Celebrity mug shots: the good, the bad and the crumpin'

In this month's issue of Jane magazine, stars from the Sundance Film Festival (uh, wasn't that in January?) answered the question "What‘s your crime?" for a photo shoot. These true confessions came in the form of mug shots spelling out these so-called crimes. The spread yielded nary a felony (OK, Paul Rudd's answer raises an eyebrow ... ), but there were plenty of admissions of bad behavior and nasty habits.

My favorite: Mandy Moore pleading guilty to her crimes against our eardrums as the "Singer of 'Candy.'"

Other honorable mentions: Kristen Bell the reckless/rage-filled driver, Ellen Page the briefs burglar, Keri Russell the Disney vandal and Famke Janssen the dance-floor terrorist.

And, just because I love them and wish them nothing but sunshine and puppies: Parker Posey the focus thief, Lili Taylor the caffeine addict, Sarah Polley the love bandit and Zooey Deschanel the frozen-treat embezzler.

P.S. If you happen to share a room with Ione Skye, hide your toothbrush. Just a suggestion.

    Ellen Page's admission opens a bitter wound. When I was a kid I wanted to wear boys underwear, but would my mother let me? Heck no. But when my younger sister wanted to wear tighty whiteys she was allowed. And she grew up straight! See mom, not letting me wear BVDs made me a lesbian. I should write to a scientist or something and tell them that the mystery of same sex attraction has been solved. Where's a crayon...

    My hometown...basically IS Saved.  But did I hear about the movie before moving to NYC?  Nooooo, of course not.  I haven't gotten through A Walk To Remember, though.  It tends to make me laugh and mock the actors, and then leave the room.  Yes, I am a bad person.

    Great signs...toothbrush adultery not recommended.

    Imagining Famke crumpin' is hilarious. And judging by her face, she knows it. I think I would pay money to see such a thing.

    Crumpin' is a form of urban dance where the participants paint their faces and dress up, often like clowns, and move in what can only be called a highly energetic manner. Really, I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried:

    The documentary "Rize" is also about Krumpin' - I watched it in one of my classes last semester and it was really good - check it out if you ever get the chance

    If you're interested in a bit of the history about Krumping/Clowning--which totally freaks me out BTW--check out the documentary RIZE. It's v. informative and politically intriguing. They paint (pardon the pun) clowning as a way to keep kids off the streets, but then as it evolves and branches off into krumping it becomes sort of territorial almost, and a rivalry is created between the clowners and krumpers themselves, so it's almost ironic. IMO.
