Beyoncé breaks a record and Gaga gays it up at 2010 Grammys

That little girl won album of the freakin' year! That is the dumbest thing I've heard all day!

I'm glad I changed the channel to see the encore of 'Big Love.' I might have thrown my remote at the TV.

I mean, nothing against Taylor- I like her. She plays her own instruments and writes her own music- I deeply respect that. BUT in no way, shape or form should she have gotten AOTY. Just...no.

I've rarely agreed with the Album of the Year winners over the years, and this year isn't any different. Sure Taylor's a great musician, but when it came down to Album of the Year, I don't know if she should've won it, even if she did have the biggest selling album in 2009.

Of the nominees, I think I would've given it to Lady GaGa over Beyonce. The Fame really broke out in 2009, even though the album was released back in August 2008. It put GaGa on the map and the achievements she's managed with all her singles so far off that album are amazing (all singles went to #1 if I'm not mistaken). Beyonce's album pretty much rode on Single Ladies and Halo's success. Also, Beyonce's won big before, so I wouldn't mind giving someone else a shot.

As for favourite moment of the night? I'd have to say Pink's performance. It was a nice change of pace from the rest of the show and a great combo of aerial acrobatics and powerful ballad-belting vocals.

And I'm not a big fan of country music besides being obsessed with the Dixie Chicks, Taylor Swift's Fearleass is actually an amazing album. I have listened to that album through and through so many times I've lost track. She definitely doesn't have the best live voice, but that girl is an amzing song writer. Their's no denying that.

The whole Taylor thing is a little overrated at this point. she has won the awards, now its time for her to go get in a cave somewhere and be gone for a while. lol.

I don't know what you want for album of the year, but hers was incredibly popular as well as acclaimed within the music world. What else is there, really?

One of Taylor's huge strengths is her really broad appeal. Little kids listen to her songs. Old people listen to her songs. Country radio, pop radio, and easy-listening radio all play her songs.  This is strikingly different from Beyonce, who is largely ignored by everyone except the 15-35 age group, and not even all of them. I'm not saying everyone loves Taylor Swift, obviously, but I would suspect the number is much much larger than that of the other people up for Album of the year. Also, many of the songs from that album are popular. I don't think I know any songs on Beyonce's other than Single Ladies and Halo.

As for her duet last night, yes she was off sometimes, but I actually thought that Stevie Nicks was usually the one off. Wasn't paying super close attention so I could be wrong. Also, her song was significantly lower than it usually is. Not sure if that was to accomidate Nicks, but I would suspect it would be a bit tricky to do a song you sing that often in a different key. More so than the original, anyway.

taylor swift was completely incomprehensible, but then again one wouldnt expect any validity coming from an organisation that listed LMFAO on the best electronic/dance album ballot.

 

 

I loved Pinks perfomance, and it looked to me like she was helped into her cloth seat before raising into the air by Dreya Weber who has choreographed arials for Pink before...  Dreya, who played lesbian in The Gymnast and in Everythings Relative.  If so yeah Dreya, that was the most amazingly gorgeous choregraphy ever, and the dipping in water and twirlling rain drops on everyone was just so sexy and sensual and moving!!!!!

I can't freakin' STAND Taylor Swift. Especially now since she got to perform with Stevie. Hero of mine, jussayin'. They could have at least given Carrie Underwood that role...

Gaga should have one aoty over taylor swift hands down.  It was actually hillarious with her up there plucking away with her guitar after some of the other live acts. My wife asked  me to mute her performance it was so off key.  Where is Kanye when you need him, aoty....really?

Beyoncé should have won the best album, loved Black Eyed Peas.

They could have done better with The Michael Jackson Tribute, but i liked it anyway.

OMG! I'm currently watching it, Taylor was totally out of tune in Rhiannon, which is my favourite song of allll time. Can't believe they had Steive Nicks singing back up to Taylor Swift.

Thanks to exams, I missed the Grammy's last night but I cannot wait to youtube all the videos... Especially GaGa and Elton singing Your Song :) And I was ecstatic to hear about Rhiannon until I found out "T.Swift" was featured, fk that. Without a computer editing her voice, she is useless. Harsh? Sorry.

beyonce,  pink, black  eyed peas,  and i thought the michael  tribute was  great!!! loved that  song.   i mean  i've  never  listened to beyonce  but everytime she  performs  on these  shows its amazing. 

But i heard plenty bout it. Havent heard any of taylor swifts music but she has the same effect on as miley cyrus (not good). Lady gaga deserved an award. But my main concern is- why haven't i heard anyone mention Alicia Keys???

And she for damn sure did NOT deserve to win Record of the Year over Pink's 'Sober.' I'm not even a Pink fan and I realize that song is brilliant.

At the end of the day, I think Taylor is a lovely, smart, sweet and talented young lady and I look forward to seeing her songwriting talent flourish... BUT I have to agree with an above poster: I'm starting to think she's getting a pity vote 'cuz of the whole VMA thing.

may i just say that the lady gaga and sir elton john duo is possilbly the best grammy duo ever? actually, fuck "possibly". it definitely is. loved it!

 and although i do like taylor swift and beyonce, gaga totally deserved some of those rewards. i'm still shocked that kings of leon beat all three for record of the year. what the fuck?

P!nk was mindblowing, she delivered a great performance.

ok. i luv the GaGa. i think she's the right amount of crazy that its just awesome. however, i belive that when she's picking out her wardrobe and getting dressed she gets high or wasted or something because there is no WAY she can be like "yeah imma wear this and be awesome" with a clear head. not a chance. dont get me wrong i think its just hilarious and fantastic that she so different but you have to admit sometimes you look at her clothes and have to wonder

Drummerdeeds should give P!nk her props,( If the whole singing thing doesn’t work, P!nk should definitely join the circus., my ass).  Her performance was visually stunning, people in the audience were watching with their mouths hanging open, and she got a standing ovation.  How do you sing perfectly while spinning in the air?  Amazing!
