was recently watching a program on TVone called UNSUNG which featured Minnie Ripperton and I was floored to find out that the talent Maya Rudolph was her daughter. If you know good soul music then you would know "Loving You" and "Back Down Memory Lane" to name a few. Minne's life was cut so short due to breast cancer. One thing I can say is unlike most celebrity children that sometimes follow in the parent's foot steps-Maya definitely doesn't live in her mother's shadow of musical greatness but yet instead carved out her own path by becoming one of today's most talented funniest actress. Which is so cool and her Beloved mother may she RIP will forever be a legend!

Does anyone remember?

Her semi-recurring sketch on SNL called "Time Travelling Scott Joplin"--wherein she played Scott Joplin travelling through time, playing ragtime on a piano and criticizing womens tennis?

So funny.
