Jenny McCarthy and Leah Remini will no longer be "In the Motherhood"Good news for fans of the web series In the Motherhood: The show is moving to primetime television on ABC. The network has scheduled 13 episodes based on the popular MindShare series about the zany lives of three mothers and girlfriends, inspired by the real adventures of women across the country who write into the show’s site with their stories.
Though comic actress Chelsea Handler will stay on board, her costars Leah Remini and Jenny McCarthy aren’t involved in the ABC project. That bums me out because I love Chelsea and Jenny as sisters. Check out this clip and try not to giggle: Who will be Chelsea’s new costars? The buzz right now is that busy Ms. Handler — who also hosts a late night talk show and has penned two bestselling books — will be joined by Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) and Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm).
Both of those women, in my opinion, are two of the finest comic actresses television has ever seen. Cheryl is the perfect foil to neurotic Larry David on Curb and, frankly, after tuning into a few episodes of Megan’s dull talk show, I’m happy to see her in a sitcom again. Have you checked out In The Motherhood on the web? Are you more inclined to watch it on regular ol’ TV? Which one of these ladies is your favorite? Submitted by on September 9, 2008 - 11:00am. |

GAAAAAHHH!!!!!!
If Chelsea Handler wasn't straight and into gray-haired older men, I would marry her...
I am so excited about any reason for her to be on television...and anyone that hasn't read her books, needs to.
Enough said.

I loved the web series, and
I loved the web series, and I completely agree with you: Chelsea and Jenny as sisters were absolute comic genius. I loved these 3 together, so I am sad to see two of them gone, and while Megan and Cheryl are fabulous comedians as well, does anyone else think they seem a bit too old to play these roles? I am not trying to cause any offense, but the characters all have very young children, and there was a vibrancy between these women that is almost reminiscent of college roommates or something. If they have updated the show to include teenagers as the characters' children, then I can completely see it, but I have some reservations. I will watch at least the first episode, as I am not just a fan of the series, but of all three of these actresses, so I hope they pull out one kickass show!

I agree with you!
Elle Girl I'm with you this issue! Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against these two women's ages, but let's look at the facts. Megan is a mere 4 years younger than my mother, which puts her at 50 this year! And personally, I feel Megan looks her age! She's still hot as ever, but I can tell she's 50! So I'd have a difficult time beliving she was the parent of any child under the age of 10. Now Cheryl is 43 and I think her character's kids could go either way in age. But I really think they should at least make one set of these kids 13 or older. The writing will be what makes or breaks this show!

I don't really understand
I don't really understand why Leah Remini and Jenny McCarthy aren't following this series to television. It was really their series from inception, so I'm a bit confused. Hopefully this means that they are busy filming other series or something. Does anyone know what the deal is? The two of them together with Chelsea Handler are just wonderful.
I'm so glad to see that Cheryl Hines and Megan Mullally will be back on TV, but I'm worried the show will lose what made it special.
But kudos to Chelsea!!!!
I like Megan and Cheryl. But...
like stepha610...this doesn't make much sense to me.
So I am a bit concerned that while network version might have the same title...the new version will be nothing like the original net version that has been so hilarious.
I giggles
YES!
About time!
I loved jenny as her sister. Leah wasn't in the last few webisodes that i'd seen so I didn't expect her to return but both of the replacements are some of the funniest women around so I can't wait. that clip is my absolute favorite! :D
That Clip
More Chelsea? Woohooooooooooooooo
I don't see how you can go wrong with these three
Though, I'm just excited to see more of Chelsea on tv. When is this show airing anyway?

When in doubt, finger something out.
haha!!! Awesome! I
haha!!! Awesome!
I have five kids and NONE of them have ever thrown a tantrum in publiic, EXCEPT for my oldest when she was maybe 4 or 5? I think she was 4, and it was in the grocery store.
Honestly? And Mind you, I was like, 19 years old when this happened. But I toitally just left her. Not at the store, but she was in the beginning of one aisle and she sat down and started screaming, so I said, "okay, Maya! Bye! You can live here now and do this all you want!and walked away from her. She was still screaming when I got to the end of the aisle. I turned back and she was looking at me. I waved at her and said "Bye, Maya!!!" and started to turn the corner. Then she stopped screaming. Once she stopped screaming and started calling out "Mommy!!" I backed into her line of sight. She never did it again. She SWEARS she remembers this and that it traumatized her, but she never even brought it up until 3 years ago when I laughed at her for it and now she brings it up all the time. Haha. I told her "you guys are all just good kids!" but she says it's because I gave them crazy eyes the minute any of them started to act out.
When you're a mom, you really do learn to do crazy eyes. It's fun.
I actually did watch the web series
