Rachel McAdams: Give her a cape already! As if I didn't heart Rachel McAdams enough after her turns in Mean Girls, The Hot Chick and Red Eye … now, in an interview with MTV Movies, she reveals herself to be a comic book reader who wants to play a superhero on-screen. I mean, does she want me to get down on one knee and propose? OK, fine, “uncle.” I'll head to Zales this weekend and pick up a sparkly ring.
And yes, I said The Hot Chick. Why are you looking at me like that? It's funny! The mighty McAdams–Anna Faris duo overpowers any negative Rob Schneider effects, and you know it. It's all right, you don't have to be embarrassed about liking that movie any longer. I'm not … much.
The point here is that McAdams has expressed interest in Black Orchid, a DC Comics character with (heh) roots in the 1970s who was most famously resurrected in the late '80s by Sandman scribe Neil Gaiman.
McAdams says: “[I]t's a really interesting character. She's a superhero that's a flower. I don't know if that would work or the audiences would be interested in that, but she was kind of cool.” I know I'd be interested, so at the least the film production company could expect a box office draw of $10. Black Orchid isn't exactly a flower — she's a human-plant hybrid who's wicked strong and can fly and do all that sort of awesome superhero-y stuff. And she's purple. What more do you need?
After copping to reading comic books and auditioning for roles in Fantastic Four, Iron Man and Batman Begins, it seems that Rachel McAdams really does want to play around in the world of super powers and capes … which means that I've got a wedding to plan. I'm thinking maybe an “untraditional” ceremony on the beach where we exchange seashells that remind us of each other, and then we have pizza. We can register at Midtown Comics, and you guys can totally buy us graphic novels and stuff. Excelsior, Rachel McAdams, excelsior indeed! Submitted by on March 7, 2008 - 3:31pm. |

No Shame
speaking of no-brainer
I just saw a preview for Wedding Crashers (being aired on channel 9 Sunday night). Shame we're exposed to her mashing face with Owen Wilson argh. I'm not quite sure if her and Isla Fisher exactly had duo powers either.
Do we really need more comics turned into movies though? All I know is that there should be more lovely ladies in skin tight or painted on suits with superpowers.
as if I needed another
looooove
I adore her, and let's be honest - I know the cheer from The Hot Chick by heart. *claps hands* boys are cheats and liars, they're such a big disgrace. They will tell you anything to get to second ...baseball, baseball...."
Love Rachel McAdams
Yes,
Two words, love her!
Two words, love her!
Love her great performance! Just wish her better and better.

Nice lesbian video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=3-WZRAt6mYU
in my opinion
she truly deserves her own over-hyped, over-budgeted superhero movie. if only someone has enough sense to turn Witchblade into a movie *sigh*.
Mean Girls is a guilty pleasure for me, and half the reason why i watch it is for Rachel Mcadams, the other half is for Lizzy Caplan ofcourse. :D
Damn!
She auditioned to be in Batman Begins? If it was the role of Rachel Dawes she went for (what else could it be?) I can't believe that Katie Holmes beat her out for it! Seriously, were the casting people on crack? Batman Begins was a fine film, ruined by her bland, souless performance, should've gone with Rach people!
I'd pay to see anything Rachel McAdams makes...although I won't watch the Hot Chick, no one could possibly be hot enough to make me watch that.
Yeah, I've seen The Hot
Yeah, I've seen The Hot Chick. Three times. God, I can't believe I just admitted that. But I am in love with Anna Faris, and Rachel McAdams is pretty hot too (although I like her a lot better in Mean Girls).
I'd like to see her play a superhero in a bigscreen action movie, because that will mean that we actually get one with a female lead (don't even mention Catwoman).
Wow who knew? I loved her
Wow who knew? I loved her in The Family Stone. I really don't see her as any type comicbook hero though. sorry.

I can't even count the
I can't even count the number of times i've seen Mean Girls... She's prettty amazing and quite hot.
Oh and I agree she was great in The Family Stone.
my fave
Rachel McAdams would be an awesome Slayer
Not that she would ever do it, but c'mon, who wouldn't wanna see her go head to head with Buffy? Or Faith? Or Willow? OK, I need to lie down now.
Dawn: It's on. All right? It's f---in' ON.
After thinking about your
The Family Stone
Love her!
ahh
as if she isn't hot enough, let's throw her in a superhero costume. ANY superhero costume. i may faint.
regardless of how crappy this possible movie may be, i will most definitely be first in line to see it...many times over.
Don't forget The Notebook!
to be frank
i wouldn't pay to watch her in a role as a flower with superpowers, although the cape and costume sounds fancy, but that's about it.to me she's better off playing the romantic or the bitch cos she totally rocked those roles.i mean,a flower with superpowers?now, that's way off.that's something that disney would produce.and mcadams starmeter would plunge.
