New promo shows Fox is ready to play "Dollhouse"

With Joss Whedon's Dollhouse finally (hopefully) in order, Fox released a new promo trailer for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator's much-anticipated new science-fiction series. After shutdowns, rewrites and reshoots, the show is set to reintroducing itself and its star, Eliza Dushku.

The new trailer again lays out the show's premise — that living “dolls” are reprogrammed with memories, abilities, emotions to cater to a client's wishes — as well as its central question: Can you wipe away a soul?

While the first trailer released in May shows more of the whole cast, the new spot focuses almost solely on Eliza's character, Echo. We see more of her many faces from sinner to savior, lover to killer. Mood swings, what mood swings?

While Eliza is the star of the show and the promo, I'm interested in seeing more of her female costars. We catch a glimpse of British actress Olivia Williams as the “beautiful, sophisticated, cold as an alp” Adelle DeWitt who runs the Dollhouse.

And there is still no peek from either trailer at Angel alum Amy Acker as Dr. Claire Saunders, the doctor who looks after the dolls. We want Fred, err, Claire!

So, what do you think about the new trailer? Are you ready to play house? Or do all the show's troubles make you nervous about its January start date? Discuss.

I do wait to see this

I really hope that it can impress the fox execs so they will let it live a long and happy life on Tv. Trailer looks cool, I do look forward to it playing out in full. I just hope it does not conflict with other shows I am addicted to.

not usually a sci-fi fan

well, i think im going to give this show a shot. it seems like one of those cross-over sci-fi shows that reaches a wider audience like quantum leap, buffy (duh), x-files. i hope it reaches it's full potential because it could definitely be a hit with the right storylines.

I don't know if I'll like

I don't know if I'll like it, but I'll give it a try.

I tend to like TV shows with a woman as a main character, so I may like it. Mainly because it isn't any main character, it's Eliza Dushku.

I'm looking forward to this,

I'm looking forward to this, but mostly for the story. I'm not much of a fan of Eliza Dushku. I don't know why, but she kind of grates on me the wrong way, and I've never really been a fan of any of the characters she's played.

i know what you mean...

she's hot, but there's always something about the characters she plays that i just dont completely buy into. still, it's joss and amy acker, so ill tune in anyway.

I second that...

I find Eliza extremely attractive and every time I see an interview with her she is such a pleasent person. That being said I have such a hard time falling in love with any characters that she plays. Do you know how frustrating it is being a personal fan of someone's and not enjoying their acting?

Nevertheless this show looks great and I can't wait for it. Everything Joss touches turns to gold and yes that includes Firefly which I happen to own and love. And I'm not even a Sci-Fi fan. We'll just have to wait and see wont we!

Fox has pushed it back to February

And now it will air on Fridays starting on Feb 13. They're also moving the Sarah Connor Chronicles to Fridays.

What is with Fox dumping

What is with Fox dumping all their shows on Fridays?  The other days of the week aren't exactly full of great television and Friday is a dead zone.

With the way things have

With the way things have been going lately, I expect that the tinkering that had to be done was a purge of any hint of lesbian subtext.  Or, maybe they are programmed to seek out the nearest phallic shaped object the moment they feel any stirrings of same-sex attraction.

HURRY UP AND GIVE IT TO ME!

The anticipation is killing me. I don't think I can stand the wait.
