Courtenay Semel calls herself the lesbian "Don Juan"

There are just some things that are beyond my comprehension and while I firmly believe "to each his/her own" I am nonetheless baffled by a number of things, among them the fascination with people like Courtenay Semel, The Gosselin's, Octomom, Heidi & Spencer Pratt, Tila Tequila, Paris Hilton, etc.

Courtenay calling herself the "female Don Juan of the lesbian world" almost made me choke on my Diet Dr. Pepper.  Umm sorry, I just don't think so... Mind you, saying that means that she has a lot of confidence in who she is (and that's great and all), but that's quite a bold statement to make in a major lesbian publication.  [Don Juan |ˌdän ˈ(h)wän| a legendary Spanish nobleman known for his dissolute life and for seducing women. • [as n. ] ( a Don Juan) a seducer of women; a libertine.]

I'm just sitting here in front of my computer (like most days), shaking my head at what people think is "hot" (read:popular) these days (sorry, but I guess I'm getting old-ha ha).

At any rate to reiterate... to each his/her own.

P.S. What I wrote should not be perceived as having anything to do with regards to Courtenay's looks, as I certainly don't feel qualified to judge others on their looks, but rather a commentary on my opinion of her attitude and her claim to fame. I'm just disenchanted with the number of people that are suddenly considered celebrities.

She's pretty damn ugly. And what the hell is wrong with her eyes in that last picture? Its like they're trying to run off her face.

I don't know who this is and I'm honestly not that interested. But I agree 100% with this article. Activism is exhausting. Worth it, but exhausting. I like a little stupid celeb fluff once in a while, and if the "regular" media isn't going to give me fun queer gossip from a queer perspective, I think it's just fine if Curve decides to step up.

What kind of person says on the record that she is the lesbian Don Juan?  It would be really funny if she's kidding but sadly I think she really thinks it.

Okay, so she's not my cup of tea on looks, taste (Paris Hilton??? Seriously?), or intelligence.  I agree with Grace that it's okay for us not to be so damn serious all of the time.

And Curve to me is the Cosmo for gay/bi women. 

I have this issue of Curve and although C. comes off alright, I find nothing attractive about this girl at all. How she's pulling in the girls she is says something about her personality so I'm just gonna go with: she must have that extreme inner beauty that just ain't comin' across in person or in paper.

And a little bit of fluff isn't bad- it's when you fill your head with it that it becomes a problem. And more and more these days, fluff is taking up more and more space between folks' ears.

I don't believe you all!!!  Okay, using the last picture, take a small piece of paper and cover the left side of her face and then take the same piece of paper and move over and cover the right side of her face.  Lookeeeeee....Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

She and Lindsay never dated? Duh still that doesn't mean that they never hooked up. 

The comments on her looks is not only petty it's also uninspired.

I like to qoute mean girls:

Calling her ugly does not make her less arrogant, nor does it maker her less attractive to anyone else.

When I want to make a comment on someone's 'tude problem, I don't go for how ugly their shoes are.

Well, the "enlightned lesbians" are on the attack big time.  At least she's actaully out and proud, and not afraid to talk about her sexuality.  She's actgually open about her dating history, while we pine and speculate about a bunch of in the closet scaredy cats.

You may not like her, but she's still family.  We don't know how many ladies she pulls that she's being quiet about.  And we all know players that nobody in their right minds should be with, but those are the ones that get all the action.

Why is it ok to totally trash some celesbians for their looks, yet if a poster questions the allure of others, she gets raked over the coals by her fellow posters?

Guess what? We actually know very little about the personalities and lives of celebrities, whether or not they come across as appealing onscreen and in print.

Expect to be ridiculed if you make stupid comments. Straight gay etc. This applies to everyone. Her comments are a sign of her insecurities about herself. If that is what she believes great for her. She is naive.

I am usually attracted to people who present themselves modestly. Her vanity is a reflection of her utter insecurity. 

Basically I see her as a mythical creature, I prefer not to comment on her aesthetics.

Anyone who thinks Spencer Pratt is amazing or Paris Hilton is hot, is i dumbass with a capital D.
