New "Chloe" trailer shows a business transaction plus benefits
Oh what a tangled web we weave when you hire a prostitute to seduce our husband and then get seduced by said prostitute instead — I think. The first U.S. trailer for Chloe has been released and if there was any doubt that Julianne Moore and Amanda Seyfried share something more than a business transaction, this should effectively squash it.
While the international trailer showed more skin, the American trailer gives us a better sense of the story with its twists, turns and lovers scorned.
Based loosely on the French film Nathalie, Chloe seems to push the relationship between the wife and her sleuth-and-more further than the original. These new promotional stills (via Amanda Seyfried Daily) certainly suggest more than the aforementioned simple business transaction.
Unless, of course, Julianne’s character Catherine is paying Chloe in kisses, in which case, carry on.
Now, I have a sneaking suspicion this will all not end well. I highly doubt anyone is going to stand on top of a cab and yell “You’re a wanker, No. 9!” right before the credits roll. But the film is still incredibly intriguing, not just for its stellar cast but also its charged sexual dynamic.
Do I worry too that the whole thing might devolve into another, tired crazy-lesbian-is-crazy story? A little. No one needs to see Amanda go all Single White Lesbian on Julianne. But I trust in director Atom Egoyan’s darkly layered vision.
With films like Exotica (starring Mia Kirshner) and The Sweet Hereafter, Egoyan has made thoughtful work that push past people’s comfortable emotions to the shadowy edges we’d often rather not talk about. And I expect nothing less in Chloe.
Chloe opens in limited release in New York and Los Angeles March 26. It opens earlier in the month in several European cities. So, are you excited? Are you scared?
As Amanda levels those big, big eyes at us, I’ll admit to being a lot of both.

I'm intrigued, because it actually seems like a pretty good plot, if not a little cliched haha.
Sadly though, it really does seem like its gonna be that stereotype lesbian movie where the lesbian is psychotic lol. I wonder if they're gonna go with the other stereotype and one of them is going to die in the end? Oh well,
I also really like Liam Nieson, sad to see him as kind of a 'bad' guy who cheats on his wife.

I am very much intrigued! I had not heard about this movie before this and it seems like the story might not end like one would hope, and THAT I like!
Plus I never thought the girl with ESPN could play such a mysterious sexy character hahaha. I'm not much of a blond person but she is definitely making me want to watch this!

Impressive
I'm very impressed with a range of roles that Amanda has taken. I never thought of Amanda as a sexbomb but a quirky and sweet girl. From the trailers of Chloe, she so proves me wrong. The girl is GORGEOUS and hella SEXY!
1:23 in the trailer pretty much gives away how the movie is gonna end. I get that the character Chloe is a psycho bisexual/lesbian who is obsessed (maybe in love?) with Julianne's character and it's not gonna end well yet I'm still so intrigued and excited to see. Who knows, with the recent massive success of "Dear John", Chloe may get a mainstream release.
Love pictures #3 and #6. There are still tender moments in this psychological thriller.

The trailer focuses more on the twist and psychological aspect than the sexy part which I find very amusing. I've got the impression that Chloe is not a psycho lesbian but just a psycho stalker who wants to mess up Catherine's life. Hey, maybe that's good news! (sad, I know).

About Chloe, I only saw the trailer today! Have to say the story seems familiar to me.. (maybe I've read a book/ or seen something on tv that had a similar ring to it.... but I've not watched Nathalie). I might watch this film though, purely because Amanda Seyfried is growing on me as an actress and maybe, just maybe.. this film might hold something more than what you would naturally expect from a narrative like this.
I always pronounce Amanda's surname as 'Say-FRIED'. I know its not correct though, but the tendency remains.

Likely have to suspend the lesbianism element as a draw and just see it as a Thriller because I do think it's going to disappoint as a lesbian love story film-- but I can do that.

Kind of Spoilers, Explanation of 'Lesbian 'Scene'
Fight fire with fire
The movies premise is about the 'need' for intimacy. Julianne's character wants to be able to re connect with her husband. Chloe is the avenue she takes. Chloe, needs love, she is dealing with falling in love with Julianne's character. In turn, Julianne's character is dealing with her attraction to Chloe. The sex scene is about both women desiring something in one another, that they have lost/ not yet experienced. Its a very interesting look at the affect desire can have on us when we are longing so much for it.

I just saw Chloe.
It's a good movie, but it is different from the original. If people were speculation whether the two women in the original movie had sex, there is no need to speculate on this movie. They have a sex and Chloe refeals her feelings for Catherine at some point.
Just too bad that the title character also turns out to be a stalker and a little creepy.
If you haven't seen the original, go see this movie. The twists and turns make it interesting. If you have seen the original... go see it anyway because it has Julianne Moore in it!
