The Oscar hookupCertainly, it's fun to see the gowns and the glamour of the Oscars. But almost as fun as all the fashion is seeing the big night's assorted couplings and comminglings: who arrived with whom, who made a new friend, who hooked up in the bathroom of the Vanity Fair party and so on. With Ellen DeGeneres hosting and Melissa Etheridge winning for Best Song, lesbian power couples were out in all their finery: Ellen and Portia, looking swoony.

But if you were hoping someone else might make a splash and choose Hollywood's night of nights to show off a new love that dare not speak its name, you were disappointed. Luckily, we gay gals have active imaginations. Consider these couplings the should-have-beens of Oscar Night 2007. Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt: See, those rumors were true.
Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts: Look at Nicole, all butch, leading tiny Naomi about.
Beyoncé and Gwyneth Paltrow: These two appear to be in the shy, first-blush phase. Give it time girls, give it time.
Oprah and Mary J. Blige: Gayle's got competition. Forget no more drama; I see major drama.
Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren: All my dreams have been fulfilled and I can now die a happy woman.

i was watching when i saw
i was watching when i saw anne and emily walk out holding hands, and i remember thinking, "HOLY SH*T! I now have a new lesbian couple to pine for."
damn you too....
Helen and Kate? *squeals in fangirl pleasure* i could die a happy woman if they got together, age be damned.
The thing about the Emily and Anne handhold: Their fingers are laced together. That's a lot more intimate of a handhold than a simple clasp.
Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren...gosh, they're both so beautiful... Kate looked gorgeous in that dress...I'm still in awe..
Bwah... this has to be one of the funniest posts ever. Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt... God, that would make me so happy if it was true. And Kate Winslet as Helen Mirren's toygirl.
Emily Blunt really looks fantastic... to my mind, she was one of the very few actresses to choose a good dress, and in a nice snappy colour, peacock blue. So many of them seemed to go for blah beige and pastels this time, and either weird or unflattering cuts.
Helen and Kate? She's an old lady. She is beautiful but that is still kinda gross.
Not sure on Helen's age but Kate would be fortunate to be with her. At any age Helen is a babe!

what was UP with ellen on the barbara walters special??? "i love men, i'm just more comfortable with a woman"??? jesus. sounds like she's talking about the difference between two pairs of SHOES!
On Yahoo, in the feature box, there is a link to photos of the best and worst dressed stars at the Oscars. There are also links to photos of people in similar dresses or wearing diamonds or the same color. In looking at the one about those who wore blue, it seemed a majority of them were our girls, Portia, Melissa and Jodie. You think they called each other and said "Hey...what are you wearing tonight?"
Kate and Helen would be an incredibly sexy couple, age difference be damned.
For ten years now I wonder why oh why MLE doesn't turn the darn lights on when choosing her outfits. But then again I guess that only proves love is blind... she is a.m.a.z.i.n.g. :P

Wow! my mind is an oficial mess!!! why do Anne and Emily play like that with me! I was so calm yeasterday and after that all i can do is think that in MY mind Anne and Emily are dating. Anne loves Emily!!! (sadly... just in my mind)
When Anne and Emily walked out together holding hands my cell phone lit up like a Vegas lounge because all my friends who religiously read blind items started freaking out! It was just too funny. I thought the whole Prada sketch was hilarious. How freaking amazing is Meryl Streep?!?
