Aussie singer Sarah McLeod was outed this week by The Daily Telegraph. A “source” told the paper that she’s in a relationship with Kara Jane (KJ) of band The Art.
The Telgraph notes Sarah has famously been linked to only men before, such as Chris Joannou of Silverchair. They write:
The pair is understood to have been seeing each other for a few months, having met through mutual friends, although they’ve kept the budding romance quiet as they got to know each other. McLeod and KJ, who previously had a relationship with The Vines singer Craig Nicholls, were last week spotted enjoying each other’s company at Sydney’s Centennial Park.
Shortly after, Sarah acknowledged she’d seen the story, and that it was true by posting on her Twitter:
Sarah is the former vocalist of The Superjesus, a band that has won several ARIA awards and had hit singles with “Gravity” and “Shut My Eyes.” The band broke up in 2004, after 10 years together, and Sarah launched her own solo career. She’s currently working on a follow-up to her 2005 album Beauty Was a Tiger, and released this cover of “Dancing in the Dark.”
Aussies, are any of you fans of Sarah or The Art? It’s unfortunate that the women were outed (though I’m not sure if KJ has ever spoken about her sexuality), but it seems that Sarah is taking it in stride.
