Today: No justice for Dan Choi

Rachel Maddow is still on vacation. Check back here every day for classic clips.

And a bit of current news as Alison Stewart continued to do a bang-up job filling in for the (one hopes) relaxing Ms. Maddow. Ms. Stewart had some depressing news to deliver: Lieutenant Dan Choi is still fired for being a model soldier while gay.

I’ve been lucky enough to hear Choi speak in person, and he’s truly inspiring. On that note, let’s take a look back at his first appearance on the show. Well, his first uninterrupted appearance.

And, just because we might need a little cheering up, a little more Relaxed Rachel. Thanks to @OnMyPatio for the suggestion.

    loved that little pajamas clip. so adorable. I am sorry about Dan Choi's situation, I've had some people close to me who have gone through the same and its so unfair. I hope Obama can do something about this DADT and DOMA. ASAP.

    I'm not just spamming here. I actually know Lt Dan Choi (back in the days of high school). If you want to support him and the tens of thousands of other LGBT service members, sign this letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi to push for the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell - http://www.couragecampaign.org/page/s/RepealDADT.

    Also, become an ally of Knights Out - http://knightsout.org - the board of directors are all awesome people who truly care about their cause!
