"Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" lives to fight a full season

Sarah Connor now has a little more time to fight the future. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles got picked up for a full season over the weekend. Lower ratings recently have caused fans to worry that the show might be canceled. But Fox showed some faith in Lena Headey, Summer Glau and company.

The show started off down some 2 million viewers since its first year, but the show has shown signs of human (not artificial) life recently, gaining more than a quarter-million viewers and bringing its viewership close to 6 million a week. That basically ties it with time-slot competition Chuck.

Fans of the show now get to breathe a sigh of relief and relax into the full season. And what a season it has been, with the addition of Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson as Catherine Weaver, the tech-company CEO and evil, liquid-metal terminator.

So, excited about the news? Excited about the new season? And, seriously, what’s with the pre-apocalyptic chic look the ladies have been wearing? Slate is apparently totally “in” at the end of the world.

    Well I personlly gonna watch the rest of the season, atleast when it air here in sweden...

    But still awesome news! Can't wait... 

    What more do you nead in a show? Lena Heady, Summer Glau AND Shirly Manson wow

    I'm so pleased that Fox gave the thumbs up for the rest of the season.

    I've been a huge Lena Headey fan since Imagine Me and You and I love The Sarah Connor Chronicles, it's like getting a mini-movie every week. And they've had some really beautiful film sequences, such as the slow motion beginning of Samson and Delilah.

    It's great that Fox is giving the show a chance, it's very popular with a lot of people I know, both for its entertainment value and its hot stars.

    cool! I had no idea that it was in trouble I mean it's the freaken Terminator!  That fact is one of three reason's why I watch this show and the other two are Lena Headey and Summer Glau. cuz they're hot! ;)

    I'm happy I'll still be getting my weekly dose of Lena, Summer and Shirley. Let me say that Shirley's brogue is one of my reasons for being. That woman is beautiful, has a great singing voice, a great accent and she's over 40, that's right Shirley's 42. 

    Can't wait for tonight's episode.

    I live and breathe Garbage. I've been a devote fan for many years. I adore Shirley. For that reason I decided to give the show a shot. Even Lena couldn't pull me to the show before. I could only stand one episode. It is so hollow- I just couldn't get into it. And the way the emo-kid treats his mom- Arg.

    I guess the show just didn't have enough of women standing on their own for my taste.

    Though I must say- having Shirley sing the opening song of the first ep in season 2 was quite pleasant.

    That's awesome news.  When I first heard that they were having some ratings issues, I wasn't too optimistic.  I mean, it is Fox.  It's nice to see that maybe they've learned their lesson.

    was safe in the first place.....We record it every week and watch it the next day.

    Dont you think  with the new tv sets or cable boxes maybe they should have a built in nelson rating thing in each box or tv? then we could really fine out what people actually watch.

    Yeah, would definitely be interesting; way too many of the shows I like get the shaft because they aren't targeted at the demographics that Nielsen draws their "families" from.  Essentially nothing that single young people watch gets counted (especially true for students), oddly enough, they are the most coveted demographics. Kinda weird too, one would think that the networks would be interested in having more accurate statistics.

    Anyway, Tivo tracks usage, don't they? I wonder why they don't popularize it more.

    The same thing happened with music, in the last 10-15 years: originally they just used what music store employees reported to measure popularity (essentially just their impression of what was "hot"), once they started using actual sales data, it showed just how wildly inaccurate the "self-reporting" was.  And now digital downloads provide far more accurate data.

    with Ariann.  I watch the show online since I don't have cable and I doubt they are checking the hits on the website. 

    It's a fun, entertaining, edge of your sit ride and since Battlestar isn't on I need some sort of substite and this fills the slot.  Let's just hope we get another season out of it and Fox doesn't screw us over like they did to us with Firefly.

    I'm not a fan of the show at all. Gave it a chance and was really disappointed. I dunno if any of you have seen Terminator and Terminator 2 but this show doesn't compare at all to those movies.

    However, I do like the actress who plays Sarah Connor.

    Same here: Lena Heady is awesome and the show looks great, but it's just really dull.  Common problem in writing - you create these great characters, but then can't come up with anything compelling for them to do.

    Oh Shirley Manson... Ten years and I still have a crush on you.... And as much as I love finally seeing you again, I'm a bit saddened that you're not singing. When will I get to fanatically scream at your concerts again? Though I'm not one to complain about seeing Lena and Shirley within the same hour and on the same show.... Yowza.

    Well, she may not be singing 'live' on the show- but they have featured her in at least one song. She sang at the beginning of the 1st ep this season.

    As far as her career goes.. she's in the middle of her solo album that probably won't be released.. and I think Garbage broke up again- didn't they?

    Anyways.. I'll keep my fingers crossed with you. :)

    I am glad that garbage is no long together. As far as her solo career I am not sure if I want that to succeed either. I mean the girl is hott she should be on TV or movies. Don't get me wrong I like her as a singer to but would rather see her on screen.

    The show definitely has some issues to work on but I still love watching it. Ok so Lena, Summer and Shirley are a big part of it. I have seen all the Terminator movies and I really am enjoying learning more about the Terminators and how they operate. Loved the scene at the start of the season when Cameron's chip was messed up and she was begging John to not turn her off, creepy and fascinating. I think if I'd just watched one or two episodes I wouldn't have been into it as much. I too watch it online on the Fox site because I'm not home that night. I wish they would count that in their ratings. Glad it's going to continue!

    that would have been horrible to have the show cancelled, especially that we just getting a glimpse of the evil plan of Catherine Weaver... although I think there will be some twists and turns and might even be some "cylonish" theoretical/spiritual (insert the word that describes best what the cylons are doing for our mutual benefit:) moves... we'll see - well, we'll see now that they are doing the show thank the gods!

    I just finished watching the latest ep on my DVR and it keeps on getting better. I'm a sci-fi freak and other than  BSG this is the only decent thing on TV in the genre.  I love Lena , but Summer makes me squeal like a schoolgirl. I'm even pumped about Brian austin green finally making a comeback.

    I did like it when it first aired, but when there's only one TV in the house it's hard to sit, relax and admire Miss Headey. The folks were not impressed that I was wasting a full hour a week on eye candy. But now there's about 3 eyes and a trillion candy! So let's go, I say!

    The only reason I started watching from the beginning was after finding out Shirley would be in the second season! But now I'm totally engrossed in the show, I love it!

    It took me awhile to get into this show, put I continued watching durring the first season.  I must say, this season has me hooked.  I can say with honestly that I watch this show not only because Lena Heady it crazy hot, but because its plot is starting to get really good!

    Hmm, unlike some others I much prefer the show to the movies. I love the pace of the show, and the look.

    I do wish it were more about Sarah Connor and less about John, but I can see why they're playing that angle. Still, there's just enough subtext between Cameron and Sarah for me to dig the show on more perverse levels so I can write fic about it :p

    I think the idea of a terminator gaining some kind of humanity is keeping me watching, also. Seeing if Cameron evolves, and if she's actually a good guy in the end has me hooked.

    I'm so glad they're keeping it on.

    I am very glad the show will continue. I really love it, although of course there are some weaknesses. I have been a die hard fan of the movies ever since.. so I would know. But I really enjoy this new approach.

    Great actress and great interaction with Summer Glau.  This show has a very dry and dark sense of humor.  Hard to pull off humor when you are fighting for your life but these ladies do it with style.  This is an excellent show and I am so happy that it will air for a full season.

         I love this show but then im a total sci-fi nut! And it doesn't hurt to have 2 brutally gorgeous ladies starring in this thing. I also adore the new Battlestar Galactica too! Im just glad I can get it in Blu-ray so I can drool over Summer and Lena when ever I want to. Yummy!

         On another note, I'm a totally straight guy and I have 2 gay brothers and I completely support the gay & lesbian community! One side of our government (R) seems to forget that you are actually living, breathing people! They seem to think you can just suddenly decide not to be what you are! But I know better! This straight guy is on your side!

    yay!  i love the dynamic of sarah conner and cameron more and more.  plus we never see this type of relationship between 2 women on tv.  very playful and something sexy about it, or maybe thats just me.
