Cate Blanchett going bad to the bone for Indy 4?Cate Blanchett, bad girl? If you can believe the rumors swirling around her role in the new Indiana Jones IV film, then yes, and — might I add — rowwwr.
The latest news on the yet-untitled Indy 4 project is that Cate will not play Dr. Jones’ love interest, as some expected, but will instead be the film’s main villain. Wow, if this is true, that is some inspired casting.
Cate is one of this era’s greatest cinematic chameleons. Already, she has played the Virgin Queen, an elf queen, a New Jersey housewife and Katharine Hepburn, just to name few. But a bona fide baddie — I think that is new. I can’t wait to see her take on a big budget big bad. I’m willing to bet that evil will have never looked more delicious.
The reports say that Indy will be fighting Russians agents this time around. I just hope that this means that Cate gets to wear a uniform at some point in the film. 'Cause, uh, yeah: damn.

Right There With
You, Mic. You can even come out of the time-out trolley!
I've always loved Cate - she's played some fantastic roles. Anyone ever see Veronica Guerin? That was a brilliant movie, the way Cate portrayed Veronica. *sigh*
I HEART CATE.
And that last picture. Yes, I'll sleep well tonight and I don't give a damned how obivous that is, or how gross, or how inappropriate. It's Cate. Besides, it's not what I said, it's how you've read it! ;P
Wow.
:)
Veronica Guerin was an exceptional movie.
Let me also just plug another great actress and movie. Meryl Streep and The Devil Wears Prada. Awesome movie, awesome acting.
I'm a sucker for Indiana Jones movies and this is just hot, hot, hot! Adore Cate Blanchett.
Sexy evil
I have always been attracted to the whole evil sexy power thing, so im def gonna go see this :D
And im probably going to pass out!

Jibby.
Yum
If Cate Blanchett ever
If Cate Blanchett ever wanted a wife, I would follow her until she was forced to take me out of sheer pity. My director and I have this running joke that I, a vegetarian, would eat a roast ham for Cate Blanchett if it meant having a measly internship with her at the theatre where she's artistic director. I would get her coffee, I would clean her feet, I love her that fucking much. She is the epitome of what I want to be as a person.
Up until the punching, it was a real nice party...
Ah, yes...
I think Cate is a fabulous actress as well!
(Merce, I have some of her photos in my "pretties" collection too ;-) )
Oh and where are the members who are debating about whether someone should be labeled "butch" or "femme" or "lipstick lesbian"?
Ummm..
I'd umm...have to say ummm...that Cate looks very sexy either way!
Sweet Dreams, Mercy! ;-)
yes.
I was going to see the film anyways. Cate being in it is an extra bonus I had not expected. Can I say damn,
wow
I just had to say...
baddie Cate
Oh yes, she has played a badddie before...recently playing a "pedo" as my teenage daughter names it :), in Notes on a Scandal. But I guess she wasn't that villianous in it.
I am looking forward to her Queen Elizabeth take 2 role.
Can't stand Indiana Jones or Harrison Ford, but may watch this if she's in it.
Cate bad deux
Granted it was a small supporting role, but Cate went against type as a narcissistic bitch who sold her own daughter in The Shipping News. Her lovely co-stars, Dame Judy Dench, Julianne Moore and some Spacey guy. Great movie that one.
Unless they plan on pushing Indy around in a wheelchair, I can't fathom seeing this film, even with Cate involved. Ford's too old, the premise is too cliche, and now that he's involved with Calista Flockhart I can't even stand to look at him. Some things are best left alone.
Veronica Guerin is so sad, why would anyone want to watch it more than once?
OK
Mic, Harpy, Sunflower, Heartsease and I shall all go and watch Veronica Guerin whilst the debates over lipstick lesbians and Rosie and Ellen continue. And then, when you've all exploded, we'll sneak in and sweep Cate off her feet. Then of course there will be inner arguing over whom gets to keep her. Then Cate will remind us that she is her own person and she will decide. Then it'll become some Bachlerette Bollocks that they'll show on ESPN.... wait that's a sports thingy... OK - They'll screen it on Fox 8 - it's all here - and at the end of every episode there'll be a really annoying teaser...
Coffee + Advil + Johnny Knoxville = Strange Thoughts And I.
But yea, go Indy 4! Wooooo
Woo Hoo!
I'm SOOOO there!
;-)
*laughing*
Cate's awesome!
I love Cate. I’ve watched every movie she’s been in.
I saw an interview with her after “Elizabeth I” came out and she said that she gets offers to do strange movie characters because her looks are not what you would call “beautiful”, but a little on the quirky side. Huh? Modesty, smarts and great roles. She is an icon before her time. Loved her in “Aviator”. Classic imitating classic. Sweeeet. And I will watch her in the new Indy film. BTW, Ever notice how awful Harrison Ford kisses on screen? Awkward. He’s the worst, like, his mouth doesn’t work or something. Similar to Jennifer Beals. (sorry) Odd. And when he runs….gees, don’t get me started. But he seems like an okay kinda guy besides all that.
