Barrino on the boards

Fantasia Barrino (or just Fantasia, if you're nasty) may join the cast of The Color Purple on Broadway. She'd play Celie, even though she seems more like a Shug Avery. I don't doubt that Fantasia has the pipes, but what about the acting chops? One way to find out, I guess. If all goes well, maybe they'll revive Porgy and Bess for her. Her performance of "Summertime" remains a goosebump moment for me.
