Alyson Hannigan joins the Scoobies for PaleyFestWeep no more: The artist formerly known as Willow is confirmed for the big Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion at PaleyFest next month. Alyson Hannigan will attend the Buffy panel as part of the 25th annual event sponsored by The Paley Center, formerly known as The Museum of Television & Radio. (Thanks for the tip, AfterEllen.com reader lookherecheers!)
Now officially confirmed along with Alyson for the March 20 reunion are series creator Joss Whedon, Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), Amber Benson (Tara), Nicholas Brendon (Xander), Emma Caulfield (Anya), Eliza Dushku (Faith), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), Seth Green (Oz), James Marsters (Spike) and Michelle Trachtenberg (little Dawnie).
You know what this news means, right? Right? Yes, the Willow and Tara reunion we've been dreaming about for six years could still happen. I feel like lighting an extra flamey candle to celebrate. Anyone else?
Alyson is one of the last Scoobies to sign on. Former Buffy beau Angel (David Boreanaz) told TVGuide.com he has a family commitment that day but will tape a special greeting for fans to air during the event. So that leaves Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) as the lone core Scooby holdout. No word yet on whether he'll cross the pond for the occasion.
Since Buffy left the air five years ago, Alyson has been on of its busiest former cast members. For the last three seasons, she has been gainfully employed on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. While the lesbian Wiccan lovers quotient on the show is sadly lacking (so far, at least), it does boast the hilarious Neil Patrick Harris (a gay man playing a ladies' man), so that makes it fairly awesome in my book.
So, who here already has her ticket? And will Miss Kitty Fantastico make an appearance?

OH MAN!! I hate being in the UK!! I would kill to be there but I am too poor to fly out!!
I would go if I could but I can't and it sucks :(
Can everyone who goes take like a thousand pictures and videos and maybe do a vlog from there or something? Pleeeease? Pretty please with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles on top? . . . and gummy bears and skittles, cuz who doesn't want to taste the rainbow! and m&ms . . . and . . . something else on top too that I haven't thought of yet . . .
Argh...Why do I live so
Argh...Why do I live so far!! They should do the reunion in Montreal ;)
On arrête pas l’ progrès ça devient pathétique
seule façon qu’ça s’explique :Dieu se pique - Vulgaires Machins
I need to attend this
Can anyone tell me if it's going to be at the Paley Center in LA or NYC?
Live every moment like it's your last.
Sigh...
I'm pretty confident it's at the LA Paley Center but it doesn't really matter though because tickets are sold out. *Sigh* Ah well...just gotta wait for the next one...
OMG
I am so jealous.
I wish I lived in America. Damn giant ocean.
That is such a fantastic line up. Just put in Darla and Dru and it'd be perfect.
Damn
The envy and jealousy are killing me right now!
Sigh...
LIFE IS A NECK. DRINK DEEP.
I HATE THE MIDWEST!!!!
More importantly, I hate my job, school, obligations and everything else that is holding me back from just buying a plane ticket and standing outside the Paley Center and screaming Amber's name... and Alyson's, Sarah's, Nicholas's, Seth's, Charisma's, James's, Michelle's and JOSS! Excuse me while I go find a corner and cry *sniff* ;-(

live for lust die for love
Ugh!
And I thought I was upset when I couldn't go to Mutant Enemy day at the picket lines! I want to go to this panel discussion soooooooo badly! I can't express it enough. If ASH announces he'll be there, I will just sit in my room for three days and cry. I would totally skip out on my finals to go to this!! *sigh* I hate living in Ohio and not having the money to go to this. Not to mention the fact that it's sold out. Ugh.
Someone needs to put this thing on DVD - it'll sell really well! Someone tell professional video camera ppl they should do that. Anyone who's going - have a fantastic time!
*sulks*

If It Helps to Ease the Pain...
here's my story:
I'm a member of the Paley and I still couldn't get a ticket. Any one who subscribed ($750) got first pass. Single tickets for members went on sale a few days later. By the time I got to the computer (8am), the system was overloaded. They added more lines and I could finally get in (this was about an hour later), then the page was loaded badly and you couldn't complete the order. By the time I got the ticket company on the phone, ithe event was completely sold out. This was in the space of two hours. Waaaa!! I was able to get the other show I wanted tho'.
Oh and the festival is going to be held at Cinerama Dome in Hollywood...which is half mile from where I live. So proximty doesn't help either.
I hope this helps ease your pain.
Of course, if the Paley was smart, they would do a web cast. But, they probably won't think of that. They do have a My Space page and they may put up some highlights of the panel. Keep an eye out.
Peace, Joy and Love
BEST. IDEA. EVAH!
Oh they ~so~ MUST do a webcast. And release a DVD of the panel.
Surely the studios realise that this sold out so amazingly rapidly because of the Buffy fandom, yes?
Surely someone at the studios can see the large bags with $$ on the side just ripe for the picking?
Surely Tara will come to life and find me and we'll live happily ev... *ahem* Sorry, got carried away there for a second. *grin*
To continue:
Surely they'll be scheduling a Buffy movie or new spinoff series (Ripper anyone?) to satisfy the voracious fans?
Surely they'll finally get their sh*t together and license Once More, With Feeling (globally!) for sing-along performances...?
~sigh~Perhaps in Bizarro world...
Ripper not a bad idea BUT Riely the series would be HOT.
Surely they'll be scheduling a Buffy movie or new spinoff series (Ripper anyone?) to satisfy the voracious fans?
I just wanted to comment that while giles as a young guy could be ok. My vote is for riley and the other hot college/commando guys. I wouldnt scoff at a ripper series, hell anything that keeps the buffy verse going is great in my eyes but Riley could be a big hit.

Submit a Question
In case anyone missed it, you can submit a question to the moderator of the panel. You have until March, 10th.
