ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER QUEER WOMEN WINS AN EMMY
Tony Award winner Cynthia Nixon picked up another Emmy for her guest role on Law and Order: SVU last season ("Alternate").

Here’s a highlight video of the episode, in which she plays a woman with multiple personalities whose daughter goes missing (Benson’s V-neck sweater also makes an appearance):

Nice slap, Cynthia!

LET’S HOPE MAGGIE DOES DOESN’T SHOW UP AND CHALLENGE REESE TO A PILLOW FIGHT
Eden Riegel is returning to All My Children! Soapnet broke the news yesterday (thanks to Pyewacket for the tip!):

Eden Riegel, who played the beloved Bianca Montgomery from 2000-2005 (with appearances in 2006 and 2007), is coming back to the show.

What’s better? She’s bringing along actress Tamara Braun, best known for her work as Carly on General Hospital and recently as Ava on Days of our Lives.

When last seen in 2007 (she arrived to visit her nephew, Ian), Bianca was living with Paris with her young daughter, Miranda.

She’s been busy in Paris, getting a new girlfriend. And her name is Reese Williams, played by none other than Tamara Braun. Whoa! Bianca’s got a hot girlfriend! Score, Bianca. Anyway, Reese is a confident and successful architect who Bianca has been shacking up with in Paris (she doesn’t have an accent, don’t worry).

…Oh, yeah, we forgot to mention why they are coming to town. More on that tomorrow. It’s amazing and will change All My Children forever. You know, nothing big.

Bianca will make her return on October 17; Reese will follow on October 30. Here are photos of the future happy couple:

Now that the most popular woman in America is a married lesbian CoverGirl, maybe the writers at All My Children will finally let Bianca kiss her girlfriend on camera once in awhile?

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
The Women came in a decent fourth at the box office last weekend, with around $10.1 million in sales (now up to $12 million).

Feminist and lesbian-inclusive magazine Bitch needs your donations to stay in business!

Brad Pitt donated $100,000 to fight California’s November ballot initiative that would overturn the state Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage, because “no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America.” Another reason Pitt deserves to be on our Top 10 List of Lesbian-ish Men!

MediaWeek says the increase in gay talent on reality shows “may just be a matter of good business.”

Set your DVRs: Brunch With Bridget returns from hiatus to debut on Logo tonight at 2am (technically Saturday morning), and on AfterEllen.com on Sunday morning.

Karman Kregloe and Bridget McManus will be at the Cranberry Bar in Zurich, Switzerland next Friday, September 26, from 4pm to 6pm. We’ll post any changes or updates next week in this thread on the forum.

We’re launching a new video blog with some familiar faces this afternoon, devoted to…well, we’re going keep that a surprise, but here’s a hint: the first episode manages to touch on Blair from The Facts of Life, Megan Good from D.E.B.S., Buffy and Willow, and and the girls from Sugar Rush. What do all these women have in common? Tune in later today to find out.

That’s it for this week! Got the inside scoop on a hot new lesbian/bi actor/musician/TV show/film? Tell us at afterellentips@gmail.com. Check back next Friday for another edition of Best. Lesbian. Week. Ever.
