Another day, another killer "L Word" promo

I think it's really possible, considering the way the last season ended, that adelle kills Jenny. Maybe Alice takes the fall. Adelle is pretty short, and a bit nuts-o.

That screen shot would be awesome foreshadowing if the l word made any sense. Maybe that will be the twist this season. Everything will make sense and all happen as it appears it will. 

I'm a season behind, but I can't really see any of them being murderers, except maybe Jenny. Perhaps Alice is wrongfully imprisoned? She can't exactly run OurChart from a jailcell...Then again, OurChart (the actual site) just let go most of its staff... foreshadowing perhaps??

I just hope I can find someplace on campus that has Showtime!! I can't *not* watch the final season!!

i think jenny dies. there's two shots near the beginning where they have two lines of lovely ladies... four or so in each... jenny is in the second group (hoping this makes sense), on the left. when this shot fades, jenny stays in the foreground for a second. enough to make you go-- wait, what?

under the sheet person can't be shane, that torso isn't long enough, and whoever it is has some hips. i know jenny is pretty thin, but i think it could be her.

I completely agree with your prediction. Great (or twisted) minds think alike!! I thought it as soon as it was released that the spinoff may be set in a prison in the UK. Also this may seems bizarre, but on the promo photo that was released last week with all of them naked and kissing etc, I thought that Helena looked kinda dead.. Extremely hot, of course, but dead...!!

Bum!! If it is Helena, does that mean she's only going to be in it for two crappy minutes???!!! Oh, come on, she was was blink and you'll miss her last season too.. Not fair.. Not a happy bunny! Humph!!!

'One of them takes the fall..' Does that mean they (Alice, presumably), didn't do it but takes the blame for someone else..? Oh no, I can see it now. Not only is Ilene trying to capitalize on the whole Bad Girls lesbian thing, she's going to make a lesbian (or bisexual, because of course, Alice was bisexual until the end of season 1!!!) version of Prison Break... :-(

This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. Way to ruin the last season, Eileen.

Will have to change my initial assessment as it is one of "our favourites" according to the promo that gets killed.  That can't be Adele then.

Okay so Bette totally has a baby bump @ 00:15. Pretty much the only promisinf thing in this promo.

I am pretty excited about that. Now Ilene Chaiken, the writer, creator and executive producer of Showtime's hit series The L Word, is bound to fuck it all up as usual but, hey it will give us all one more reason to love to hate her, as if killing dana, ending the whole Ivan storyline, having bette kidnap angelica, reducing Pam Griers entire vocabulary to "baby, girl" complete with ever inflaction in voice as possible, and ending it between Carmen and Shane, wasnt enough!!

I am suspecting that the season will be shot in flashback, that the shooting is presented in the first two minutes but that the rest of the season will be flashbacks to show what led up to the fatal shot.

I've read so many interviews with the cast and first hand accounts of people who have been on set, and they all mention various members of the cast being present during filming. 

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see who the shooter is in that first scene, and that we are kept guessing as the season plays out--although casting alice as an inmate in a British prison sort of tips their hand there...

Ah hell, why man? Is Ms. Chaiken that incredibly bored/insane that this is what it's come down to? First Marina's departure, Carmen and Jenny on a toilet, Dana's death, Carmen's departure, the creation of Papi (which I take offense being of Puerto Rican ancestry), Max (sorry but horribly snooze worthy), leaving Helena out most of Season 5, and not enough Dawn Denbo and her lover Cindy (Naked)

Let it be Shane since she doesn't eat much anyway and I need my Mia Kirshner fix for the rest of the season. Only she can make a character like Jenny watchable.

I like your theory!!..It would make sense that Alice take the fall since the spin-off possibly takes place in prison..and I thought KIT might have some involvement before this promo came out..(we all saw her with the gun..wanting to kill Double D)..but now that it has i wonder if it confirms what i believE?..

at 00:15 a few things happen..bette is holding her stomach and it LOOKS like a baby bump (like heygirlhey said)..and Shane looks at her but I have no idea..lol..we all know someone will be wearing a baby bump and my first guess was bette..seeing as she told tina she wanted another baby..

also @ 00:15..if you watch Alice and Kit..Kit is looking at her the WHOLE time..and then Alice looks over to her..so maybe Alice is covering for Kit?..or Kit could be the victum..and her stare is like sympathy or something..cause she didn't do it..

the only thing interesting about the next group of 4 is that jenny stays up for a little longer like mari pointed out..

This is very hard to analyze.

My first guess intuitively was that it's Jenny's body. I think it is, still. It's the dramatic pose, that is so familiar with her, that I believe it to be her. Soo typically Jenny, lol.

Why should Alice take the blame, that's my big question. What does she win on that? Protecting some one?

I may be the only one here, but I love the murder idea - as long as it's Shane that doesn't get killed.

On another site I saw some weird pics of Shane dancing with someone. The blogger couldn't figure out if she was dancing with Jenny or Nikki. Could these pics have something to do with the murder story? I don't know.

The promo says, "one of our favorites will take their last breath and one of her friends will take the fall". Nikki and Adele aren't favorites nor are they "friends" with anyone. I doubt either of them are involved.

I'm going to guess that Kit dies and Shane takes the fall.

But wait... isn't this season supposed to be Max-centric? Maybe Max takes the fall and they can't figure out whether to imprison him with men or women. That would make for good drama.

Well, doesn't "take the fall" mean someone gets blamed for it when it wasn't even them? so i think alice "takes the fall", but someone else actually does it.

But, all in all, this promo makes me mad. This makes me not want to watch the last season if its going to be all about murder and not lesbian issues and drama.

My guess, Dawn Denbo is the killer. Helena is the victim. Kit will get blamed....Alice would sacrifice herself to let Kit off the hook(if the spin off thing is for real)

...but I hope it's Jenny.  Hrm...thinking about it, the voiceover in the promo did say "favourite", so couldn't be her.  LOL.  Maybe she'll take the fall.  Oooh, that would be much better :)  

Oh and what is it with the L Word having favourite characters die?  I'm still not over Dana's death (hence my avatar).  Oh crap, did I just type a spoiler for people who haven't seen the L Word yet?

I for one, am a big fan of murder mysteries, so I don't mind the L Word doing one.  Why not?  They've tried just about everything else already.

I can't say for sure but after having read a lot of speculation and spoilers...and I have my guesses:

Three most likely to die: Jenny, Helena or Shane.

SPOILER ALERT as to why...

Rumour has it that Helena starts dating Dawn's lover Cindy, but later on Dylan comes back. I've also read that Cindy gets pissed off at Helena and wants revenge. This would make sense...because maybe Cindy goes after Dylan and accidentally ends up killing Helena instead. Maybe Alice (since she's Helena's good friend) takes the fall for Dylan...because Dylan would seem guilty as she was there when Helena died.

Another reason why it might be Helena is because if she does indeed date Cindy for a while...Dawn Denbo would want her head. So either Dawn kills her when she's with Cindy, or Cindy gets her revenge by crawling back to Dawn when Helena leaves her.

I'm having trouble tying Alice into getting blamed...but if Shane were the one murdered (and let's face it...a lot of people dislike her at the beginning so that is likely)...then Alice would and could certainly be blamed seeing as they're so close.

As for my Jenny prediction: I just dislike Jenny so much and think that maybe Jenny threatens to out Nikki to the world and so Nikki kills her. Because of the whole Shane/Jenny fiasco last season...Alice realizes that her friend is most likely to get blamed and decides to take the fall for her...thinking that she might get off easier because she's a "minor" celebrity.

Phewf...I'm running out of ideas. But I'm still feeling strongest about it being Helena. I really don't think Jodi, Bette, Tina or Kit are involved.

UNLESS (haha my last one) Bette or Tina is the killer...and Alice takes the fall because they are young moms and Bette is about to have a baby? That seems like it would be possible too.

Gah...I'm lost on who dies...but I think almost any of them could be responsible...and Alice will certainly take the fall.

Just please tell me Lucy Lawless sleeps with one of them in the process :)

I hope we don't get to the last episode just to discover that season six has been Jenny writing 'Les Girls Deux' because the first was so successful, and all we have been doing is watching her write..

it's Max who dies, gets killed, has the life snuffed out of him. or someone I can't seem to think of to call a "regular".

Assuming Alice ends up in a UK prison, the crime must take place in the UK not in WeHo.  So, knowing how Helena likes to jet her friends around to weddings, let's say she flies the whole gang to London for her wedding to....why, Dylan, of course.  With whom she reunited during the course of the season after dumping Dawn Denbo's lover Cindy.  Now that all are in UK anybody could murder anybody and the guilty party would serve the sentence over there.  My guess is Cindy and/or Dawn murder Helena at some pre-nuptial event at which all our favorites attend and are suspected by UK police.  Knowing Alice will not take the fall for either of those two, the UK police will arrest the wrong party and Alice will step up to do a far far better thing than she has done before.  For whom will she be so noble during the murder trial?  The person who was noble for Alice at a previous trial and who Alice "wrongs" during the season by cheating.  Alice redeems herself by taking the fall for Tasha who is wrongly accused of Helena's murder.
