MTV's "The Duel 2" features four lesbian players

Starved pitbulls CT and Adam took center stage in the premiere of the second season of MTV’s The Duel 2 last week, as Bunim-Murray’s “let’s get them drunk, really drunk, with nothing to do and lots of flared tempers” formula still reigns supreme.

However, last season’s Duel was much centered on my favorite long-ponytail-sticking-out-of-her-visor lesbian, Ev.

Targeted off the bat for her “tell it like it is” attitude, she was forced to push herself to the mental and physical limits week after week against her nemesis Johnny “Bananas." She turned the tables, only to team with him in the end and win all the guts and glory. (Can I get a “HOO-RAH"?)

With a take no crap mentality and a thirst for justice in a “game” centered mostly around “alliances” and “eliminating the rookies first”, Ev put a promising face to the lesbian community in this zany cable franchise.

This season there are four girl-loving-girls on this testosterone-charged melee, (this time set in New Zealand), so let’s see how they stack up against Ev. (So far we’ve already gotten to watch them play rugby in spandex so things are looking sunny.)

Ruthie

Who she is: The girl who got naked and jumped into the pool the minute she got into her posh digs on Real World: Hawaii.

Mostly notorious for her drunken antics in the Hawaii house, she drank herself unconscious in episode one, got behind the wheel in another episode to have the production staff intervene, gave her boss’s wife a lap dance, and eventually checked herself into rehab during taping.

Now she speaks to schools around the country about drinking. On her sexuality, she just says “call me Ruthie." She's competed in Battle of the Sexes and Battle of the Sexes 2.

Predictions: Zzz (as proven by lack of video clip.)

Aneesa

Who she is: Naked girl from Real World: Chicago.

Back to dancing after successful knee surgery, which should give her a “leg up” after her less impressive showings during the Battle of the Sexes, Battle of the Sexes 2, The Duel, The Inferno III.

In the crux of a cliffhanger in the pilot, she has been chosen to compete in the first women’s duel against blonde rookie Shauvon.

Predictions: Will win the first duel and from then on will constantly demand to not be underestimated. Really, you really shouldn’t underestimate her.

Rachel

Who she is: Tough lesbian from Road Rules: Campus Crawl

A personal trainer from Miami, she showered with Veronica and Abe in the first Gauntlet and made out hardcore with former Raiderette Jenn in the last Duel. Definitely a veteran, she's previously competed in Battle of the Sexes, The Gauntlet, Battle of the Sexes 2, The Inferno II and The Island.

Predictions: Lots of American Apparel. Emotional meltdown and often-expressed lust for the game. Will most likely let her inferiority complex win again, being crippled by the “there’s a target on my back” mentality. Hopefully making out with Jenn some more.

Brooke

Who she is: The crazy girl from Real World: Denver that wanted to hike in boyshorts.

She was the winner of “Best Meltdown” at The Real World Awards (deservedly so) before she made out with Ev in The Gauntlet 3. She's kind of an all-around lunatic — and that’s why we love her.

So far, she's been making out with gay boys Davis and Ryan in a hot tub.

Predictions: Another meltdown. Still wanting to compete in her underwear. Latent fear of heights, onesies, snow, or crickets revealed. Hopefully she pulls a Sarah (see: Gauntlet) and gets sent into the duel every week, only to come back more and more furious.

    Does MTV even show anything music related anymore, or is it all reality TV programming now?

    And Ev's a lesbian???  Clearly I'm not as obsessed with MTV as I used to be.

    Especially when they have some of our team on them. Rachel is by far my favorite on any of the real world, road rules, and duel esk shows. Hopefully she wins it, or is at least on longer than the last one.

    i love these girls, or at least who they are portrayed as on television, and had no idea they were gay! i should be more informed, the whole real world thing is pretty much the only reality tv i watch, and i love the challenges.

     

    and ruthie and aneesa are favorites! i don't really believe that brooke is gay, but who am i to judge....and rachel is just plain hot, that's all i have to say about that!

     

     

    man, i thought i had good gaydar!

     

     

    and in our honesty, together we will rise. out of our nightminds and into the light at the end of the fight...

    Gawd its sick how much I love the Real World/RoadRules challenges.  I love it cause its reality t.v but you already know the characters. I swear Mtv has cracked the formula. Hot people + Alcohol + Rent free living in a badass house in a another country = Good fucking times.

    I thought the last challenge Anessa was on was her last. I mean come on, her team treated her like crap and wouldnt let her do participate any of the challenges after she messed up her knee. Damn near all of them said horrible things about her in their interviews. I can't see how, after watching or even hearing about some of that could make me want to go back and endure it again. She is a true masochist and a drama queen. 

    I also thought Ruthie retired. I'm glad to see her back anyway though. She's a really awesome competitor and really knows how to steer away from drama. 

    I'm excited to see what else happens with Jenn and Rachel. Those two are sorta kinda hot together.

    As for Brooke...she kinda scares me O.o

    Awww... how I wish that this show took people from all challenges or dating shows. How awesome do you think Dani (A shot @ love) would be at this? Too bad the crossover effect hasn't really touched on the dating shows. Come on MTV -- that wasn't even on VH1! Ha!

    They are so addicting. Back in the undergrad days, we used to have watching parties for the challenges (Inferno, anyone??)...and for Laguna Beach...and for The Hills...

    Somehow we all graduated.

    HOO-RAH!? i don't know why, but i'm surprised to see someone else on here who watched the first battle of the sexes or any of the older challenges for that matter. jeez it brings back a lot of great memories =) seriously, all the drama with emily, the girls also wanting a chant and deciding on "vagina" and melissa howard <3 nuff' said. this was also the challenge i fell more in love with ruthie. i absolutely loved her on her season and after seeing her kill this challenge, i love her even more. and i don't care what anyone else says, the girls were ROBBED! bmp if you're listening bring back all the true vets so they can school all these people who think they're vets

    haha anyways, i love all the girls on this challenge...well all the gay ones plus jenn and a couple of the other ones. imo, brooke is one of the best real worlders ever! she's a goddess. "'DON'T YOU EVER TALK TO ME LIKE THAT EVER AGAIN!" <3<3<3

    Now I'd rather see Brooke and Jenn hookup over Jenn and Rachel. I vaguely remember Jenn and Brooke in the hot tub back during their original RW season in Denver, and it was hot.

    I've been watching just about every season, probably since before I even knew I was gay. My only favorite lesbian's Rachel...everyone else kind of annoys me. And yeah, hopefully her and Jenn will make out some more, which from some of the previews I've seen, they will :]

    Has Brooke come out as a lesbian? I thought she is bisexual... which in MTV world probably means she is straight, bicurious and kind of tired of men.

     

    Rachel and Veronica were in a very serious relationship for years that MTV chose not to show when they were on a challenge together. I don't understand why they didn't show it. But we've always known Rachel is a lesbian. What's up with Veronica?

    I thought Jenn and Rachel made out on The Island? Were they even in the first Duel?

    And i gotta be honest if youre gonna include Brooke you might as well include Jenn. Brooke at the very least is just clinically insane and will sleep with whomever gives her attention, lol.

    Im totally watching this again. I love the insanity of it. Oh and the (half) naked bodies are always pretty nice too.

    I've been watching Road Rules and Real World forever. Well Real World a little less but I'm still an addict and once the Challenges started I was hooked for good. I'm glad that Ruthie is back. She was like my favorite person of all the seasons. Rachel and Jenn were so awesome in the Island. Jenn can't deny their attraction no matter how hard she tries. They definitely will reconnect this season. Which I am looking forward to :)
