New "Alice" trailer is some kind of wonderfulThe new Alice in Wonderland is making me curiouser and curiouser. In fact, I’d say I’m downright mad for the movie now that a new, full-length trailer has been released. While I enjoyed the original teaser trailer released in July, this version vastly improves on its predecessor.
How vastly? I’d gladly jump down the rabbit hole and pledge allegiance to whichever queen will make March 5 come faster — that vastly. While the original looked fun and fanciful, the new cut adds a needed dark edge to the affair. Even the previously released footage seems to have been punched up. Everything is just a little more menacing and at the same time more hilarious. Now that’s a clever trick.
The trailer also reveals the heart of the story: Alice (Aussie newcomer Mia Wasikowska) returns to Wonderland as a young woman years after her fist visit. What she finds is far from wonderful as the evil, big-headed — quite literally — Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) has taken over the land. Hell, I’d buy a ticket just to watch Helena plop her feet down on a pig belly.
The glimpses of Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and, of course, Johnny Depp as the delightfully freaky Mad Hatter are enticing as well.
But it’s that showdown between Alice in armor and the legions of the Red Queen that has me most intrigued. Off with her head looks like a real possibility.
Has the new trailer made you ready to step through the looking glass? Now I’d happily give my sentence first, verdict afterwards. Submitted by on December 17, 2009 - 5:00pm. |

Alice In Wonderland...
Yaaaaay
This looks so epic. I pretty much love everything that Tim Burton does, so it'll be hard for me to come away from this movie hating it, but I don't think I will anyway. The special effects/new take on the story seem very promising.
Also, was it just me, or was Helena Bonham Carter channeling Bette Midler circa "Hocus Pocus"?

a tim burton visual feast it promises to be!
Can't wait.

Im absolutely giddy with excitement! I love everything else that Tim Burton has given us and this looks like it won't disappoint

Dear Tim Burton,
I challenge you to make a movie that a) has an original plot line that is not just a whimsical/creepy rehashing of someone else's story, and b) maybe stars someone other than Johnny Depp. Just sayin.
...though I will be paying $10.50 to see your latest rehash masterpiece. I just can't resist.

I love you.
This movie looks fantastic. I want to go to the midnight showing if it's available.
Oh Tim Burton
I'm still trying to forgive you for de-Jewing the Corpse Bride, thus depriving me of the Jewish "princess" I had longed for as a child. I had to settle for Tanya Mousekewitz.
That being said, I will probably still go see this movie. But Tim, it still burns.

Tim Burton!
Tim Burton never disappoints, he always delivers. He's what I would call a genius. His filmography speaks for himself. I'm sure "Alice in Wonderland" will be stunning.

Looking good!
Really cant' wait to see it. But, as I live in Finland, it won't come here until, say....May. *le sigh*

I don't think
Mis is such a "newcomer." I've seen her in a few movies and her turn on In Treatment, was textured and quite deep. Okay, this is her first starring role....
I think she's marvelous and the movie looks like an acid trip. I adored Burton's Sweeney Todd (as well as everything else he's done), so I'm first in line, biotches!
Have to watch it again since
Have to watch it again since all I could do was trying to figure out who Johnny Depp looked like. Now I have, so I can go on and really watch the trailer.
I did notice though that this older version of Alice
has great assetsis totally HOT!Oh, and Johnny Depp definitely looks like Elijah Wood with those big creepy green eyes.
I always
need a drink to recover from Tim Burton's movies. They're good, but the images just mess me up. The poster of Depp alone made me run to the Goose. I'm looking forward to it though!
I'll step through that looking glass
You have to admit this looks
You have to admit this looks amazing. I have a massive poster of Johnny as the Mad Hatter on my wall already, my Dad got a promo poster for me. It's creepy and amazing :D

Alice in Wonderland 3D
I just saw the 3-d in IMAX trailer last night (watching Avatar) and am totally looking forward to this movie. I will spend the extra $4 for IMAX and $3 for 3D and will watch it on opening weekend. It looks awesome. I can't get over how much the 3D effects have improved from when I was a kid and how realistic it looks. In addition, everything suits the story. I was curious why Disney decided to do an adult-ish version, and grinned when I heard a new redition of music from their animated version. Can't wait!
show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes ...
That trailer is AWESOME! Man, I hope it comes to our IMAX theatre. I'm goin' to see it regardless. Johnny Depp is perfect as the Mad Hatter. And Helena .. . oh, yes. I've had a thing for her since "Fight Club"
all dark & twisty & hot ... emmm.
my intentions. are good. -M Nd
This movie looks like so
I'm going. Helena Bonham
I'm going. Helena Bonham Carter is amazing.
"Kissing..? Me? A boy? You're mad. You're all bloddy mad!"
Can't wait to rent it! ;)
I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS :D
I was like "bleh"
But the trailer looks amazing! The visual effects... the way the characters have been brought to life... I just might watch this movie.

This movie will make me forget all about Charlie & The Chocolate Factory eeekkk! I heart Tim Burton & Johnny & Helena & Anne Hathaway.

Tim Burton's adaptations are
Tim Burton's adaptations are really, really hit or miss. (I still remember Planet of the Apes even though he doesn't want me too).
I'm not liking the trailer, it's coming off creepy and just.... a waste of Depp's talent.
And I realize the book for fucked up to no end, but... I don't know. It just doesn't look like a good flick to me.

Sudol the SkyNet: Barely Sentient Since 2009!
I like Helena Bonham Carter,
I like Helena Bonham Carter, but I think she's wrong for the Queen of Hearts (the Red Queen) mainly because she's not-how can I put this delicately-portly enough! Instead, I would have cast Cathy Bates or a British actress with more ample dimensions. It's also going to be interesting to see who's going to play the March Hare against Depp's Mad Hatter.

A definite must-see!
Oh yeah, I wondered about the march hare too!
I love Helena Bonham Carter (especially as Mrs. Lovett), and can't wait to see this movie.
