I'm gonna have to pass.  I really loved the first 5 seasons of the L Word but I feel like this is a bit of overkill, is it not?  Before purchasing it I'd love to leaf through it.  I'm concerned that the posted pictures are the best ones!

I just went to the official page and was scrolling through the images and saw the pic of Erin Daniels laughing and my heart literally sank.

I thought to myself "It makes me so sad that she's dead. She was so beautiful."

Then I realized that I was looking at the actress... whose character died.

I would love to see it in person. $40 is kind of expensive, considering I wasn't a huge fan of the show. The photos look so amazing though. But the layout looks ugly. I mean, they just pasted a bunch of photos anywhere on white pages. They could have made a nicer book on Blurb or Snapfish or something.

I ordered the book more to have images captured by Jennifer Beals than anything else. I've loved her since I was a teenager (nearly 30 years ago) and look at this as an opportunity to own something she created. For me she was The L Word. I want to see what she saw. Besides I'm a photographer so I look forward to seeing her work.

Receiving a thank you email from JB was the icing. I'll save it forever (seriously).

I don't really like the design of the pages, it doesn't seem like much thought was put into it. I know they were probably going for a "less is more" look, but there's just too much negative space in my opinion. Although the cover looks awesome, especially if it's textured.

This has to be the most entertaining thing to ever come from this series.

 

... JB takes the pics so she's not in them. That's a shame!

it's a beautiful little journal.  Almost better than the pictures, which are fun, are the "interviews" and scraps of call sheets and articles.   It's wonderful to read through it and look with fond memories at the pictures.

Oh yeah, and there ARE pictures of JB throughout.  Not as many as of the rest of the ladies, but enough to make this JB fanatic a happy woman.  

Off to curl up with a glass of wine and the book.

Hello Gang, this is my first post =) I'm honored to be a member. 

I signed up here and at another site to discuss this book, plus this is an awesome site.

I understand some of the fist responses, I don't think those pictures are doing a lot of justice to the actual book.

I'll begin with the bad, not enough Pam Grier, but that's just me.

Now for the good: absolutely everything else. Honestly, I loved it.  My husband ordered this for me because we were both fans of the show. He more so than me, lol, yet I was/am a fan. We began watching because of Pam Grier, had no idea what the "L" stood for throughout the whole first ep. No matter we were hooked.

I quit watching after s3 (dismayed) he continued, unfazed.  I just recently finished the series. Most was good in my opinion, some crazy! However, I still liked the series as a whole.

The book, its great, I love the pictures, the stories, and interviews. I couldn't put it down.  The best parts are the personal notes and insights. Although I wasn't as invested as some of the devoted fans, I loved learning about the cast. I mainly liked the candidness with members like Rose, and D. Sea, Rachel, and MM. Though there's lots from JB, and LH as well.

I also think that had just some of the text from cast members been shown as examples from the book on here, and other sites that maybe some of the comments may have been a little different, but maybe not. I just think you really have to see it to describe it IMHO.

My friend who was not a particularly huge fan of the show, (ok she hated it) read my book, and has ordered one of her own. 

That someone would invest the time and energy to do this for fans and charity is also very cool!

I pre-ordered and have already received my book, a few weeks ago already now.  I LOVE it - it takes the sting out of S6 and reminds me of all that TLW was... Supporting the Matthew Shepard Foundation etc is a great gesture of JB as well, keeping attention on LGBT issues that matter and need some spotlighting.  My favorite pic in the whole book is of Laurel sitting on a couch in a trailer, and JB is in the lower right of the image, reflected in a mirror as she takes the shot.  I love those two together in any essence :) 

I will most definitely have my order in very, very soon.
