Styled Out: Lindsay Lohan, fashion victim?

So, in case you haven't heard, the line Lindsay Lohan created for Emanuel Ungaro pretty much bombed on the runways of Paris Fashion Week and oh-how-my-heart aches for our most controversial of celesbians when I heard that news.

She's been tanking so bad, one reporter actually re-capped her work by saying, "She embarrassed herself and Ungaro at her Paris Fashion Week debut. Heart-shaped pasties and a blue bandeau bra do not a fashion line make."

Oh, dear! And just when I thought things couldn't possibly get much worse for our flighty friend, she is accused of stealing jewelry — again.

Apparently, when her house was broken into not too long ago she claimed that about 2 million dollars worth of jewels were snagged from her crib and they were later found in the hands of Lindsay herself, so along with the alleged stealing of fur coats, she reportedly left France without returning millions of dollars worth of jewels borrowed for her nose-dive of a runway show. Say it isn't so!

Lindsay has literally been the talk of the town in the world of fashion critics and I, for one, kind of pity her.

Rumors aside, she also has this latest dose of misfortune to deal with: Mom Dina has decided to design some shoes.

Along with her own dastardly downfalls, she's dealing with her mother riding her coat tails, once again. Results aren't able to be googled yet, but rest assured, this is one fashion tid-bit that I'm going to be following pretty closely and, as soon as I see them, you will.

In the meantime, I'm just trying to keep up with her Tweeting.

How do you feel about our gal pal Lindsay and her family's foray into fashion?

    Hmmm..

Although I'm not one to easily believe everything they write in the papers, I also think that where there's smoke, there's fire. And the "it's all just a big misunderstanding" line of defense La Lindsay came up with? That one has to be right up there with "it must have been the second shooter on the grassy knoll" for sheer transparentness.

Ah well.. even bad publicity is still publicity.

I second that. She gets a bad rap and people are so hard on her. I don't want to see her have a Britney-esque melt down. She seems so troubled lately.

    "lately"?

she keeps doing it to herself and judging by her twitter, id say shes been britney-esque for quite some time.

    Tragic

There probably is fire where there's this much smoke, but I hate that things keep working out for her like this. I mean she obviously has her own significant part to play in what happens to her, but I just wish she could catch a break. Or get her s*%! together. Or both.

I am really afraid to see what her mom comes up with. I have a feeling it's going to be cringe worthy.

    brackishtea's picture

    Oh Lindsay...

My mother thinks you are a hot ass mess, but it is not your fault, my mother blames your mom.

    I blame your mom, too.

I blame a lot of things on your mom, like global warming.

Then again I am a bit delusional.

    Wow, that blue bandeau top

Wow, that blue bandeau top with the heart shaped center is the stuff of nightmares. Well... at least my nightmares.

Side note: Will someone please let her know that the blonde hair Does. Not. Work.

    dragonlady07's picture

did this one on her own:

“I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out,” she says, adding that “I am going back to Paris for the next collection….I am learning.” Still, the clock for her next collection is already ticking. “It’s already in January,” she says. “I thought it was in March.”

    -lindsay lohan, creative consultant.

everything else, tho, i blame on her parents.

    Rumors, lies and people

Rumors, lies and people taking advantage of her.

Oh and her show was not a complete failure like some publications would like you to believe. Also it's not as if Lindsay had 100% creative control. She didn't and yet she gets all the blame for the negative reviews? poor girl.

"The entire collection was rushed and Estrella Archs didn't have time to really think out what she was going to do, much less find a way to collaborate smoothly with a celebrity. Rumors say the whole thing was thrown together in three weeks, which is one quarter of the time that the Project Runway finalists get before showing at Bryant Park.

Ungaro shouldn't have pushed to show in Paris for Spring 2010; the goal should have been to show a Fall 2010 collection. The mastermind of this entire venture, Ungaro's CEO Mounir Moufarrige, said afterwards that he was "happy" and that he has "a really positive impression." If buyers place orders, he'll be even happier. If they don't, well, look for more changes at Ungaro. When Estrella and Lindsay came out to take a bow, they didn't look happy at all, most likely because of the audience's tepid applause.

come on. she's a walking, talking mess... it doesn't get any better by her being with a woman.

and yes, the show (and the fashion) really was THAT bad! and "poor girl gets all the blame"?! well, that's what happens when you give your d-list face for a b-list designer. hope it came with a big check!

dude... that was PARIS fashion week... not some fashion-school-art-project... that's what happens here... for everyone. no excuse for lil'lindsay... no dyke-bonus... no hollywood-bonus... and for sure no excuse for heart-patterns!

    i think lindsay should take

i think lindsay should take a break from public life, then come back and solely focus on a professional career because she is looking like a one-woman kleptomaniac sideshow. i think a few months ago ellen told her that she took a break from showbiz and was low profile and then she made a big comeback and it was good for her career. she needs to get herself together because there's more to life then celebrity which is fleeting anyway. i also viewed the ungaro collection for myself and while some pieces were tragic, other pieces were beautiful and wearable which is more then i can say for some of the "art" we've seen at couture shows. i think a lot of these fashion critics were being over the top bitchy and solely featuring their critiques more on lindsay's persona and reputation then the actual clothing. i mean hello, she was just a consultant, she didn't even make the clothing.

emily, this is a bitchy article

What a bitchy article about a famous out lesbian!  Is Perez Hilton your source?!

Emily, it sounds like you are getting your facts from misogynist males.  Reach for your dictionary, and look up the word, misogynist.  It means 'hatred of women.' I don't believe misogyny belongs on a lesbian site, n'es pas?

It sounds like you are having a great time putting down Lohan.  So, while you are at it, please look up the word, sadistic, as well.

hahahaha... sorry, really laughing hard right now.

misogynist...?! really?! REALLY?! hahaha... jesus... everyone relax! and maybe alittle should look it up again... think there must be a little misunderstanding.

and "n'est pas"?! really?! REALLY?! hahaha... sorry... it's just funny. maybe lindsay also picked up some french in paris... haha... putting this at the end of your sentence is almost as fashionable as ungaro's last collection... hahaha.

i'm really sorry because i think you two are kinda serious with these posts... but from where i'm standing they're quite hilarious.

oh, and i almost forgot... right, there's no alternative between defending and stoning... my fault... hahaha.

    Dear Emily Hartl

Please refrain from criticizing Lilo any further.  If you continue to do so - even if it's "constructive criticism" - you will be will bombarded with even more fierce, brutal, nonsensical verbal retaliation from Lohan's Legion of Lesbians!  You have been warned.

    Best regards,

    Grand Wizard of The LLL

P.S.  Ms. Hartl, I always enjoy your blog even though you're a sadistic, misogynistic, bitchy person. ;-)

Dear KVT, I just want to

    Dear KVT,

I just want to you know that your internet life is in danger. Whatever you do, DO NOT challenge the legions of Lohan fanbots. They are a vicious breed and honestly, when I last challenged them to take up knitting instead of doing whatever they do, I was maimed. I'm recovering and knitting with one arm has been something I talk about in local highschools. The kids listen and some make fun of me but it has made me a better person. I made two pair of socks today and a hat!

    Anyway I blame Linsday's mother.

    Waving with one arm,

What an amazing spirit you have.

    (((((Brackishtea)))))

Your cautionary tale reminds me of the sentimentality of an after school special.  Poor Helen Hunt.   Furthermore, your one arm knitting skills is indicative of not only your bravery and willingness to move on after the tragic maiming incident, but also what would undoubtedly be some fantastic lesbian dexterity skills.  Keep on knittin'!  :)

On a similar note, my middle school wheeled in a limbless gentleman who cautioned us against misusing firecrackers.  Needless to say, I have been firecracker free since the 6th grade.

As for mother and daughter Lohan, well, sometimes the apple does not fall far from the tree...

    brackishtea's picture

    LOL!

Thank you for your kind words, it's just *tears up* when I think of the children, they give me hope. So much hope, I could fly but I fear is more of the state of delusion I'm suffering from the painkillers.

You know after all this, I forgive them (fanbots), they may have taken away my arm, at least they didn't take away the arm I use in lesbian sexings.

If that was the case, then well I would be dead-inside.

    Yes, Lindsay's personal life

Yes, Lindsay's personal life is a bit disastrous right now. Yes, we have no business into her personal life. Yes, she's technically an actor/singer but hasn't really been doing that recently. Yes, she's been known to bat for our team. And yes, technically she didn't have full creative control over the line.

She still signed her name to a line that sent some ridiculously fugly clothes down the runway that would be attributed to her. Tim Gunn would have been very worried about this - there's just no way to make it work.

IMHO, if you either consciously sign your name to something/send a creative work out into the open, you're open for criticism. The higher your profile, the bigger the criticism, and the more careful you have to be. Lindsay walked into this.

Making fun of creative work that happens to be done by a woman isn't misogyny. Female fashion designers who aren't all that good shouldn't be on some holy pedestal free from mockery.

    Oh Linds... Linds

And back on that Ellen interview... on April.. I thought that maybe she really was going to get her shit, I mean, her life together... She should get some rest from the freaking tabloid/train wreck lens... and then go back to acting... Also she should lay off the bleach.. that blonde mane does not suit her at all... the red hair suited her the best. BTW, Samantha was on PR last week... I thought maybe they would come together... haha...

    Isn't this what almost

Isn't this what almost always happens to child stars? There are so few people that can come out of that normal. Michael Jackson, Brittany Spears, Lindsay Lohan and many more we might not know as much about (most often males since the tabloids seem to be much more keen on ripping apart female stars). Don't get me wrong, I think Lindsay Lohan is probably a really sh***y person, but its partly Hollywood culture and worldwide popular culture in general that made her this way. The worst part is that we make her struggles with drug addiction and thievery and whatever else a huge spectacle. These troubled stars are basically an outlet for the aggression and bitterness of the masses. Maybe before we poke fun at these people (yeah, they're people after all) we might ask ourselves why is it that we're interested in reading such mean-spirited articles about them? Why is it that we find it acceptable to completely dehumanize them? The fact is, most people don't want Lindsay Lohan to get better because it takes away from their entertainment value. So really who's worse, Lindsay Lohan or all the people keeping up with her in the news?

This is why Im glad im not

This is why Im glad im not famous. Having my life scrutinized by complete strangers, every step i take followed, having to make sure everything i do is good so im not critised and made fun of in the media, my entire life becoming a public affair- i couldnt take that shit anymore! Seriously! :P (not tallking about anyone in particular, i just tallking about famous people in general)
