Pedro and Penelope get revengeThis is one of those news items that are full of words like "probable" and "likely," so it may not happen, but Penelope Cruz is expected to star in Pedro Almodóvar's next film, La Piel Que Habito.
According to Variety, the new film is significantly darker than Volver:

I love Pedro...all his films..he's an incredible director, he's a magician, an artist. Everybody should see "Volver", it's a masterpiece both of direction and interpretation cause all the actresses are great. And Penelope was simply sparkling in the Spanish Academy awards ceremony on sunday...
What happened between Almodovar and Leonor Watling? She used to be in all his movies, now he seems to be all about Penelope Cruz. I miss Leonor!
Leonor Watling was only in Talk to Her and Bad Education, whereas Penelope Cruz has made three movies with Almodovar, four if you count the project they just announced.
Almodovar's IT actress actually is the amazing Carmen Mauraâ€â€they made something like eight or nine movies together. Even Rossy de Palma (the one with the great big nose) would count as more of an Almodovar regular than either Cruz or Watling.
