The Material Girl shares her "Glee"In case you haven’t noticed, the world has come down with a severe case of Glee. They’re on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. They’ve snagged Joss Whedon to direct an episode. Sue Sylvester even picked a Twitter fight with Chuck Norris. (She kicked his bearded butt, naturally.) Now, even Madonna is a Gleek.
The Material Girl has granted the freshman phenomena the rights to her entire musical catalogue. An all-Madonna musical episode is in the works for early next year. As if the show could get any gayer.
The shows producers also report that they’re trying to woo American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert to guest on the show as well. He even already has the right outfit. Sheesh, it’s almost like they’re hogging all the gay now.
The Madonna news is particularly exciting because some of the show’s musical picks have been a little musty. “The Thong Song?” “Bust a Move?” At this rate I half expect “Ice, Ice Baby” to pop up. And if that happens I’m going to have to sit someone down for a long talk.
So as we wait to find out which songs make the list, let’s brainstorm our favorite Madge selections. Who should sing what? My picks? Quinn sings “Like a Virgin.” (Irony!) Kurt does “Vogue.” (Too obvious?) Sue goes “Erotica?” (Dear God, make this happen!) And for Rachel maybe “Like a Prayer,” Express Yourself” or “Crazy for You?” Oh, the delicious possibilities.
So, are Madonna and Glee a match made in musical heaven? Who should sing what? And what other music would you love to see New Directions tackle. Wait? You don’t watch Glee? KILL YOURSELF! Submitted by on October 23, 2009 - 4:00pm. |

Be still, my heart
Be still, my heart ...
That will be one of the best days of my young TV-life! :)
Gleek
thong song.
THIS
Madonna
Personally I think Madonna shows her 'glee' too often for a woman of her age. Ditch the leotard Madge. Children could write essays on your 'glee'!

If you got it, flaunt it!

Signed, sealed, and stamped.
FANTASTIC!
... and about time. I feel like the choices are SO obvious. As soon as I heard Quinn was pregnant, I immediately started waiting with baited breath for her to sing "Papa Don't Preach". Imagine my disappointment when I didn't get it. Now I know why! And now I probably will. YAY!!! Other song choices:
1. Kurt/Mercedes- Material Girl
2. The whole Abstinence Club- Like A Virgin
3. The whole Glee Club- Music
4. Any of the Unrequited Lovers (Everybody that's crushin on Finn/Puck for Quinn/Emma to Will)- Take A Bow
5. Tina to Rachel- Justify My Love (although that is admittedly just wishful thinkin, and lesbian winkin ;-p *ahem* Rachel/Quinn would work just as well *ahem*)
P.S. And when the HELL is Sue going to lead the Cheerios in a good old fashioned rendition of "Hey Mickey"? <--- NEEDS TO HAPPEN!
I Second That
Yes!
The show def needs a kick up
The show def needs a kick up the arse to improve things alright. I loved the 1st few episodes, but then the rest just seem like fillers or something similar for the finale which is an awful shame. Just my opinion. Still, they handled the gay episode where the little fella comes out very well, perhaps the rest of the series will improve!
I just hope that we dont actually have to see Madonna's arms on the show, if we did id turn it off for good.
I'm soooo excited!!!
Glee is already good but with Madge's songs,it'd probably kick it up a notch. Yeah, agreed with author of this post, the songs they have been singing were a little corny.
GLEEK Number One...
that's me! I love this show, although I hated the throwing Slushies in everybody's face that happened last episode. It was mean, cruel, totally unnecessary, and what a waste of a good drink.
I love Madonna, and being tremendously old school (Jane Lynch, Madonna and I are all the same age), I love that they sing and dance to "old" music on "Glee". Hey, it's only "old" music if you are a young person. It doesn't seem old to me.
Now, if only they would have a lesbian character on the show, maybe in Season 2? And, for Pete's sake, give poor Kurt a boyfriend already! He is way too cute to be single.
