Jillian Michaels takes her show on the roadIn my wildest dreams, I live with Jillian Michaels.
We wake up early and go for a run together before making some oatmeal, hitting the spa, then maybe a quick stop at Whole Foods before the gym. We compare shoulders, measure each other's waists and then later, sip vodka sodas while grilling some vegetables. Sounds nice, huh? Well, for some people, this will be a reality. Sort of. The bad ass Biggest Loser trainer will be getting her own show next year. Losing It With Jillian Michaels (the name taken from her best-selling book), will have Jillian actually move in with people (families with children 9 and up) for a week to help not only whip them into shape, but also tackle some of the emotional issues we've seen her touch on in recent seasons of The Biggest Loser.
In an interview with the L.A. Times, Jillian says she has no plans to leave The Biggest Loser, and will juggle both shows, but Losing It will allow her to break out of the tyrant mold the hit reality show has created for her. She said that the camera, in typical reality show form, plays up the 15 minutes where she loses it and screams at contestants. "The were 23 other hours and 45 minutes where I was lovely," she said.
The format of the new show, where Jillian calls all the shots, won't be that drastically different from what we're used to now. At the end of the week, the families will be given guidelines to follow and of course, there will be updates, the "where are they now" element. And while people often shed jaw-dropping amounts of weight during their time on the Biggest Loser ranch, Losing It will be all about how real people at home can learn to be healthy and achieve what's realistically doable for them.
"We don't need Americans to lose 100 pounds in seven weeks," she said. "I'll take 100 pounds in a year." The goal, Jillian said, is to intervene in people's lives and help them before they need a "last-resort option like the Biggest Loser." Hopefully, Losing It will help show people everywhere they don't need to go off to a ranch to get healthy. I know I won't complain about more Jillian on TV. How about you? Will you be tuning in? I would tune into a show even if they only mentioned something about her.
i think it's awesome
it's awesome how much America is in love with Jillian Michaels. and i love that it's obvious she's a lesbian but no one cares. ok, well lesbians such as myself wish she would say it, but it's like the jodie foster situation, she doesn't really have to say it because we already know it. i love the photos of her on her bike riding up in full leathers. that whole soft butch sexy drives me wild! and you know how i know for sure she plays for our team? no straight woman calls other women 'mama' all the time the way she does. she is soooo dykin!!!!!!!
and yes, ProudGoldStar, she is a sexy beast! but i've seen hotter photos of her

Good lord that woman is fine!lol I watch Biggest Loser just to see her, so ya know I'll be watcing the new show. She can come to my house and scream at me if she wants!
;-)
Dayum!
I will do anything Jillian Michaels tells me to do, whatever and whenever she wants me to do something. I'll probably be too busy drooling over her to do any actual work though. On the plus side, she'll scream at me if I don't do any work and I'll be happy cause the woman looks even hotter when she's mad ;).
If I could sleep forever, would you still be in my dreams?
love.
is it wrong of me to hope that she rides up to these families houses on the Ducati Desmosedici??
regardless, I am very much looking forward to the show .. as much as I love the sexy "beat your ass until you cry" Jillian I am also a big fan of the more cuddly side of Jillian that likes to talk about her dogs and take pictures of starfish lol Good on you NBC for capitalizing on the many layers of Jillian Michaels.
and i've said it before but i will say it again .. eat your heart out Jackie Warner.. its going to be a showdown among the female trainers for best new solo show .. and Jillian is going to win :)
Jillian Michaels gets her
Jillian Michaels gets her own show? Sign me up. Yes yes yes yes yes. Also, *thud*
Yeah, I'll definitely be watching.
I was watching Biggest Loser
hot, hot, hot...
Close, but no cigar.
I like that this show's not promoting the rapid weight loss that The Biggest Loser does, but please, networks, can we have an exercise/healthy eating/behaviours show that isn't focused around getting thin? Both healthy and unhealthy people come in all shapes and sizes, and whether Gillian's yelling or not, it's not fair to assume that fitness and health can be determined by how much weight one is able to lose.
TLC had this show a while back called something like "You're Killing Your Kids!" that showed families of all different sizes with unhealthy lifestyles, and showed what would happen if they continued living that way, and it wasn't always weight gain. It definitely wasn't a perfect show - they had a weird episode where a kid became goth in his "unhealthy lifestyle" age progression and preppy in the healthy one.
I get that TV is all about visuals, and that a weight-loss show won't draw numbers without visible results, fast. But designing weight loss for a TV timeline isn't something I want to watch, and I don't like that people who would lose weight in different ways are competing for thinness - there's too much of that going on already.
So I'm sure Jillian's a swell gal, and she's definitely eye candy, but that's the reason I've never watched The Biggest Loser, and likely won't watch this new show.
I <3 you!
All these weight loss shows rubs me the wrong way. To me it stinks of proganda that leads to fat-shame and fatphobia. They crazy thing is I see it to be devestating to those who go out of their way to be fit but are still consider fat, by fat I mean "you are a disgusting human." Everything I have been watching has been tinted with the mindset of fat=evil/bad and are expressed in online and real communities. From shows like this to the discussions on health care and the onset of the "obese epidemic," headless bodies of fat people walking screams, "you cannot be happy unless you are thinner therefore healthier" in my head. I don't see the word "fat" as a negative one and I don't udnerstand why it's used to insult girls who are not.
Being skinny and weight loss is not the end all becoming healthy. I struggled with weight issues and I want to be healthy, but the size of my pants should not dictate that. Vanity sizing, fantasy sizing and real sizing are things I and I'm sure many people noticed to be bait to get people to buy things to get closer to the beauty ideal.
I could go on about this for a looooong time, but I'll end it with this:
Good god Jillian Michaells!!!!!
one common point
we have the same name !! go Jillians, with "J" woohoo !
Jillian Michaels
Hooootttttt !!!
Thanks I needed to see those hot pictures .
Too bad she gives terrible
Hmm...
Actually...so far I lost almost eighty pounds since February...not because of Jillian's advice alone, but she was and is a big inspiration who got me off my butt and made me start thinking in the first place.
I started to educate myself on all things nutrition and metabolism when I began losing weight...sorry to disagree with you but I can't see anything wrong with her advice. Basically she's all for buying organic food and all she advocates - according to her radio show, which I really loved because she was so relaxed and caring when talking to people - is to make sensible and healty choices.
I'm no expert when it comes to exercises with horrible form though - I don't even work out with her dvd's (can't because of an injury), but I walk and swim and cycle a lot - mostly with one of her radio show podcasts on my ipod, which gives me a new piece of advice every time I listen to it.
And I'm really looking forward to that new show with it's more "real" approach to health and fitness.
Jillian Michaels
i love this woman. i'd watch
yup
wow
Someone call 911!!!
the real question
The real question for me is not if I will watch Jillian's show, but if I will ever STOP watching it. Ooops...that be crazy stalker talk.
Oh God, is this a fight club? Ohhhh... this is very disappointing!
