Five fantastically funny females come together for "You Again"I am going to list a bunch of actresses and I want you to bring your own personal applause meter (in your head — or not depending on how cool you co-workers/schoolmates are) to bear. Are you ready? Here comes: Sigourney Weaver, Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kristin Chenoweth and Betty White.
Are you on your feet yet? Have you thrown roses? Very good, because those women are all exceptional and hilarious and worth chapping your palms for (in a totally not naughty way — or not). Well, what if I were to say they were all going to be in the same movie, together, cranking the female awesome factor to 11? I’ll take that roar as your approval.
Sure, it’s a little too early to call for an encore, but the assembled female cast for the new Disney comedy You Again certainly peaks the interest and ups the anticipation. The story revolves around a girl (Bell) who returns home only to find out her brother is marrying her arch nemesis and chief tormentor from high school (Cloverfield’s Odette Yustman) and sets about to stop the nuptials.
One would hope that hilarity ensues, and not just hurt feelings, a terrible family rift and a lifetime of uncomfortable Thanksgiving dinners. Curtis plays Bell’s mother, Weaver her rich aunt and White her grandmother. Chenoweth plays “a wedding extraordinator.” That, right there, just sold my ticket. I would watch Kristin extraordinate anything.
And if you tell me Betty fondles any of the aforementioned women’s ladybits, I’ll buy two tickets.
Wedding hijinks films have a hit (My Best Friend’s Wedding) and miss (Bride Wars) and good-God-why (Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas — Google it, it’s real) track record. So, here’s hoping this is more Julia Roberts and less fake fat Elvis in a jumpsuit. So, what do you think? Will you be interested in seeing You Again? Submitted by on June 23, 2009 - 4:00pm. |

I'd watch her extraordinate anything, too! In fact, I'm pretty sure I'd watch her staring at a rock for all I care, because the woman is amazing and utterly hilarious. I like Kristen Bell as well, so I'm hoping this movie will be good!
Oh, and of course Maddie (her little dog) had to be in that picture with her and Betty White too, LOL. Adorable.

Agreed. Kristin is a goddess.

Cheno!
Oh Cheno, how I adore you. I can't wait until she's on Glee.
And regardless of whatever roles Kristen Bell has in her career, I will always think of her as Veronica Mars.
This will be the first Disney movie I've seen in a good long time. Props to the casting agent!
