Because there are so many hot women in itBecause I Said So opens this weekend, featuring Lauren Graham, Diane Keaton, Piper Perabo, and Mandy Moore in the same movie. It's like Ocean's 11 for women! Make that more like Ocean's 12, unfortunately--the reviews are so bad they make Smokin' Aces look like an Oscar-worthy meditation on violence. But seriously, how can you resist this:
or this:
I don't care how bad the reviews are, I'm going to see this when it comes out on DVD. Or ends up on Lifetime, whichever comes first. Submitted by on February 1, 2007 - 9:39pm. |

I'm seriouly bummed that this movie is such a crapfest. From the ads I thought it looked pretty stupid, but the reviews have convinced me that it is absolutely abysmal. Diane Keaton so rarely graces the screen. What a waste! I don't think I can bear to see her in something so bad. Someone, PLEASE make a movie about a funny older woman that will be worthy of Keaton's amazing charm and wit!
I can resist rather easily. I'd rather watch "Smokin' Aces" four times than pay to see this sh*tstorm once. Really. Though I do like Diane Keaton a lot. But if I need a Keaton fix, I'll just pop "Annie Hall" into the DVD player.
I saw this movie on Monday. Have to say that I really enjoyed it and I think it was funny. I might be biased though because I just love Lauren, Diane and Mandy. I didn't know about Piper so she was a bonus;-)
I haven't read any reviews and even if I had I still would have wanted to see this movie :-)
This might be a silly comment but:
I read the (negative) NYTimes review of this film and they describe Piper Perabo's character as the one who wears the skimpiest outfits. As if that's a bad thing! I never thought skimpy was the same as trashy. From the previews (and film stills), she looks great and not a skimpy-outfit-wearer. I thought it an unnecessary and inaccurate comment. I may just have to see it to judge for myself. Heh.
I saw this earlier this week and it's one of the worst movies I've seen since BABY GENIUSES -- really ghastly.
There is a random girl-girl kiss at the end -- or, rather, matron-matron kiss. Two old ladies in a cooking glass start macking out of nowhere -- it's kind of funny.
I guess I just wait for the DVD and turn the volume down and be a happy camper. :)
That is too funny. I am going to see it tomorrow and it looks like my kind of movie! Funny because my friend saw it today and she said it is laugh out loud funny and I will love it. Different strokes for different folks!
I just saw it this afternoon and while I thought it could be better, it was pretty darn good, for what it was worth. If anyone does see it, it's sorta obvious that there was major editing done before it's release and some of the Diane Keaton scenes air on the long side and are a bit contrived. But face it people, it's a chick (family) flick so it shouldn't be taken that seriously.
The movie was godawful. I agree with the earlier comment about it being heavily edited; Piper Perabo had almost no reason to appear on screen at all, and they inexplicably cast Colin Ferguson as Lauren Graham's husband yet he had no lines. Very weird. But I would say wait till it hits lifetime, definitely not worth theater prices.
I SAW IT AND LOVVVEEEEEDDDD IT. granted i have a family of 3 girls. everyone one in the theater was in stitches! all i heard was rave reviews as i was walking out. F NY TIMES!
i actually reviewed it for my paper, and to be honest, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Lauren Graham stole the show, and while Piper Perabo was completely useless in her role, she was still freaking hot. It's a little disappointing that Diane Keaton keeps taking on these roles, but this movie had enough offbeat humor to keep me more than satisfied. ooh, and the wardrobes rocked. 4 beautiful women romping around in cute dresses and little underthings? im there.
Saw it and loved it too. I am so surprised people hated it and it got horrible reviews! I did think that Diane Keaton was a LITTLE over the top but overall harmless.
I got to go to a free screening a few days ago. Okay the message that you need to be coupled to be happy is crap and there are contrived scenes and scenes that went on too long and Diane Keaton's role should have been less like the mother in Something's Gotta Give. But there is humor, I love Diane Keaton and Lauren Graham, plenty of cute women, I've certainly seen worse, it's mindless, very mindless, entertainment.
ya so i dont know why its getting such bad reviews, i saw it today and thought it was preety funny. plus everyone in the movie was either funny of really hot:) and to think i was about to not watch it!
I certainly can not resist anything that stars Lauren Graham. So, despite the fact that I will probably leave the theater disappointed, I will see it... because she is ridiculously extraordinary!
Its a Tiffany box with shit inside and I went in with super low expectations. Not even the cute girls make up for this disaster of a "film". I almost felt sad for them then I thought they got paid for it and I gave up 12bucks not including snacks.
I would rather have Max explain the intricacies of "computer searches" than watch this movie.
I saw it last night and thought it was super funny. Plus, Mandy Moore is wickedly hot in it!
I'll watch it, since it has Lauren Graham in it. Mandy Moore's not so bad either ;)
I'll be waiting until it's on DVD though.....
I saw this on Saturday and while it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be, it wasn't awful. Definitely some funny parts. The women are HOT! No doubt!
