Finally a doctor in the "House," but not for long

After two, yes two, months away, House is finally back tonight. But, before you get all “Yay, Olivia Wilde, yay!” on me, let me break the bad news to you. The medical drama has only three new pre-strike episodes left. And they will blow them all within the next week. House’s new diagnostic team had better be fast learners.

Now, I’m not sure why Fox would hoard the last remaining new episodes until the new year, only to blow through them as quickly as possible. And don’t lie about the hoarding, Fox. Call me Sherlock, but something tells me tonight’s episode wasn’t supposed to air at the end of January.

 

Then Sunday, following the Super Bowl, comes a very special House episode, featuring very special guest star/very special patient of the week Mira Sorvino. The Oscar winner will play a doctor stationed at the South Pole who gets treated by House & Co. via webcam. This is one of those moments you have to really believe in your ISP.

Then the last fresh House will air Feb. 5, and will involve the not-so good doctor treating a newly converted Hasidic Jewish woman. Man, you just know some decidedly un-PC House-isms are going to be flying in that episode.

While all the remaining new cases sound interesting, I’m most intrigued by the ongoing mystery of Olivia’s enigmatic and as-of-yet still nameless doctor Thirteen. And is anyone else piqued by the fact that the she is wearing what appear to be old-school suspenders and a ribbed tank top in her official cast photo? Suspenders and a tank top? Are you trying to tell us something, Fox? Is this Thirteen’s secret? Because if that’s the case, I’ll take back every nasty thing I've ever said about Rupert Murdoch.

    I love House and while I was worried about all the new cast members coming in (since I love the old cast, especially Dr. Cameron), I have come to enjoy the new cast members, especially "Thirteen".  Now if only we could have "Thirteen" and Cameron enjoy some onscreen time together (sigh!).
     
    I am dismayed with the scheduling of the last remaining House episodes and only hope that the writers strike will soon be resolved so that they can get back to writing some fresh episodes and so that we the audience/fans can watch some fresh episodes without interruption.

    Talk about a scary moment.. I was just thinking that House is finally back and then I refreshed the rss feed and saw this... :P

    I didn't realise there were only a few episodes left, though. That is troubling news... It's quite evil of them (the other Fox) to make us go through withdrawls, then give us a fix and disappear for an unknown period of time... Evil, I say.

    Ah, if only HOUSE would have the lovely Thirteen beone of the family! I love the show, but I found her a bit annoying. Bring back Cut Throat Bitch!! I'm a Cuddy fan too, so just hoping there's plently of her in these last 3 eps.

    The only episodes of The OC i ever watched were the ones that had the Olivia Wilde/Mischa Barton relationship in them. She is so beautiful its not even funny.

    Unless it's got  all those beautiful ladies in it!  Love 13, Cuddy and of course, Cameron.

    Maybe they are hoping to make some sort of a deal with the writers before 3 more eps is up?  In any case, nice to see Greg et al back for a bit.

    i'm loving that the show is going to be back even for a little while but i really don't like the new team. I want cutthroat bitch back and i'd like to see a bit more of Cameron. But at least we don't have to wait till like April for new episodes as with Bones.Please end this strike soon.

    i got bored of House after a while, but if they have the likes of Thirteen and her tank tops and suspenders, i may well have to develop a renewed interest in the programme. although a somewhat untimely one judging by the number of pre-strike eps left. damnit.

    by the way 'Ahoyhoy' to Megan Gedris - it's kick-ass you're on here, i adore your comics, and am seriously intrigued to see what's happening next. thanks for making my pre-work internet 'favourites' trawlings all the more enjoyable :D

    I was so glad when they changed things up and got a new team for House, especially with the way they handled it. The last season just dragged on and on with the old team. Too bad they brought Foreman back.

    I'm sad that we only get three more episodes with Thirteen (and Cuddy! I love Cuddy!), but I hold out hopes that she'll be back next season. If there's a next season. Sigh. She's such an intriguing character. But so was Cut Throat Bitch. I hope that wasn't the last we saw of CTB.

    that 13's secret is shes a lesbian then maybe house would stop oggling her. Does anyone remember 13 playing mischa bartons girlfriend for like three episodes on The OC. Sadly I remember watching the OC but those three or four episodes made it so worth it.

    GAY!  Well, bi, but you know, oh my god!  And I love how they don't make a huge deal out of it.  The attitude is that no ones cares, and they're surprised that she thinks they would care.  Amazing.  I'm hoping she hooks up with Cuddy.

    taken from tv guide magazine "House may lost ir completely when Thirteen's love life starts to sizzle later this season. Wilde won't reveal what happens but says. "There's romance ahead, and it's shocking. Whoever you'd imagine her with isn't who she ends up with, and it causes all sorts of complications."

    Thirteen doesn't confirm or deny whether she's bisexual.

    foreman says: "And the fact that you're bisexual..." and 13 gives him a surprised glare and says nothing.

    near the end of the episode House asks her

    "You do it both ways right?" and she replies "What...?"

    "The ultrasound. You do it standing up and laying down....Why what else would I be talking about!?"
