Molly, you'll be missed
Columnist
Molly Ivins died Wednesday at the age of 62. Way too young.
The New York Times article commemorating her career is a good read. As is everything she ever wrote. Here are some quotes:
I have been attacked by Rush Limbaugh on the air, an experience somewhat akin to being gummed by a newt. It doesn't actually hurt, but it leaves you with slimy stuff on your ankle.
I believe in practicing prudence at least once every two or three years.
The thing about democracy, beloveds, is that it is not neat, orderly, or quiet. It requires a certain relish for confusion.
If you're not familiar with her work, or even if you are, do yourself a favor: Buy one of her books and settle in for a night of laughs and enlightenment.
