Kate Moennig is feeling some “Remorse”

I know the fact that there will be no more “Shane” is hard to swallow for a lot of people, but there is a light at the end of Ilene Chaiken‘s dark, nonsensical tunnel: It’s Kate Moennig‘s return to the big screen. The actress is involved with two upcoming movies, including a small role in Everybody’s Fine, which stars Kate Beckinsale, Robert De Niro and Drew Barrymore. But fans will see a lot more of her in the psychological thriller Remorse, where she’ll share the screen with Kip Pardue (aka Clayton from But I’m a Cheerleader).

In the film, which is currently in pre-production, Kate plays grad student Jamie (good name, btw), who befriends Doug (Pardue), who’s wife is killed in a car accident. Grieving the loss of his wife, Doug retreats to the couple’s secluded farmhouse, where a bunch of spooky stuff starts to happen. (It’s always in the middle of nowhere, isn’t it?)

You can get an idea of farmhouse vibe on the film’s interactive website. It shows us things like a cherry pie in the kitchen, that was “a gift from the introverted Jamie. Their relationship begins over a slice on the front porch.” Hey, didn’t Shane do that once before? The description of the film says that as Jamie and Doug become friends, “Jamie finds herself struggling with ghosts from her own past that carry a chilling echo of the events unfolding with Doug in that remote farmhouse.”

It really does sound psychologically thrilling and altogether a different and un-Shane like role for Kate. Does it sound like something you’d be into seeing?
