TV Alert: Erin Daniels reunites with her soup chef on "CSI"

The Soup Chef and Cris-pay together again? Pinch me, I've gone to lesbian heaven or, more accurately, Las Vegas. Erin Daniels will guest star on CSI tonight, ostensibly reuniting her with her The L Word co-star Lauren Lee Smith. Say it with me: Awwww.

The preview for tonight's episode features Erin as well as fellow episode guest stars Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel) and Greg Germann (Fish on Ally McBeal). It also features dead skydivers, love triangles, heart attacks and crazy monks.

Oh, Erin, you're still as funny and adorable as ever. How I've miss seeing you on my TV regularly these last three years.

It's also fun to see Charisma back on TV, and as a blonde no less. She spoke with TV Guide about her CSI guest stint, which apparently includes a “panty party” scene. This is rapidly becoming the best guest star appearance ever.

As she told TV Guide:

I play a slinky little character named Mink, who is a suspect in the murder of her boyfriend because there was a love triangle between her and another sexy little thing played by The L Word's Erin Daniels ... [The dead skydiver] was both of ours [boyfriend]. So there was tension, because we were both vying for his affections and such. You know how competitive that can be. I mean, the three of them were even sharing a trailer ... [The panty party] involves dancing around half-dressed in our little Winnebago.

No word on whether ~~Dana~~ Erin and ~~Lara~~ Lauren share any screen time, though there is hope because Lauren's character, Riley, appears to be working the skydiver case with Nick. Cross your fingers and your toes.

So, are you excited to see Dana and Lara together again? And am I the only one who wishes Lauren would wearing that cute little chef hat for old time's sake?

CSI airs tonight on CBS at 9 p.m. ET.

I would love to watch, but my dvr is set to record bones, 30 rock, and the office (which are my three favorite shows) and they all air during the 9-10 times slot Hopefully someone will create a montage on their scenes that I can watch later.

Fortunately, they run the full CSI episodes from the previous night. It's how I keep up with everything. In fact, all the shows you mentioned are up on their respective networks' web site the day after they air.

I barely recognized Erin Daniels and Charisma Carpenter. Why exactly did they both have to dye their hair blonde? What is up with that? They were both very sexy ladies as brunettes. Now they just look like ordinary sluts.

I don't get why people think blondes are more attractive. I certainly almost never think that un-natural blondes are more attractive than they were with their natural brown hair, and these two are no exception. They were so much hotter as brunettes!

Erin had a recurring role in Swingtown which was cool, but there she was blonde too and sadly wasn't as cute as in the L word. Plus sadly I guess the show didn't get picked up.

I had stopped watching CSI when Jorja Fox left, but since Grey's is a rerun and these two ladies are on it, I guess I'll watch it.

Depends on your tastes I guess.

I happen to love blonde hair, usually when its natural but even so. I like all the other colors too though so maybe my vote doesn't count haha.

I guess another point is she probably doesn't want everyone to see her as Dana and get typecast or worse yet not get cast at all. Changing the hair color probably helps with that.

Apparently men find blondes more attractive because it is more uncommon, and they (subconsciously) want to mate with them to keep the gene pool more varied, thus more healthy. Or something like that.

First we had Lauren and Victoria Pratt (Shalimar from Mutant X) in one episode with Michelle Clunie (Melanie from QAF) nonetheless. And now Erin and Lauren? Excuse me while I thud....

I just hope we don't get cheated like we did when Vicki guest starred. I mean come on, Emma and Shilmar are still one of my favorite fan fic pairings. Plus, the actresses are good friends in real life.

I've been waiting for this because of Charisma Carpenter. But, seriously, not thrilled with the blond hair. Wasn't that established as a bad idea when she was on Angel?

And the love triangle would be so much better if part of it were between her and Erin.

eeeeeee! its triple excitement! actually charisma was never my fave or even close but neither was david and what with watching Bones I like him way more now (not as much as Emily)

but mostly exciting cus of Lauren and Erin!! .. related point - i know someone who looks nearly identical to Lauren, esp. now Lauren has blonde hair. but i prefered it red so perhaps my friend should dye it!

also what is the name of this episode or don't they have them? or something which will make it easy to find afterwards. well if anyone knows and is feeling extra nice, wall me!

I did not know this was coming when I turned on the TV tonight. I was happily surprised. Even though I knew it wouldn't happen, I half expected them mid-scene to just break character. Lauren would say "I'm sorry this is just weird" and they would both break out laughing. It was just weird having them act side by side for even that short period of time. One TV show they're happy and in a relationship together and the next one of them is this serious CSI while the other is over-the-top and bubbly.

Now if my memory is correct....Erin Daniels was in CSI:NY a while back as a detective or something similar..!?!?!

Quite interesting that she is now a suspect in CSI (original)...Love to see them back, unfortunately I'll have to wait for a while no doubt to see them on screen again, erggh to UK terrestial!

I hope you're right, because I caught the title mistake too and really hope it was intentional!

Also, I'm fairly certain I was the only person on earth that preferred the Dana/Lara relationship over the Dana/Alice relationship, so seeing them on screen together again will be lovely :)

Yes, "soup chef" is right. That's a running joke from the show's first season when Dana mistakenly calls Lara a "soup chef" before being corrected by Alice. You can see it here (at the :45 sec mark). Cuteness abounds.

They're actors - that's why they changed their hair ... If actors don't play around with their appearance, they risk playing the same character over and over again.

HotHandle - that comment about them looking like 'ordinary sluts' was highly offensive ... It's bad enough when men use this stereotype.

I'm blonde because it suits me far more than being a brunette - and I don't walk around thinking I deserve special privileges for having blonde hair ... it is, after all - only hair.

can't believe it! A few months back, when it was announced that Lauren is going to join the cast of CSI, I got very excited and I swear I wished Erin would guest on the show! And now this. Although I think somehow there's a plot here. Is this to attract the attention of The L Word fans? But anyway, I'm really glad they decided to put Erin in this episode. I personally loved Lara and Dana!

erin's character got this tiny-sqeaky-that-hurts-my-eardums voice. but i still <3 her.. haven't finish watching it.. but i hope they share a scene..

katherine moennig was in csi miami too.. leisha too in csi las vegas.. i dunno if jennifer or mia or laurel did an episode of csi too...

Yeah, but on CSI, Leisha was totally unrecognizable as a werewolf girl. If you didn't know her voice, you wouldn't have known it was her.

I'm totally bummed that Erin & Lauren didn't really have any screen time together, but that doesn't surprise me considering that the CSI writers do that all the time. They never take advantage of the chemistry of actors who have worked together previously.

The "soup chef" thing was a total play on Dana and Lara's first interaction together on TLW. Although I love Dana/Alice best, there was definite chemistry between Dana/Lara. On CSI, there was one TINY part where Lauren/Lara says something to the two women, but no dialog between Erin and Lauren. Too bad! I was really hoping to see them together again in some fashion. I miss Erin!! Can't wait for the movie "Portland" to be released. I guess it's still in pre-production.
