Lesbian dream duets for the GrammysPeople recently released its list of fantasy Grammy duets, but we all know that lesbians do it better. The 52nd annual Grammys don’t air until Jan. 31, but AfterEllen.com figured that the Grammy planning committee would need some major help in selecting its performances of the night. Surprise duets are always the highlights of the night, but too often they overlook the best possibilities. Thus, we came up with our own list of queer female artist-duos that would really bring the Grammy house down in L.A. next year. Lady Gaga and Peaches Gaga has finally met her match in over-the-top live performances with the “I Feel Cream” electro-pop rocker. The amount of oozing sexuality, pelvic thrusting, and overall awesomeness from a Peaches and Gaga collabo might even be too much for L.A. to handle. Brandi Carlile and Melissa Etheridge Etheridge, the queen of country-infused rock and Carlile, the recently out lesbian indie rocker Carlile, would do a killer medley of “Come to my Window” and “The Story.” Just the thought of all that bluesy rock-goodness gives me the tingles in all the right places. Rihanna and Joan Jett Rihanna's suggestive comments are good enough to put her onstage with Joan Jett and win her the honor of decking herself in leather and singing “Bad Reputation” with the Runaways guitarist and all-time lesbian heartthrob. Sleater-Kinney and Beth Ditto Combining ‘90s riot grrl feminist rock group Sleater-Kinney and queer icon Beth Ditto of Gossip would be an unstoppable force of feminist, queercore, pansexual anthems that would have the audience burning bras and fighting for gay marriage. But first, S-K has to reunite. The Cliks and The Veronicas The Veronicas’ Jess Origliasso, who was romantically linked to out Australian VJ Ruby Rose, and her twin sister Lisa, could use a little bit of angst in their pop-punk act, and The Cliks could use a little happiness in their music. Cliks, meet the Veronicas, and they’ll get a finished product of genderqueer chic and Vans. Tegan and Sara and Indigo Girls A duet between these acts would be a melding of two generations of guitar-playing, unrequited love song-crooning lesbian duos, causing lesbians old and young to swoon in their seats. Who would be your dream duet for the Grammys next year? Submitted by on December 21, 2009 - 1:00pm. |

A M A Z I N G!!
good choices! love them all :D
but if I have to choose one...I would choose Brandi Carlile and Melissa Etheridge
Only if I HAVE to!! :)
I don't think main stream is ready for someone like Peaches...if they made a big deal about Adam Lambert's performance, what will they say about Peaches!! Peaches is too much of a sex-bomb for them to handle!! :)Etheridge-Carlile!!
Anything with Melissa in it.. it's amazing... Though Peaches is pretty cool... but people would crap their pants... and The View women would not stop talking about it... haha idk.

Brandi Carlile and Melissa Etheridge...
YES! That's all I have to say.. that would be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !

Brandie Carlile makes the world go round.
kd lang and Anne Murray

"Gaga has finally met her match in over-the-top live performances with the “I Feel Cream” electro-pop rocker. "

That is one complete dream duo
Tegan and Sarah and the
Tegan and Sarah and the Indigo Girls would be totally bizarly interesting actually...
I would be so not that into Brandi Carlile and Melissa Ethridge... sorry.... I'd find Brandi Carlile much more interesting playing with someone more ummm... hmmm....different like Rufus Wainwright or Sia or Anthony and The Johnsons (assuming we are sticking with queery people) - for a more intriguing combinationability!
Dream duets
Missy Higgins and Sarah Bettens
Joan Osborne and Melissa Etheridge (again)
Joan Jett and Linda Perry
Leisha Hailey and Sophie B. Hawkins
I'd so dig
a Lady Gaga and Peaches duet
I'd also love to see Alicia Keys and Meshell Ndegeocello or Uh Huh Her and Missy Higgins. AfterEllen should so make this fantasy list happen for us
hmm
Gaga and Peaches would be
Gaga and Peaches would be amazing, and SK and Beth.
Since the definitions of (openly) queer are very very loose here (Rihanna, Veronicas, Joan Jett) let me propose Elly Jackson and Ladyhawke - about whom I can only speculate, but they'd sound great together.
Brandi and Melissa!
trio
yes! a trio!
the Gossip opened for
Peaches and Gaga!
I love watching both of them just to see what they will do. I can't imagine what would happen if they were put on stage together.
I take that back. I do have a guess or two. Either Lady Gaga or Peaches would end up killing the other (from a spotlight stealing, shock and awe death match), or they would join forces and create something so amazing the universe would implode.
I didn't just kiss her...
ajjajajajajajaj
That would be a good one :)
But I'm pissed with Katy Perry for insulting the Transgenders.

i didn't even know she did
i didn't even know she did that. wow.
first, there was "ur so gay" which clearly uses the term offensively, then there was "i kissed a girl" that beth ditto so eloquently called her out on as being a boner dyke anthem, then there was her saying she was not impressed with beth ditto because of her comments without fucking listening to and/or comprehending what beth ditto meant, and now this.
truthfully, i hope she goes back to christian music and gets the hell out of mainstream. i don't see how anyone thinks of her as a gay icon.
/rant
dream duo.
Meshell and ...Kelis. (you know she's a true freak.)

gaga and peaches
I would actually love
Well..
I thought Peaches hated Lady GaGa? Either way if she could put her hatred aside, it would be a performance of Epic proportions. So epic L.A. would melt from the heat.
I love that lavender blonde... The way she moves the way she walks, I touch myself can't get enough...
~* Sunt îngeraşul tau, dar tu eşti îngerul meu *~
Melissa & Brandi ALL THE WAY
Sleater-Kinney is perfection
lady gaga and peaches
Wow! Fab duets!
They all sound great! I'd love to see GaGa and Peaches, that'd be some show!
However, as a huge Joan Jett fan, I have to say I'd pick someone else other than Rhianna. Since Rhianna's not an out lesbian, how about someone else with queer appeal but not necessarily gay - Joan Jett and Pink. I'd love to see that. I think 'Bad Reputation' would suit Pink too, maybe they could also do 'Trouble' since it's essentialy the same sort of song...
I think Joan and Peaches have already worked together at some point, if I remember correctly...not sure if they ever performed a duet though. I love 'Oh My God' by Pink and Peaches.
What about a more unusal one - Melissa Etheridge and Annie Lennox. Totally different but I think they could blend well together given the right song...
I never listen to things they say, cos what you hear gets in your way (Joan Jett)
